I went to the local store in Hyde Park to inquire about the blackout and was told I never had HBO. I'd had it for years but they kept telling me to my face that I never did. Finally someone told me my package had changed. I asked why I'm paying the same and they told me my network package had increased in cost. Fast forward to today, I'd planned on canceling my network package and discovered my HBO had been included all along, and just needed a different sign in. Really angered, having paid for all these months and not knowing I had it. Over this year and a half I've paid a really good amount of money for what amounts to nothing as I rarely watched network - mainly for the news.

Many of us have no state-issued ID, which means we can't handle the business remotely online. Usually we have no relatives in America to provide living places before the lease beginning date for a couple of nights or weeks(considering the speed of new account setting). Most of us just go right forward to Windermere after arriving at the O'Hare and then grapple with the ComEd thing on following days. And then what will happen is, because you can't have a new account immediately, a $50 penalty inevitably appears in your next month's bill. There is a large number of international students in this apartment every year. And this clause in the lease really makes me feel like they are chosen to be penalized.

Solstice on the Park exceeds all of my expectations…read more The common areas and hallways are spotless and consistently maintained. There are three very fast elevators. Maintenance responds very quickly (within a day), and the workers are nice and helpful. Maintenance requests are made via a convenient app. Management and front desk staff are nice and accommodating. If something is wrong with your apartment (e.g. previous tenant left a sticker in the shower, or you prefer non-motion sensing lights in the closet), the staff will fix/change those things for you, or they may give you an option to purchase replacements and have them installed by the staff. Kitchen appliances and in-unit washer/dryer are high quality and top notch. The design choices in the units are very smart (e.g. smoke alarm is not too close to the kitchen). There is central heat/AC. The bathroom lighting is great and the fan is very effective (I take HOT showers and there is barely any evidence of it) while being very quiet. The shower is built with real tile. All cabinets have soft-close, and so does the closet door. The place is less than a block away from the nearest Metra train station. The units have big floor-to-ceiling windows that allow you to take in the views of Chicago (I recommend a north-facing unit to get a view of downtown). The parking structure is clean, and there are many spaces available. I love the flexibility with lease times: you can sign a 3-month lease, a 3-year lease, and many things in between. If you're a student, you may have fewer worries about subletting over the summer. The complex offers a many safety features, including: 24/7 front desk staff monitoring who enters/leaves, secure package room, keys required to access all possible entries, common areas, and gym, and strong front doors with legitimate locks. It's a well-maintained, modern apartment complex with high end appliances, finishes, and features, and hardworking management and maintenance teams. As long as you communicate what you need, maintenance and management are there to make it right. This is a luxury apartment complex, and the rent is expensive, but the product is genuinely amazing. I'm so happy and lucky to be able to call Solstice home.
