One of their bowls lasts me for two meals, the serving sizes are plentiful. So this review is really geared towards the Pure Green juices and the customer service. I was visiting a friend in nutley and I was sick as a dog so I figured a green juice couldn't hurt my cause really. The woman behind the counter was SO helpful! I asked her what their best juice was and she showed me the Pure Green juices that were refrigerated on the side. Those are cold pressed and have a bit more ingredients than the ones they offer. So she set me up with a green power juice and a shot of ginger for an immunity boost. The ginger shot was absolutely terrible but let me tell you, I felt so much better the next day. It's SO worth it. The green juice was actually pretty good. It was 12 bucks altogether. I mean it's still cheaper than a doctors visit. Overall I really appreciated the help I got from the staff. She was so nice and caring and even whipped out the info packets for each juice. I'll definitely be back to try the acai and oatmeal bowls! The Pure Green juices are really worth it too, if you're in the area and need a pick me up, I suggest it! Update** Stopped in to try the acai and oatmeal bowls! Super super delicious! Decided to have a healthy breakfast because I heard about Tiki Bowls opening down the block from me. I'm not the biggest health food nut but but eating right never hurt anyone. Plenty of parking on Franklin Ave. so no problem there. Pretty cool interior......feel like your down the shore even though it was in the 50's outside. I ordered the Coco Beach bowl which has blended coconut, strawberry, banana, pineapple, and shaved coconut topped with honey. The price was not bad and I even got a discount which was great. At first glance I thought the bowl was small. I have a healthy appetite and I didn't think it would fill me up. That is definitely not the case......I had a hard time finishing it and it tasted great. Everything was fresh and I didn't feel guilty finishing it. This is my first time having an Acai Bowl, which are always being screamed from the mountaintops with praise from my wife Mylene, so when Tiki Bowls opened up in town, I had no choice but to stop by and try it. Opened by a local fireman (didn't catch his name so I apologize), the location stays true to it's name, looking like you just walked off the street in downtown Nutley into a beachfront property, this place is definitely has the tiki feel and has a great vibe. The staff is all friendly, greeted by the owner as I walked in and he seemed like a genuinely nice guy, and made me feel like I was at home. He made some suggestions and I went to the counter to order. I finished with prompt service a few minutes later my bowl to go. When I got back to my office and opened up my bag, at first I was a bit taken aback by how small the bowl looked. However, once I took the first bite, then proceeded onto hovering the contents into my mouth as quick as I can, I realized I was actually quite full (I skipped breakfast this morning and was starving). So no issue now with the size of the bowl now that I sit back fully satisfied with the portion. I'd be tempted to say the place was understaffed but the two young women behind the counter would seem more than enough to serve the very small line in attendance with reasonable speed. While I couldn't say the service was rude, it was painfully slow and indifferent. At one point, about seven minutes after I placed my order and I was the only customer there, the two servers got into some kind of conversation that lasted for several minutes while the order sat there half done. The granola adds a nice crunch to the smooth acai and sweet fruit. The decor in here is so cute. Feels like having a walk on the boardwalk in the summer! Got the Nutella strawberry banana smoothie because I can't eat solid foods and usually a smoothie is drinkable through a straw... I had to eat the smoothie with a spoon. The Nutella in most places are blended in with the smoothie because a smoothie is supposed to be a drink but what I got was a cup lathered with Nutella on the bottom and then the strawberry banana smoothie (with no Nutella blended in) on top. Since the smoothie was cold the Nutella became hard and it was not drinkable. Even if I were not on a liquid diet - it would be impossible to drink through a straw. Quality is always pretty good, but service and friendliness is modest at best. if you want your staff to engage customers get rid of the flimsy and cheap shower curtain used as your covid barrier. A few hundred dollars spent in some plexi glass would go a long way and look way cleaner and sanitary. Its been 10 months since businesses re-opened, so should be ample time to source and install. You also should consider more eco friendly packaging, realize this could add some cost, but a 2-3% price increase would probably cover and packaging would look much better and also be sustainable.
