I went first to Aspen dental and was told the only remedy would be to have it pulled. I decided a second opinion was in order so I went to Harris family dentistry and was told I would have to go to the oral surgeon and have it pulled then have Dr. Harris make me a temporary partial. I'm so glad that I decided to get one more opinion. Dr. Carpenter told me immediately that he could not only fix it with a root canal / crown, but he could do it in the same day! I was ecstatic! I've had root canals in the past and they've always been very painful and cost $1000 for the root canal & $1000 for the crown so I was quite shocked when they told me they estimated the cost to be $402 for EVERYTHING! I'm sure my insurance is responsible for this difference but it was wonderful news nonetheless. I have to say that this was an entirely PAINLESS procedure! I didn't even feel the numbing shots! The staff confirmed multiple times that if I paid this full amount upfront, I would not have any additional expenses. They even had me sign a document stating that my total patient responsibility was $440. Despite this, the front desk repeatedly gave me inconsistent billing information during my visit. Still, I trusted their final calculation and paid the amount they said was the complete balance. Months later, I received an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from my insurance company showing that they paid more than expected to the dental office. Yet, five months after my visit, I was suddenly contacted and told that I now owe an additional $245.21. This is incredibly frustrating and feels extremely unprofessional. Being told one amount, paying in full, signing documentation, and then being asked for more money months later is unacceptable. I am very disappointed with the service and the lack of transparency from this office.

Not to mention, one of the staff members messed up the impression so I had to come in AGAIN. After paying almost $2,000 for a crown I did NOT receive, I had to pay to get my wisdom teeth pulled out in order to get the crown. Why wasn't I told this before paying $2k when the Dr had seen my x-rays? They just care about money here and I would save myself the headache and money and not come here.
