Splitting Edge in Malvern is a family favorite! Our first visit was during July 2020 and that experience was so great that my sister and father ended up joining the Splitting Edge Axe Throwing League. For first time visitors, you can call ahead and make a reservation. I would recommend that if you're a larger group. You can also show up as an individual and throw some axes more casually... if axe throwing is something you can consider casual. You will need to make sure you have closed toed shoes! You're throwing a sharp metal object afterall. The staff at Splitting Edge does an awesome job walking newcomers (and those of us that are like me and are not new, but lack axe throwing skill) how to get comfortable throwing axes. These guys are seriously professionals, they can give you pointers to help you perfect the craft. I've noticed I've gotten a little bit better and learned that I'm better at throwing with one hand, as opposed to the over the head with both hands style. The price point is really fair for your overall experience. I recommend coming with friends and bringing food and drinks! It's BYOB but there are a few nearby spots (Bomba Taco, Sly Fox, Wegman's) you can pick up drinks if you forgot. They have an awesome back bar area that my family used to set up a food buffet. My most favorite parts of Splitting Edge though... it's pet friendly! And there are tons of games (giant jenga, connect four, chess) to keep you busy if it's not your turn to throw. read more

We just spent an afternoon at Splitting Edge Axe Throwing with our two kids - the four of us had the best time! Matt was so welcoming, gave amazing instructions, cheered the kids on, and kept the vibe on point! This venue is so fun - they have different stations set up for groups and smaller parties, a private party room, and party games throughout. You can play Jenga, connect 4, and more in between throws - great for larger parties. Our group was all smiles throughout our entire experience. Matt made sure everyone was safe and comfortable but also gave us our space to build some fun family memories. I also really like that it was smaller than some of the other axe throwing venues in the area- it delt more personable and less corporate. Highly recommend checking them out for a fun-filled afternoon! Plus, there are several restaurants in the same parking lot for some post game grub! read more

Great times with some great folks! Went here with a few of my co-workers and we had a really good time. Venue is nice, fits the theme and there are games on the tables to play while you wait for your turn, charging ports, and cubbies to store your goods. Fantastic venue, fantastic host, fantastic time! It's not a huge space but they make great use of it with axe throwing stalls, tables to hang and eat at, with cubbies to store stuff. I came for a birthday party and Bennett was super fun and hosted us the entire time ready with a litany of fun games to play, always encouraging and recommending techniques. We were welcome to bring our own foods and drinks and it was a very relaxed and memorable day. read more

Amazing! So fun. I took my son who was turning 29, my daughter and my 72 year old mom for our first axe throwing adventure. Cody showed us the ropes. Safety, how to throw and then gave us tips all throughout our session as we needed. There was someone else there helping to and both were so friendly, helpful and encouraging. We cannot wait to go back again. Next time we will bring drinks though. We were dying of thirst. read more

great experience. BYOB and BYOF (food). You gotta go when PJ is working dude is the definition of personality. Great energy , good helper, and honestly one of the funniest people I've ever met. initially me and my family came in just thinking we'd spend an hour and we ended up staying till close and could've stayed another 2 hours if it wasn't getting late. 10/10 experience, definitely returning especially with all the other great restaurants in the shopping center, this is truly the last piece of the puzzle to have a great little night in Malvern. read more

First time doing this and it was a great time! Come with comfortable gear because you will get hot with the constant throwing of the axe. I loved our demonstrator Mike! He was really personable and funny. He is really what made this even more fun. I love the fact they provide games that you play while you wait your turn or if you want to take a break. They aren't offering any beer at this time due to COVID. They do have a small snack area if you get a bit hungry. The great thing about this place is it's in a great location where you can grab lunch/dinner and dessert all in the same area. Definitely will be back!! read more

WOAH!! You gotta check this place out!! A craftsman's dream! Everything is handmade entirely out of wood. The walls, cabinets, bar, right down to the countertops, all made from live edge wood. Even the decor is all done from antique woodworking tools. The environment is just so cool! Ya gotta see it! Regulation size lanes. Place was clean and tidy. Everyone was super nice and knowledgeable. Two bars literally right next door, and it's BYOB!! Awesome place! Awesome location! Awesome vibe! Can't say enough good things... Came here tonight for a networking event what a blast! Take my word for it you have to come!

A few weeks ago we visited "Splitting Edge" for some initial trial throws and a quick tour of the facilities, and were very excited about the idea for future birthday parties/date nights/etc...  This week we were looking for something fun to do and my son brought up throwing axes, who says no to that?  So I checked their website and tried to book, but their schedule says you can book a lane as early as 9 am, which is a little confusing since the posted hours were 12-10PM.  It mentioned if you wanted a reservation within 24 hours you could call, so I figured that was my best bet.  I got their voicemail which now says the hours are Mon-Thurs 3-10 pm, which confused me further.  I left a voicemail letting them know we'd like to come in and throw, then followed up with an email to bookings@splittingedgeaxethrowing.com just to be sure.  We showed up the next day at 3PM, and it was empty with the exception of a young man at the front desk and maybe 3 people throwing (who we found later were also employees).  The young man asked if we had a reservation and I explained the dilemma (not sure of the hours, reservation system online didn't match when they said they were opened, didn't want to pay and risk showing up when they were closed, etc.).  I was informed they don't take walk-ins and that they were booked.  I asked to make an online reservation since all slots showed as "available" online but was told that's not how it works.  I explained that I both called and emailed with no response and we were told the best they could do was let us pay per throw (10 throws for $5 each).  We couldn't pay for a lane in an empty building with nothing but 3-4 employees throwing axes, because they were "booked". A really terrible experience overall. A few recommendations would be to make sure your online hours and voicemail match to avoid this confusion with anyone else and if you don't take walk-ins, PLEASE make that something you say on the website so no one else tries to walk in when they don't receive a callback or returned email. This whole thing left a really bad taste in my mouth, and that's really unfortunate because I was really excited about having someplace different like this to go and spend some time.  And, now I have to try and come up with another idea for my son's birthday party because he was sold on this idea.
