The presentation was very aesthetically pleasing. The taste was good too. The fritters had a slight curry/cumin taste to them. They weren't crispy though, but rather soft. I believe they were pre-made and then heated up, not actually fried to order. The slaw wasn't over dressed, which is my most common complaint with pre-dressed salads, so that was a pleasant surprise. My husband's taco was a bit small for the price, in my opinion, but he said that it tasted good. It was a rectangle of baked egg, topped with bacon, greens and sprouts, in a corn tortilla. They have a water dispenser where you can help yourself to water. You order at the counter, and pay, then sit down wherever you want. When your food is ready, they bring it to you. Staff were friendly. I learned that the place has been open for about a year. Overall, the food was tasty. I personally found the prices a bit high for the portion sizes and for what it was, but I do understand that they use locally sourced ingredients and they are located in a small touristy town, so this may account for the elevated prices. Street parking only, which may be a bit tough to find during tourist season.

I found it expensive, but we had a good time and it's not a regular thing for us. If you'd like to go more often, they also have a Frequent Visitors Loyalty Program that includes 10 visits for the price of eight. You pay at the kiosk and then open the wooden gate to enter, but it swings back so it took me a couple of tries with the stroller before I did sort of a wheelie with it to use the front wheels to push the gate open. The farm has a park and play structures, play areas and photo ops, a tractor ride, a few picnic areas, little shop, and washrooms. They also have different farm animals, like goats you could feed, chickens, and sheep, as well as a pheasant, deers, and a couple of peacocks. There were definitely more animals, but my little guy was actually more into the park part so we didn't get to see all of the animals. There are also random statues of jungle animals that confused me, like zebras and giraffes, but my little one enjoyed the couple of statues of monkeys with hats at the front that you can sit on and take pictures with. One of the slides has one of those wooden suspension bridges and it's actually quite steep to get up, but has a big slide to go down that can fit both kids and adults. My guy did not wanna leave this one, especially after working so hard to climb up the bridge to get to the slide! Luckily, this is the kind of place where no one judges you for your children having tantrums and needing to leave kicking and screaming lol Definitely bringing actual food instead of snacks next time, and plan to spend more time here, maybe a few hours instead of one or two. Lots to see and do! I'd also love to try the tractor ride. It only runs every couple of hours but the first one was full and the next one went into nap time so we didn't get the chance to ride it.

In 2003 they were acquired by the MTY Group, and they saw almost a doubling in the number of locations across Canada (they have about 45 locations now). Although they have always been a chain, I do find that with time, they have become "more chain-like" if that makes sense. In days past they were more like those little independent panini shops where different types of panini were pre-made and laid out, then pressed to order. Even though the sandwiches were pre-made they always tasted fresh (they'd be made every morning). And there would be big bowls of pre-made salads, like pasta salad, bean salad, couscous salad, etc. Now things are more made-to-order, which you think would be a good thing, but it just feels more like a Subway Sandwiches now, lol. There's only one Cultures Restaurant in all of Ottawa (this one at Bayshore Shopping Centre) and only 2 in the whole National Capital Region (the other one is on Gatineau). There are lots in Toronto and in Montreal. My first time eating at Cultures was in Toronto with my mom when I was a kid. We ate at food courts a lot, it was good times, lol. I do like Cultures in general, but this location is not as nice as the ones in Toronto and Montreal. However, the bottom half of my salad was very full of ... kale. Yay kale! NOT. It's so bitter!
