My brother won a gift certificate for Tilted Axes and invited me to come with him as it was for two people for two hours. What he didn't realize was there was an expiration date, but thankfully for some nice customer service, we were allowed to use it the day after expiration as we set up in advance a date and time that the facility advised would work - 4pm on a Saturday. We arrived to a majority empty place which turned out to be in our favor. We got a lane to ourselves and almost a private lesson on how to throw from our AxeMaster. There are three styles of axes. Two are two-handed throwers, and then a hatchet which is a one-hand throw. They all have their positives and negatives with their weight and accuracy, but we got enough time to toss them all. Our two-hour session started with 10 minutes on each of the two axes and hatchet. It was almost getting monotonous but quickly we were getting the hang of each one and the characteristics needed to make accurate throws. Our AxeMaster would provide pointers after each throw to improve our skills. Then, let the games begin! We played several games. First was a 20-throw high score wins. Every fifth round you could go for a "kill" shot which was the tiny blue dot on each upper left and right of the bullseye target. 10 points to succeed, zero if you fail. 99% of the time you fail. Second game was to have an imaginary tic-tac-toe board and win that game. Another game was to hit each level of bullseye twice and then end the game with a kill shot. We then played another 20-throw high score. When it came to the kill shot to win, this took a very long time and we almost didn't have enough time to play the second 20-throw. But, I finally got it and we played. Happy to say I won everything except tic-tac-toe. The facility has at least 10 lanes to throw, a small lounge with some video games and pool table, a stage area for bands or comedians, and plenty of tables to stand around and watch the TVs or people throwing. There are competition leagues and Tilted Axes is certified to have them. They sell a little bit of food, but you can bring in all you want and beer, too. If this place was crowded, and our AxeMaster said it does at times, I do not know if we would have had as much fun because of the diminished time you would have had to throw and the hour or two does go quickly. While you are playing your games, you do have the option to switch out which axe you can throw. You have to sign waivers which are done electronically. Don't forget to tip your AxeMaster! We had a great time and our shoulders are a little bit sore. We really liked the experience and would definitely do it again! We had a gift certificate, but I was told a two-hour session is about $42 for one person, and about $25 for a one-hour session. Uh, Nobody should have that much fun throwing sharp objects at a wooden wall, but here we are. This year our company Christmas party we wanted to do something over the top fun and this was EXACTLY what we wanted. Situated outside of Paoli Pike in a warehouse. There is a MASSIVE amount of space in this place. I was kind of surprised. They are a BYOB & BYOF. Delivery menus were throughout the front corridor. They had a huge clean ice machine and coolers for booze (you can bring your own if you like.) As for my night... I have to say Kenny is hands down a pile of C4 inside of cupcakes he was so sweet and full of explosive energy! This guy is really ACE#1 when it comes to pumping you up in throwing an ax. You think you can't do it, them WHAM!!!! I'm tossing the "jack hawk 9000™" like I'm Ted Bundy! This guy was too much fun and adorable to boot. The other instructors were kind enough to stop and help out my other coworkers after they had some trouble. I mean everybody went above and beyond to keep the night the momentum going. Tilted axes literally saved the day for me! I had planned a graduation party at Stumpy's in West Chester and they completely ghosted me, and my party of 40 people, a half hour before the party was set to begin. I quickly called Tilted Axes and Jason, the owner, told us to come on over and he would take care of us! They helped me out of a serious bind and were super friendly, welcoming, and professional. Carly, our host, was also so amazing and kept a room full of Seniors completely entertained. I can't thank them enough for saving me. 10/10 Amazing experience. Went into Tilted Axes in West Chester, PA and was seen with the best people. Love the ambiance of the place, super clean and well sanitized. Met up with Leo who happens to be the GM of the place and he taught us the guidelines of throwing axes. Not only was he very attentive to our needs but he also made the whole experience very fun for us. He came up with different games for us to play and we were able to have a good time. I have been to other hatchet throwing places were they just teach you how to throw and leaves you alone. Granted some people may like that, but to us it was worth knowing that there is more to just throwing an axe to a board. He assessed what we were doing wrong and how we should correct our form thus making each throw more accurate. It is definitely worth checking this place out! Highly recommend it. During this unprecedented time it may be difficult to be in a public setting but from what I've experienced they really keep up with the CDC guidelines making your whole experience safe but also very fun! Your mission statement says that your goal is to make customers feel great with a fun activity. I call Bullshit. A friend and I joined their Fall league for $150 for an 8 session season with them providing us all our own throwing exe. Well allow me to share a few fun facts: 1) we got our axes 10 minutes before the start of the week 4 throws. 2) week 1 they said I threw all 4 games when I only threw 3 games 3) we missed week 3 and made an appt to come in at 12:30 Sunday. The manager was our score keeper who proceeded to field phone calls, book appointments and miss some of our scores by not paying attention. 4) week 5, they again wrote me down for 4 games when I only did 3, and tried to lie about it when I confronted them on it. THAT day, was my last day. I quit after they showed me as incomplete for wk 5. 5) while all of my previous complaints went on, the 2 lead guys were actually throwing in the competition! While they should have been helping, managing, and directing their customers so that customers feel comfortable to bring friends next time, the owner is literally playing the game and beating on his chest that he is God's gift to the "sport" F this place. read more

This place is great! Coach was nice and friendly and helpful with us being first timers. The owner was super friendly and great. We got to throw axes for an hour. They have different scoring/games you can play and screens for keeping score. When our time was up we played air hockey and checkers. Went here on a Sunday evening, just a small family group. We had a great time. Our Axe coach/hostess Stephanie was awesome, and made it so much fun. She gave us all great tips on throwing axes one handed, and the bigger axes two handed. She led us in fun games, we enjoyed popping balloons the best. There's lots to do there other than just throwing axes. All kinds of table games, pool, darts, plenty to do just hanging out. Music playing, and snacks available. The moment I came across Tilted Axes I wanted to make an appointment and check it out. I was pleasantly surprised by both the Amazing Staff and Options outside of Axe throwing that they offered. The moment we arrived we were greeted by a woman who was extremely helpful followed by our instructor who was both friendly and hilarious. He took the time to explain everything and ensure he answered all of our questions prior to us getting started. We only spent an hour of our two hour time frame throwing Axes and he was nice enough to let us know that we would only be charged for that hour and not the initial two that we booked online.
