My favorite Korean market. Love the extensive selection. Everything one would expect and more. Very good prices too. My favorite items are the individually made hot and cold Korean foods. Great selection. Pick out two or three containers for an inexpensive lunch. Lots of esoteric flavors including Asian Kit Kats and Korean Frito Lay potato chips. Huge selection of hand held desert cakes, cookies, and ice creams. The exterior and interior of the building was very clean and well organized. Grocery check-out was efficient and accurate. They bag your groceries too. If Tiger Market was closer to my home I'd be here several times a week. read more

I finally got to stop here after hearing so much about it. Big disappointment that the banchan shelves were very sparse. Great selection of frozen fish and meats. Little produce. Tons of bulk ramen and small aisle of kitchen items. I walked the aisles twice but wasn't not impressed with the selection. Service said they make the banchan when they have time. ok. I'm over an hour away and would make this place a destination but if there isn't consistency then I won't waste my time. I wouldn't bother unless you need something ordinary like sesame oil or soy sauce. That selection was extensive but I guess that would be since it had a long shelf life. The parking lot was super easy to navigate and the store was super clean and well put-together. I wish I was local so I could come here all the time! All of the convenience store items such as pouch drinks and ice cups were towards the front of the store, and the frozen/refrigerated sections go around the back of the store. We had so much fun exploring all the items. They also have fresh food you can purchase as well, but we didn't get to try any this time. Our cashier was super polite and quick. I had been meaning to check out Tiger Market for some time and I was finally able to visit on my way home from an event on that side of town. I had hoped to grab some prepared food to go for a late bite but unfortunately I wasn't able to make it until about an hour before close so my choices were few. But I did manage to score a container of popcorn chicken which was REALLY good. Based on this alone I'll be making sure I get there early enough in the future to enjoy more options! Now, I also don't know if my late arrival impacted some of the produce options but they were definitely a little light on that which I was not expecting based on other reviews. But everything else here is really solid! It's not as big as say H-Mart but they pack it in! The strongest sections are their refrigerated and frozen sections, with loads of Korean and other Asian cuisine staples from seafood, to plant based, snacks and entrees. I picked up a bag of beef fried rice, some pork katsu, karaage chicken, a single serve meal of japchae, tteokbokki, and some Korean corn dogs. They also have a really great dessert aisle with loads of cakes, buns, and, cheesecakes, and more to choose from. Plus tons of ice cream options. From this category I picked up a mango bun, some souffle cheesecake, and a package of Samanco (fish shaped waffle cone filled with ice cream and chocolate). Snacks section is also solid with a ton of chips, crackers, cookies, plus condiments and and dry goods. And there's a HUGE section of kimchi, of course. I love it here. Tiger Market has quickly become a monthly destination for some Korean staples and a quick lunch of onigiri. The selection of product has grown since they opened and the aisles are stocked with favorites like tteokboki, mogu mogu, vegan kimchi, and jagaricho. The workers are very helpful, and the store is always clean and organized. I avoid coming here on the weekends due to how busy they get and the small aisles, but weekdays are usually very manageable. read more

I drove two hours for an onigiri and was satisfied. I was a little disappointed there was no microwave to heat up any of the shrimp or an option to buy the microwavable 90sec rice and pop it in a microwave but the rice from the onigiri was all good! So much to choose from!! The only thing I will note is the hot food that they have that was labeled spicy was not spicy and the items that were labeled as regular variety were spicy. Just a fair warning! I tried the rice cakes as well as a roll and it was super yummy and flavorful! The bag drinks were really good, I tried the peach and the strawberry. I really love this market because they have so many ready made soups available! They have them in the bag, frozen, or even fresh ones from the kitchen. I love that there are fresh meals and snacks made for sale, so if you get hungry while shopping, you can grab some food on your way out. They have a really nice selection of products and it's a bright place that feels nice to go to (I love grocery shopping). The parking is the only concern because it can get pretty popular at times, especially on the weekends. In those cases it feels stressful trying to find a spot in that little parking lot, but you could park in the plaza anyways if need be. read more

Every thing you need for your Asian cooking and snacking, you can get here. The register area has no conveyor belt, so if you are buying a lot, it can take some time to empty the cart out. Still saw lot of shelves that were still empty, I'm sure those will get filled as time goes by. Essential items are reasonably priced, but some other items are on the pricey side. The store is new, so it's clean, open and aisles look well organized. The kimbaps, doshirak and other prepared food items could be displayed by the cashier area, as it would be more visible... because if it's your first time visiting and you are looking for those, you either need to ask or walk around to find it. read more

It's still during the soft opening. It's really picked over and lots of empty shelves, not stocked at all. Had a hard time finding any freshly prepared food items. It's the last aisle and between the two rows of frozen cases. The fresh Kimbap and spicy tuna (jalapeño) samgak Kimbaps were rather empty, but luckily we caught the staff bringing out freshly made bulgogi Kimbap and some more spicy tuna samgak Kimbap. The spicy tuna Kimbap was good, not spicy despite having small tiny pieces of jalapeños. They have our purple corn tea. The ramen aisle was quite barren. It was nice to see that they have the Buldak Tteokbokki. read more

