I brought a coworker with me to put him on Chamorro food, and Island Comfort did not disappoint. We ordered the Two Lovers Plate, the Fiesta Plate, and two empanadas. The food came out hot and juicy as hell--instantly brought me back to family BBQs. Tasted like HOME. Everything hit the spot: the red rice, the finadene, the perfectly marinated proteins--no misses. Highly recommend Island Comfort, and I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Vegas. Also had to cop some t‑shirts and a hat while I was there.

The Chamorro food scene in Vegas is a bit smaller, so finding good Chamorro food is always a treat. The flavors here are spot on every time and tastes like that nostalgic backyard cookout food. The meat is always well-marinated, flavorful, and grilled just right. I usually order the Fiesta Plate, which comes with a sparerib, short rib, grilled chicken thigh, chicken kelaguen, a hot dog, red rice, potato salad, and a side of fina'denne. It's a HUGE portion and feeds me more than once. The servings are generous and I recall only one time I was slightly disappointed when my sparerib was on the smaller end (it was one of the end pieces and you get only one in the meal). If you're in the area and love grilled bbq and vinegar and soy flavors, this is the next spot to try.

HELLO???? WHERE HAS THIS BEEN ALL MY LIFE????…read more Who ever made this poke deserves EVERYTHING THIS LIFE HAS TO OFFER THEM! Everyone helping me was extremely sweet, patient and thoughtful. Yay! First of all, the freshness? Hello... it tasted like they just went fishing 3 minutes ago and cut it up. The variety alone deserves applause. So many options. I got the tako, salmon, rainbow, scallop, and ahi poke, and I regret NOTHING except not ordering a second bowl (I'm big). Every bite was perfectly seasoned, balanced, and melt-in-your-mouth good that I literally could not keep quiet. I was straight up saying "oh my god" between bites... The textures? 10/10. The flavors? 10/10. I would travel the seven seas, walk across the Sahara desert with no water, and braid grass just to be able to eat here every day. If you are even thinking about coming here, stop thinking and GO.

It didn't give the local welcoming kind of vibe. It didn't really stand out in any way. I didn't get to do my usual research prior to coming here, so I ordered the standard staples. 1. Loco moco all rice - Hamburger was bland as well as the sad looking gravy. It didn't give that comforting hug that warms you up with each bite. The burger itself was tough , and I had to cut it with a knife. 2. 2 item combo - Garlic shrimp and bbq chicken with mac salad: Shrimp was a little too chewy, and I was expecting to peel the shrimp. I'm not sure if she took my order wrong. The bbq chicken was the only thing I enjoyed. I was looking forward to the mac salad, but first bite off bat it was salty. Everything after was just as salty. The lady who took my order was alright. She didn't have the welcoming vibe. She was more like what do you like, next kind of thing. Prices were decent. For 2 plates, I paid $30. Would I go here again, probably not.

The meat was way over cooked and hard. I ordered it with over easy eggs and they came out like a mix between over hard and medium. It also came with macaroni salad and that was really good as someone who isn't a fan of mac salad. The teriyaki chicken was much better than the loco moco. The chicken was so juicy and I really liked the teriyaki sauce. The portions were huge as well. I would come back again for sure but would order anything besides the loco moco.

They picked the food up and we met them at their house. My cousin & I had the Lean & Power Protein Plates. Mine came with Kalua Pork & Chicken, 2 sides of veggies & she had veggies & white rice. The guys both had the Teri Chicken with Katsu mac salad & white rice. My cousins MIL had the mini teriyaki chicken & Kalua pork plate w mac salad & white rice. Large portions especially the proteins....nice! Chicken had a tasty bit of char on it, pork was tender and flavored well, rice was cooked perfectly and I tried the mac salad which was heavily mixed with mayo which most expect @ a Hawaiian spot. The only disappointment were the veggies. It was mushy and mostly carrots. I don't mind carrots but I would have liked more broccoli or even some cabbage would have been enjoyable. It's a frozen premix which I'm ok with but I would suggest a different blend with fewer carrots and more broccoli or something with cauliflower, cabbage or zucchini. Otherwise we really enjoy food and I would eat here again. We didn't go to the restaurant so I can't review the service or restaurant itself because I didn't personally experience it. However the food itself was very good. I failed to get any pics, shame on me. It was just as appealing to the eye as it was to the taste buds.

That means lots of meat and rice in a styrofoam container at a reasonable price. This North Las Vegas location on Craig Road has two outdoor patio tables as well as indoor dining. The one thing I like more here than other similar restaurants is that brown rice is the same rice as steamed rice here and also mixed vegetables are an option. We've been here several times now and each and every visit is different so my conclusion is that this place is hit and miss like most if not all of the Hawaiian Restaurants here. I got the same mini plate as last time. Today the Pulehu was very good and it was fresh and juicy. The katsu chicken was edible but seemed like it might have been made yesterday or many hours before and reheated. My dogs didn't mind so I fed them most of the katsu. The brown rice and vegetables were good. I had to feel sorry for my husband. He enjoyed the pork so much last time that he ordered a double pork plate and it was so dried out that he never wants to come back. I offered him food from my plate that wasn't as bad but he refused. We are not big fans of the sauces here but they also forgot to give us the teriyaki sauce we ordered. They did contact us about how they did today. My husband told them and they sent him a link to get a free mini plate. Hit and Miss - Could go either way.
