Bad doctor, bad service. My dad came here, they gave him 3 kind of drugs. We came Walmart Pharmacy to pick up drugs. But they said they need to contact with doctor Samuel for drugs, because this is special drugs. They told us waiting few days. This important is he really need the drugs but its ok, we can wait. We're waiting almost 2 weeks. We come back Walmart Pharmacy, they said they try to contact by phone, email many time, but Samuel don't answer them. They can not give drugs for my dad. How does Samuel take care patients? They call him for his blood test results. My dad said he go to work so he can't come the day they give. Can my daughter come to take the results? They said ok just come. I come the office with appointment. They let me waiting more 30 minutes. After that they take me come the room inside and said they need my dad come, they can't tell me the results. Omg they took my time...why they don't let us know when they call before. UPDATE My parents are elderly and since Covid has been an issue they don't go anywhere out of fear of catching the virus. Dr Shepherds office had called them several times trying to have them come in for blood work to be drawn. Everytime my parents received a call from Dr Shepherds office they would tell them they have no intention to come to the office because they were afraid of getting sick and stop calling. Dr Shepherds office kept calling and stating they had an appointment set up for a specific date which was not set by either one of my parents. My mother had to cancel those appointments set by Dr Shepherds office several times. Doctor Shepherd called my father 2 times to talk to him about setting up an appointment and talking to him about his meds and numbers that are recorded everyday for diabetes. A month later doctor Shepherds office charged my parents insurance for the phone calls that were $33 each call. The insurance company denied the claimed calls and my mother asked the insurance what she should do because doctor Shepherd called them but was never told he was going to charge them when he called. The insurance company stated they will not pay the fee and my parents should not pay either because it was not known or agreed on fee. For being a "Christian" ran clinic you would think it would be ran by higher values. My parents are now going to another doctor now due to unprofessional service and sneaky behavior. This office needs to be closed,investigated,and Dr Shepherd needs to retire. I'm worried how many other elderly people are being taken advantage of. read more

This doctors office over charges you on your copay. I called about my prescription and it said no refills on the bottles,so I called to have it renewed and they told me to come into the office only to be told the prescription was for 6 months and to go to the pharmacy to pick it up and the found out they charged me a co-pay for that..Also the have the dates of my visit messed up showing 4 visits but only 3. Look for another place....They'll rip you off. read more

My family doctor, He's a great doctor with an outstanding staff. I always get the best of care when I go there. Highly recommend.

The first time that I came to Dr. Shepherd's office I met with him and started the weight loss program. Together we came up with a goal weight and he was very thorough in his explanation of all aspects of the program. When I came back to get my prescription refilled, I waited 30 minutes and then was seen by the nurse practitioner student. She was very helpful; she weighed me and asked a lot of questions about how I'd been doing on the program. Then when the nurse practitioner came in, she refused to refill my prescription and was very short with me. This is especially frustrating as I'm getting married in July and need to maintain the same level of weight loss from now until then. I drove an hour each way for the appointment and waited 30 minutes to hear nothing more than "continue exercising and avoid carbs" and left with no prescription to maintain the plan that I'd made with the doctor. It's not right for someone to deviate from a plan that you've made with your doctor that you'd been strictly following and working hard at. I called back to let someone know of my dissatisfication and never heard back from Robin. read more

Dr Shepherd seems to be a good person although I never actually was treated by him. I was always seen by nurse practitioners. The plus is that his office accepts Medicare and Tricare insurance. The biggest problem is that the office really overbooks appointments. The times.that I have used his office, I have had around an hour wait to be shown to the exam room and then usually thirty minutes until a provider arrives. Beth was absolutely rude. Completely unprofessional, narrow minded and rude staff. They could care less about you, they just want your money and to prescribe you anti depressants so they get a nice paycheck I asked For an apology and dr. Shepherds wife attacked me and told me how her staff is perfect and how wrong I was. Needless to remind you, this was infront of patients. They were gossiping about me in front of patients as well. Which is illegal. They are always gossiping whenever I go there. I hate this place and would NOT recommend going here. As a family that recently moved to the state, we asked friends if they knew a doctor that would accept our insurance and they suggested Dr Shepherd. I gave this office several tries and 6 months to see how the staff and office treated us as patients. By far, this is the worst doctors office we have been to. The first visit we had to establish care and get a referral took us 3.5 hrs before we were even seen! The times after that took 1-2 hours before we were seen. These were not complex issues but merely to either get a referral or refill on a prescription. Dr. Shepherd has the worst bedside manner, no care or compassion for the patient, and my family of five hated him. The Nurse Practitioner's are amazing; however, there are several students there that are overworked and under appreciated, simply because Dr. Shepherd has this "I'm better than you mentality." To be quite frank, I know good physicians are hard to find but save yourself the mental drain and do not go to this office. The other thing that is by far the most frustrating about this office is the amount of energy expended to get an appointment. You can call three days in a row, three times a day, leave countless voice mails and no one will call you back. When we asked about the online portal, we were never given the token and as a result it took weeks to be seen by anyone in the office. Next, the front office staff is not compassionate and does not relate, nor do they try to help the patient. You can stand there in front of them for thirty minutes and they will ignore your existence. We are finally giving up and moving elsewhere because if we are going to pay for a service, we should be treated with empathy and compassion, as well as have a doctor with our best interests rather than pushing their own agenda. read more

