We gave America's Best Value Inn-Staples a down payment of $141.51 for a 4 night stay on September 2nd, 2022. The plan for the Veteran changed within a half hour, so we asked for a refund. It is now January 2nd, 2023 and we still have not received any portion of the refund. This is after contacting over the phone multiple times and stopping in person.

Or the air conditioning in the room. That's the first problem. Ok you are rude whatever right... Well next I come in later that night and my room key dose not work. I go to get a new one and the husband tells me it's my fault and that 3 other rooms that were with me showed up with the wrong key. And it was from another hotel chain. I told him no he talk me I was stupid and I am ridiculous with sticking to the same story. When the key card was a comfort inn and I had not stayed at one in over six months. And the other three guys that were here I had not lived with each other in over eight months. But somehow we had the same card from the same hotel. And on top of that the rooms suck they are small the shower was cold and I can feel the bed spring in my back. This is my first time ever complaining about anything on Yelp but I really feel this strongly I have never been treated like this in all my 7 years. Don't come here!!!!!! I feel bad at even giving this place one star but Yelp makes me

Breakfast quite ample including eggs, bacon, sausage , waffles . WIFI worked fine for video steaming . Staff friendly , efficient and very helpful. We had to extend our stay for three days due to a snow storm . Even though the hotel was full they managed to get us into a bigger more expensive room with a hot tub but charged us the same rate as we were paying before. Indoor pool clean , well maintained. We will definitely stay here again. Really great staff .....

It was so fun to be part of some history and a clear labor of love on the owners' part. We got to read about how Whistle Stop came to be and it was truly very special to be a part of. The details were impeccable, from the wallpaper and sconces to the antique decor. We loved the two person jacuzzi tub, it let us relax and stay warm on a very chilly night! I especially love that breakfast was delivered and we got to eat it on the original benches in the train car. This was a truly spectacular experience. I highly recommend it! The only piece of feedback I have is that the website should make it much more clear that the train whistles can be heard at all hours of the night. We're pretty deep sleepers and only woke up once, but they are LOUD and honestly, if you're a light sleeper, this is not the place for you. That being said, I looked into reviews ahead of time and knew to prepare for this, but the owners should do this as well.

I personally loved the proximity to an active train line and could hear the whistle blowing as the trains would pass from time to time. I intend to stay in some of the other cars in the future. On this last visit, I encountered a host of sad shortcomings: - A room with palpably dirty carpet, a broken TV remote, and dead light bulbs - A cold pool with floating bugs, and dirt and debris in the corners of the room - A continental breakfast where juice and fruit couldn't be found, plus milk served "jug in ice-filled basin" style and a pastry selection mostly composed of Little Debbie knock-offs Like I said, the Eastwood Inn charges a modest price, but not one so low as to validate these disappointments. I wouldn't be as vocal about this if I didn't know that they used to be better. I'll definitely be doing my homework the next time I plan a trip up north to see what else can be found.

We stayed for four days and were so pleased with our Suite providing us excellent views, even in frozen winter. Chris was an excellent host making us the most delicious breakfasts every morning. This is an architecturally unique place with gorgeous views and all types of rooms to relax, filled with thoughtful amenities. We got to tour many of the rooms all with private baths and nicely well done. We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite- a romantic suite equipped with a double Jacuzzi and a two-person shower. It's so convenient on the (frozen) waters edge walking distance to downtown and dozens of restaurants. We walked to many of the restaurants. One of my coworkers stumbled on the red bridge (it's on the hiking trail system) and we have all made it our place to stay when in town for the last several years. Rooms are clean. I travel too much and that's important. Fairly good size. Well equipped with bathrooms etc. They are all different. It's a B&B with the hosts living off site which is not the norm. That makes it quiet!!! There are 7 rooms. The inn itself is on the river. Beautiful setting. Breakfast is what you want. I like a full breakfast. Bam. Friends like toast. What kind? I've seen folks get everything from 'just coffee' to a bowl of fruit or cereal. Just the way it should be Common areas are great. Large deck on the river. Large dining area- tables etc as well as a separate room with tables etc I suspect for meetings and groups. There's an area with couches and tv if that's your fancy. The deck is equipped with grills and a dock - it's on the river and they do rent boats. There's a hot tub. This is not a 5 star hotel. It is a clean well run place to stay wether on vacation or travel for work. 5 stars for me!!

The rooms are very quiet, clean and scent free. The beds were firm but very comfortable. There's a nice pool that's well maintained and kept at a usable temperature. The staff was extremely nice and very efficient. The continental breakfast was a step above average. The dining area was clean and the selection of food was just right. I like that they had some great additions for children, and really aren't we all children at heart? There was a waffle making machine/station which my wife used with the help of the lady who was supervising, cleaning and restocking the area. They had a nice selection of breads and bagels with a toaster. There was also some biscuits and gray with sausage crumbles that you could add if you like. My favorite was the scrambled eggs with smoked kielbasa's on the side. There were little single serve peanut butter and jelly containers as well as butter. There was a refrigerator with fruit yogurt, milk, packages with two hard boiled eggs and for the children there was a fruit cup, apple sauce cup, Brekkies (a soft chocolate chip, oat and flax) cookie and last but not least Uncrustables. There was also single serve cereal containers ranging from mini-wheats to fruit loops. 24 hour coffee service was always spot on. All in all we had a very nice stay at a warm and friendly Inn.
