Finally fulfilled my corndog craving! I'd been on a quest to find a great, hand dipped corndog in this epic food Mecca called Las Vegas. No frozen deal would cut it, and certainly no Sonic drive in. All signs pointed to the World's Greatest Corndog. We live in Henderson and they only get over there once a week or so. Thursday was the day! It was "Corndog Day" that I had marked on my calendar, the day of reckoning when the truck landed in Henderson. The clock struck 5pm and we were off to some random cross street a few miles away. But after about 8 u turns, we spotted the truck atop a hill of a dimly lit street. We parked on the side of a dirt road, and climbed the small hill to the corndog oasis. The smell of fried cornmeal batter filled the night air. We ordered 2 dogs, took that incredible first bite slathered in mustard and got transported way WAY back to our childhoods. This food truck is a hit or miss. I've had the corndog and french fries more than once either because they were at a large event or I went to a location they were present at from their schedule. The corn dog itself is pretty good and it's a good portion to where you aren't hungry after. A miss because it's happened to me twice now where I've driven out at least twenty minutes to their location and they were not there. The first time I sent a message to their IG account and they then responded to me and publicly that they were having issues with their truck. The second time, I asked a couple of people who were around and they advised the truck was there from 11am to 12:15pm instead of 11am to 1pm. I have to say it was the best corndog I ever had, it wasn't greasy, the corn bread was nice and crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. Only downside was that I had no idea where they were located on deer springs and hualapai, my iphone siri couldn't find it.