The service had gotten a lot better and I've been getting out less than 45 minutes. I still miss the old staff because they were more caring and concerning. I like that fact that I can get in and out in lead than a hour. Keep up the good work as far as time just help your patients feel like you're front office staff care. If you have a choice, do not go there. They mess up your billing, try to collect the co-pay you have already paid as soon as you walk into the office. Charge unreasonable fees like co-pay for a preventative health check up. Not only that, Dr, Shepherd will not see you for all the money you paid. We were seen by nurse practitioners both times. I mean I am fine with nurse practitioners if they are well trained and able to diagnose. The first nurse practitioner just recommended us to do multiple blood works that we might not actually need. When we went back, it was a different nurse practitioner analyse the result for us, she had to referred to some internet information to explain the numbers as well as to prescribe something.Overall, unprofessional staff! read more

Being that they are the closest, the next time I needed a doctor, I tried again. They have availability now that I'm already a patient. You won't see the doctor, except for extreme situations. Luckily the staff is on top of it with further testing instead of just giving you pain killers and sending you away. Take Medicare here. Hard to find a Dr. Willing take Medicare. Considering the necessity to see a lot of patients to make this work, they do an decent job. The key to good treatment is to do your own research so you can go in prepared. I have received decent service by the Nurse/Doctor practice need and see Dr. Shepard when I request him. read more

i think you guys deserve a zero-star, unfortunately i could not get any. Have never bee humiliated in my entire life like this before for issue that was literally not my fault. I planed for my annual checkup, scheduled an appointment with this clinic, got there early enough. only for them to pull up my record that im owning them $500+, i was shocked. have been using tricare all these years with them, i discovered they never bill my insurance, no one ever reachout to me that there was an issue all these months. I was made to suffer for their shitty system that lost all my insurance record. because of this reason they refuse to attend to me, keep me in the waiting room, people came in and left, i was there waiting for almost 3hrs, had to stand up and work out of that place, and will never return with my family. thanks goodness im healthy, will look for another physician. read more

This place super sucks I made a yelp account just to rate this place I had an appointment at 3:20pm got called back at 3:30 to a room and still didn't get seen until 4:50. I asked one of the nurses if they forgot about me and she said I was next 30mins later and still nothing I don't understand if I wasn't going to be see until 5 then it would have been a lot easier to get out of work I understand that they have other patients but when they tell me there is a charge if I don't show up or cancel my appt. but then nothing gets done about the wait time when I get there only 2 patients got called before me and there were a couple of people that got there after me but they were seen before me I wish they would have just told me they forgot about me or I wasn't that serious something better then you are next seriously folks GO SOMEWHERE ELSE this is the reason I never go to the dr's read more

It's hard to find not only great doctors but a great staff and this place has both. Every time I've asked for an appointment or paperwork, they are on top of it. They have lots of patients so it may take a day or two to get in to see someone one, but they are worth the wait. Felicia at the front desk is rude, condescending, and should not be in a customer facing position. I only hope Dr. Shepherd is unaware of how poorly she treats his patients. The service level has gone way down, and she is mostly to blame. Put her in the back room working on AR/AP, or better yet, fire her and her nasty mouth! The worst experience ever. I have been going here for a couple years now and everything was great at first and then they made a horrible mistake on one of my regular refilled prescriptions because their computer system was down the day I went and the NP messed up and gave me a 4 day supply instead of a 30 day supply of one of my regular monthly medications. Not sure how any of this happened other than the systems were down at the time. I have been calling and emailing through the patient portal for weeks with no resolve. They just keep telling me that I need to come in to take to the doctor, which means more time off work and another unnecessary co-pay for the visit. Like I told them. Why am I being punished and have to pay for a mistake that they did. Usually they are very nice and helpful but lately and more than just this incident they have not been helpful, courteous, or timely at all. It is looking like they are now just out for your money and not caring about the patient like they used to. The phone staff have been the worst and don't ever expect a returned call. The service level has dropped so bad. Just don't understand. I thought they used to care about the patients. Don't understand why I have to try and take off of work and getting paid and on top of that paying another copay and gas just for them to fix the problem they made in the first place. read more

