We love this school and have from day 1 and this is our 6th year. We have always had great class sizes, great teachers and the Prinicpal is amazing. We get some homework every night, even in Kindergarten there was some. We get almost daily emails from the teachers, as well as using Class Dojo and See Saw apps. If I email teachers or the Principal I get a response the same day. They are willing to meet and work through issues in a positive and meaningful way. We get alerted about tests coming up and why/what they are for; we get information on all their projects - even at Kindie level. We like the PBL units - not all kids need to be stuck behind a desk learning by rote. The kids get to work with other kids in their grade so you are not working with just your classmates all the time, and get to be hands on. They learn to think for themselves, try and try different approaches and each year build on the knowledge from previous years. The teachers and staff bring new concepts in to school and thanks to the fundraising efforts by the parents, there is more technology than ever available to the kids in the classroom - way more than the district allows. Yes there is a fundraiser every year - but the district is constantly cutting funding that some of that short fall needs to be met to keep up and allow the Principal to keep the great teachers. Our teacher turnover is WAY below the district average - in fact last year only a handful of teachers left and they were due to retirement and relocation. The person who wrote the 1 star review is clearly mad - her review appears on every site possible. She is clearly not a fan of PBL but sounds like didn't give it a chance. And do some research - PBL students are as good as or better than those who don't use PBL. All the schools test scores are better that the District average and better than the State average and you can't ask for much more. As a former teacher and parent to 4 kiddos, I can honestly say that this is THE best school I have ever had the privilege of being a part of. My oldest graduated this past year from TTE and is thriving in middle school due to the prep and love he received here. My other 3 are currently enrolled and when we looked at moving several years ago, made a point to stay within this school's zone so that they could remain at Timber Trail. The teachers at TTE are some of the very best around. They are loving, kind, and constantly educating themselves on the best approaches to teach all kids at all levels. My kiddos love school and are excited about what they are bringing home to share with my husband and I. The things my kiddos are learning are not only exciting and keep their attention, but keeps them advancing as 21st century learners. They are challenged when necessary and helped beyond measure when they need it. Timber Trail has some of the highest student to chrombook/i pad ratios in the district. This allows them to learn in a way that is similar to how our world is progressing. The staff at TTE is very focused on creating problem solvers and thinkers and students are able to think through complex problems and not just regurgitate "text book" answers. In my opinion, this is the very best school around and should continue to receive all of the accolades that it has in the past from the district and state! read more

This is literally a five star school. We have had two children already attend from K-5 (who are absolutely thriving in middle school) and another currently in 1st grade and our youngest who couldn't be more excited to start his journey there next year. We choose to open enroll our children at Timber Trail because it truly is a world class education. The staff is among the best you can find in the state. They are eager, compassionate, dedicated, smart and have innovative and exciting ways to teach our kiddos. The attention they give to not only their students, but also the parents is second to none. I feel like I know everything that is happening in not only the classroom, but also the school as a whole because of the amazing staff and principal communication. I also have to sing my praises for the amount of parent involvement in the school. There are countless parents in the school everyday, helping the teachers and students achieve their very best. I love this school!! The teachers are amazing!! The communication is wonderful and each teacher has a website so you can see what's going on in the classroom. The testing scores at the school are among the highest in the state and it shows! Just look it up and you will see. The turnover rate of teachers is much lower than other schools and there are even teachers still there that opened the school! That to me says a lot!! Happy teachers=happy kids. The principle has also been there since the beginning and this helps tremendously with consistency as other schools have a different principle each year. The resources are wonderful!! For example, every student has their own chrome book to use in the classroom all year!! That's awesome! Many schools have to share computers among the students....not this one. There is an incredible community feel at the school, not only have my sons made great friends but so have I! My sons come home talking about what they learned and showing their love of school..that's a win for me!! read more

My daughter has truly enjoyed attending Timber Trail. The teachers are incredible with their communication to parents on a weekly basis. Her kindergarten teacher made her feel loved and welcomed when she had some hesitations the first couple weeks. The staff are friendly and helpful. The school Principle has a huge heart for the kiddos and cares deeply about the well-being of her students and school! The before/after school program is super fun and my daughter actually begs to go to school early and stay late just so she can attend. I choose this school over many others in the area that I considered open enrolling my daughter in and I am very pleased with my decision! read more

This school is fabulous! We originally open enrolled our oldest daughter here for Kindergarten, she is now in 4th grade. The teachers have taken the time to get to know our children and really understand how they learn and also understand them emotionally. It is a great community and amazing education. Class sizes are perfect in the lower grades (18-20 roughly) and a little heavier, but still okay in the upper grades. (22-26). I would recommend this school to anyone! Timber Trail is one of a kind Elementary School. Our 2 oldest kids went to TTE, both with hearing loss. With the help of the teachers, staff and outside help from Douglas County specialists both of them thrived and are honor roll students at RHMS. We now have a 1st grader at TTE and our youngest will start Kindergarten in 2017. I can honestly say it's a great school with smart, caring & ambitious teachers that are supported by a very professional staff. Proud TTE Parent!!! read more

Amazing school with amazing staff!! Both of my children have attended Timber Trail and we could not be happier with the experience we have had while being at Timber Trail. This is my last year to have a student attending TTE and I am starting to get very sad even thinking about the fact that I won't have anymore children there.
