The train ride went a smidge past Oaks park. Enough for a good taste of the Christmas spirit but not too far to wear out the kiddos. Loved every second! Even after the ride, the fun continued. A dedicated space to write letters to Santa (and yes, he did write back!!! My little one loved getting his letter), hot cocoa/coffee booth (they hand decorated each cup!). I'll be back every year. I appreciate their dedication and warmth to all ages.

It's really just a MAX stop right next door to Yahoo (with all the required signs and stuff, but no…read moreparking area), very small, but what a MAX stop. It has a couple of features that make it stand out from all the rest. I cannot give any adequate name to them and cannot describe them in a reliable way because I'm very nearly totally right brained. That being said, one of them is some sort of device that picks up distant sound and amplifies it so you can hear the train coming down the track way before you see it, same with the train horn, but the best of all it picks up birdsong and it's a really beautiful and surreal kind of experience. The other feature is like a very sophisticated set of wind chimes. They're all wired up to the inside of the station, and when they pick up the vibrations of the train on the tracks, the "wind chimes" start playing. Waiting here for a train is an exercise in auditory delight, very playful, and something very unexpected in this quiet neighborhood.

There is also an area to lock up bikes. The WES Commuter Train stops here on its way to Wilsonville in one direction and Beaverton Transit Center in the other direction with stops in Tigard and at the Hall/ Nimbus WES Station before reaching Beaverton. The WES Commuter Train only runs Monday through Friday and only during commute times. The trains are very comfortable with plush cushioned seats. There is a steward on board. This WES station always feels safe and appears clean. There are lots of dining and shopping establishments in the area.

As a new business owner, I have utilized this station a few times and don't regret it at all. I work in Lake Oswego&Clackamas and once I get to the train station by car and step on the the waiting area a WES train or TriMet Bus arrives right on time, possibly in a matter of 20 seconds give or take. It's the perfect solution to being congested on a freeway full of brake lights. Parking can fill up fast but I'm not too concerned because there's plenty of other spaces nearby that are open for use. My friends and I both stay in the Tualatin area and this is our way to go. 90% of the time it's pretty quiet here with the exception of a train horn or bus engine. It's also really safe here. I've came to this station multiple times and a TriMet cop is already nearby. I can't get anything better than this in California. The station feels like home because most people that wait with me are regulars. This is why I not only like Tualatin but the station as well.

So did I,…read moreBack in 1-2/2018 and 12/2018, I used to work at Clackamas Town Center before I had my own office in the far hoods of the PDX area and this station was the best tram station I ever went to. Beats out all the tram stations I have seen in California. Yay! What a success. By 5/2019 I became a regular at this station because I don't like driving on Oregon freeways. I often utilized this station to get a quick bite to eat at the mall even though their food court is not as big as I wanted. If you are a foodie or shopaholic then I highly recommend you leave your car at home and take the tram. There is no shortage of trams available here as with bus service. There are even some weird bus routes that I never heard of. Before the pandemic hit you can always count on trams to be fully occupied. This station is even safer than the others on the MAX system because there are plenty security features here. Warning: At times they will divert buses to another part of the CTC Mall for unknown reasons so please be vigilant of any temporary signs. This happened to me during Thanksgiving and Black Friday during my first trip to Oregon and it was not pretty. If you are from the Clackamas or Oregon City area please arrive early if parking on weekdays.

Stationed just a stone's throw away from Clackamas Town Center, it is a convenient place for all to hit up the place without having to deal with the crazy parking. Another plus about this station is the fact it's both the start (and finish) along the 79-Clackamas-Oregon City line. Seats are practically guaranteed at least for an outbound trip. If you're looking for the bus stop, head toward the parking lot. The actual stop is pretty easy to miss. Lastly, the Clackamas stop is not home to skeevy hobos or nutty hipsters but don't be surprised if it's teeny boppers looking to escape the confines of Clackamas for some downtown Portland action.

Each station has a ticket machine, which were all down for some reason the weekend we were there, but you can always tap to pay with your phone when you get on. It's an honor system. We tried our best to abide by the rules, but as with most of these kind of public transit, a lot of people don't unfortunately. According to their system map, they have three different lines. Two lines cross the river to the East side of Portland while the other goes from North to South of Portland. The ride was like $2 valid for 2.5 hours.

As I rode along in this mostly clean, mostly quiet, public transit, I searched for places to get a tasty donut. Eventually I was able to triangulate that Doe Donuts was just a .3 mile walk from this stop through an area past a Trader Joe's. I jumped off the train at this stop (almost missed it because I was just figuring out the marquee with stops in it) and stood bewildered at a concrete patio that just ended. I spun around and realized there were stairs to a walkway. Up I went. There were house to the right and what looked like industrial buildings to the left. So I went left. .3 miles to donuts. The gentlemen we had were friendly and took care of all of our luggage. The company has great communication. We were scheduled to be picked up at 4:45am but at around 9pm the night before I started getting nervous that we should leave a few minutes earlier, so I sent them an email asking if we could leave at 4:30am instead, really not expecting anyone to respond in time. They actually emailed me back within 10 minutes and confirmed the earlier pick-up time. Then, our return flight landed at PDX (an unheard of!) 40 minutes early. As soon as we touched down I texted the number to see if there would be any way someone could come pick us up for 40 minutes earlier than planned, again not necessarily expecting a response - especially since it was close to midnight. However, they texted me back instantly that my driver would be in touch with me soon, and sure enough our driver texted me within a few minutes. By the time we grabbed our suitcases off of the conveyor and walked a few minutes to the curb, our driver was already there and waiting despite us being 40 minutes early - and, again, it was close to midnight on a Wednesday. We are customers for life!

Everything we own packed was into seven suitcases, and so we needed help to get from the airport to our hotel in Salem. The choice was an Uber, which would not have worked for our situation, or a luxury car service. Hewar was wonderful from when I first called him to arrange our trip. He was attentive and patient, even when I called him multiple times with questions. The manager, Rasheem, met us at baggage claim. Our driver, Zhieco, was professional and friendly. He helped us get our (very heavy) luggage into the hotel. On the other hand, the company I called first did not give me a chance to explain why we needed help at baggage claim. As soon as he heard that, he immediately said he couldn't help me. He threatened to post my phone number online when I wrote him a one-star review. I was shocked. I would've taken it down, regardless, because I don't post bad reviews. So, I was especially glad to talk with Hewar on my second phone call. I highly recommend Elite. If I ever need a service like this again, I will for sure call Hewar.