Save yourself from a headache. The office is very unorganized, poor customer service, they don't call out prescriptions and they send you bills asking you to pay when I had already paid my portion and my insurance too, they don't have no record that they have been paid? unorganized again. Then I email them proof of my paid receipt (not once or twice but several times) and I don't get any reply acknowledging my email, I have called their office to make sure they received my proof of payment and they put me on hold for a long time, not they always say they will call me back. Another thing is that even though it was the same appointment each month for exactly the same thing (I went there for weight loss program and every month they would just weight myself, blood pressure and ask me a few questions about my diet) they would send my insurance company different amounts, they would just make up an amount and send it to my insurance company to see if they will pay it from $115 to $180, when a regular appointment is $84 dollars. I know co-workers they went to Shepherd Healthcare too and they all had the same issues. I can't believe they still in business. read more

I am a seasoned health care provider who sent my significant other to Dr. Shepherd for evaluation based on symptoms of fatigue, headaches, decreased energy, depressed mood, decreased libido, decreased tolerance to cold, and muscle pains that have been present for a period of months. He is a young man in his 30's, therefore this is not normal. I prepared a list of possible causes and requested 2 simple blood tests (TSH and testosterone level) since I was unable to accompany him to his appointment. To my dismay, my significant other stated that Dr. Shepherd reviewed his latest labwork from a standard physical (CBC, BMP, and cardiac enzymes based on an abnormal EKG) and then completely disregarded his complaints and the reason for making an appointment. People put their lives in their physician's hands trusting him/her to manage their health. Apathetic physicians like Dr. Shepherd who lack compassion have no business caring for patients. read more

I hate that am writing this review. I started going here 3 or 4 years ago because it's closer to my office. I am on cholesterol medicine and it took 3 years before anyone suggested a blood test/physical. My prior doctor tested every 6 months because of the high cholesterol meds. I also have diabetes that runs in my family (every female from my mother back) and not one person has thought to test my A1C and keep an eye on it. Only at that physical after 3 years did anyone see that I am now 1/10th of a digit away from pre-diabetic. Blood tests could have found this earlier! This office runs more like a disorganized day clinic, with an extremely high turnover of doctors - I don't see the same one twice anymore. I'm not sure if it's the systems in place, front office staff or doctors, but every single time I call to get medicines refilled, I encounter issues. The most frequent issue is that I'll leave my request with the front office personnel, who state that they will give the message to the doctor. Then I never hear anything again. I have to call every day until it gets taken care of or I don't hear back from them. I've called and been told they've sent the prescription to the pharmacy (they didn't), only to call back and be told that I have to come in. When there is anything holding up a prescription, they NEVER call to let you know. I suppose you're supposed to guess. Currently, the newest "doctor" gave me a medicine refill which shorted me on medicine, instead of looking at my records and seeing what I was getting prior to her seeing me. They have been changing medical records systems for a while now, so MAYBE that was the issue, but I am seriously doubting it. Now, I am on my 3rd day of trying to get this straightened out and am out of the medicine. The doctors all seem nice, but I have absolutely no faith in this doctor's office to actually provide true healthcare. I am looking for a new doctor at this point and suggest you do the same. By the way, they just told me that for all patients on a schedule 2 drug, they are moving you to a schedule 3 drug. So, if you need the stronger meds for pain, you might need to begin looking elsewhere. Policy was starting immediately. Good luck. read more

If I could put no stars I would. I made a yelp account just to review this facility. I went into the office for 3 things: sore throat, chronic back pain and a referral to the OBGYN. I left there in tears because of the lack of humanity/compassion given me by the namesake: Dr. Timothy Shepherd. As we were talking about the main reasons I was there he brought up several weird discussions. For starters, he was pushing his beliefs of marriage before pregnancy on me. He asked if I was pregnant and when I said no he went on to state, "well good. Your whole generation gets that backwards. You should be married before you have a kid." I was actually a little offended that he brought it up. I ignored this comment and I was trying to tell him that I wanted to discuss my weight gain with my OBGYN because it could be one of two very personal problems. He ignored me and continued on to say that if I followed his weight loss program I would be a "pretty, skinny bride" to my boyfriend...little did he know that I just got married so jokes on him..I may be chubby but I am a HAPPY MARRIED CHUBBY WOMAN!!! I am in the healthcare field so I do know the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle - but as I stated there is a personal reason for my weight gain. It has thus far not affected my health and I do maintain a healthy lifestyle. My point is that he passed judgment without listening. He made my visit VERY unpleasant. This was my 3rd visit to the office, and while the other providers in this facility are great, this will be my LAST visit. Please do not waste your time here. read more