A new Korean grocery store that is in its soft opening phase right now, located in Southfield, right off of the big highway intersection and Telegraph road and in good company right across the street with New Seoul Plaza, which contains Daebak KBBQ, Myomee Cafe, and KPOP Nara! Tiger Market looks so open and inviting from the outside, and the inside definitely has a lot of potential with how much space they have! The organization of the store makes sense and things are grouped very clearly and the checkout counters are very modern and minimalistic, which is a unique touch. Right now, given that they're in their soft opening phase, I would say not even 50% of their shelves were stocked. There's a lot of gaps, but given the potential, I'm really excited to see the whole selection of what they will be carrying when they are at full inventory! From what I can see so far, there are a lot of great brands represented and a lot of similar products to what I can find at H Mart, which would be a huge benefit to those who might live closer to this market than H Mart. Personally, I live closer to H Mart, but often find myself at this intersection where Tiger Market is located, so I'm sure I'll be stopping by in the months to come to see what more they carry. From what I can tell, the pricing will be comparable to H Mart, which is typically on the higher side, but I can't really compare the quality and more specifics like that much right now given that there isn't a lot of inventory so far. My wife and I are visiting Tiger market for the first time since the soft opening. We are so excited to have a Korean Market closer to where we live. This place is a bit larger than a trader joe, but not as big as a Kroger. When you walk in you will notice how clean and well kept the store is. It is bright and pretty open at the entry. The entryway is full of special deals and hot buys, so don't forget to stop. This place has all of the staples from fruits and veggies to noodles, spices and meats. All of the products are Asian, mostly imported and not just things you will find at the grocery store. We picked up meat to make a Korean barbecue feast at home. They had a good assortment of kimchi and side dishes. The frozen desserts did not disappoint. Some of the prices are a little high, but that is to be expected for imported goods. Before we made our way to checkout you could smell something fresh cooking. They have a shelf in the last aisle for hot limited items like kimbap, onegiri, mandu, and rice cakes. We grabbed several items that we thought looked delicious and they were. The ladies at checkout were super friendly and helpful. They made checkout quick and bagged it all nicely. This Korean supermarket is clean, it is loaded with everything you need to make Korean meal at home. H mart in Troy has more isles and items but I think as more customers know about this place they might put more shelves in there. So far so good. Love their Gimbap and onigiri for lunch. Super ecstatic that a good-sized Korean market opened up closer than HMart! They just opened up this week with a soft opening, so the market is still in the process of filling up all the aisles and fridge with so many goodies. It was really nice to see they have prepared soups in the refrigerated section, along with desserts, drinks, and so much more. They even have a section of k- beauty products and home goods! The aisles can be a bit snug, especially when there's more than one person (with a cart), but with the lighting of the store, you can see everything really well. So excited to see TM finally open and can't wait until they fill up with more! read more

Now officially open! I was excited to see all the Korean goodies and surprises inside and was glad I came in. First thing I noticed was the refrigerated fresh fruits and vegetables section and noticed some fun stuff, including papayas, starfruit, and even passion fruit! For me, I love all the international snacks, so I had to swerve into the chip aisle with the quickness. There was a nice selection of shrimp chips which caught my eye immediately. Lastly, had to checkout the freshly made food section. Grabbed myself a ham and kimchi musubi looking roll, perfect for a to-go snack. They also had some very good looking kimbap choices and banchan, which I will definitely be back for next visit. Lots of potential here, looks like they need to stock more stock of some items but I'd love to see how the store looks in a few months when it fills out. read more

I was very excited to try Tiger Market. We have had our eye on this place for awhile, waiting for it to open. It is still in the soft opening phase, but you can now shop here. It looks like they did not get all of their products stocked yet, but they have such a great variety of products with plentiful variety. We were excited to see frozen and fresh kimbap available. We bought both. While I have not yet tried the frozen version that looks similar to the one Trader Joe's carried, the fresh one was so delicious. We tried the traditional and the tuna. We also got some pouch drinks. They are going to get cups of ice to go with them, but they were not in yet. I had the black coffee Americano which was sweet and refreshing. We bought a variety of noodles. We also got some chips and kitkats. The people working here were very friendly. They also had some yummy mochi and bean paste like samples which were good. The one negative is that I was overcharged for a pack of noodles by several dollars and I did not realize it until I returned home. It was not fault of the person ringing me up, rather the person that originally keyed in the prices made a mistake. I cannot travel all the way back there, so next time I will pay more attention to my charges at the time. It is a nice space with long and packed iles. I do plan on coming back soon. read more

I love this Korean grocery store. We found so many authentic Korean products and items, both frozen and fresh. For the fresh food, the japchae (Korean style silver noodles) and the kimbap (Korean style sushi) looked especially appealing. I ended up buying chive kimchi, which was garlicky and tasty. We also ended up buying lots of HBAF (Honey Butter And Friends) nuts mix - my fave is the injeolmi. If I lived here, I'd get their fresh cold noodles in the refrigerated section; I had them in the SF Bay Area and they are delicious and refreshing. Just a novelty for people who has just been introduced to Korean culture or food. How can you justify marking up things so much? Even Chicago with their higher taxes have lower prices for some of the items. They cater to kids who buy things they saw on TikTok. It's pretty sad and a bit more like a half empty convenient store. So disappointing. You could have don't so much with the location. Friendly staff and freshness of some things I did see so they get the 2 stars for that. read more

Full disclosure on this review: the store is currently on a soft open. Despite this, the store was overall very clean and looked very nice! However, the store wasn't very well stocked (I expect this to change fairly soon given the grand opening should be coming up soon). I will say of the products out and priced, the prices were overall a little expensive. I feel I could get the exact same products for cheaper at Hmart or other Asian stores. This store's location in Southfield though may be slightly more convenient for consumers though! read more

Awesome place! If your looking for some good snacks options or ramen, maybe to try something new this is the best place. They are a little pricier then others and don't have as much grocery items that I would like for regular cooking. But so many options of ramen and ice cream!
