First impression - older property, maybe pass it up? Don't let a first impression mislead you!! This property has been updated. Very clean. Newer carpet. Bedding wonderful! Wi-fi worked great! Breakfast included. The only fault was that our room felt empty without a cozy chair or couch on which to relax.

I must say this was the best snow in away from home I've had!! The staff.... Extra friendly. The breakfast area was like being at home at your own kitchen table! My room was nice and warm when I entered and very clean!! I would/will definitely stay at Timberlake Motel in the future!!

Broken safety lock on doir.

Free parking is available within steps of the hotel and no need for valet service (unless you want it). I also highly recommend the Skyline restaurant on the top floor for good food and superior service. My only negative, and this is not about the hotel, is that Lynchburg seems to be a dying town (and least in the area of the hotel). I never felt unsafe while walking around (the Lower Bluff Walk is nice), but on a Monday afternoon it felt like a ghost town. Nevertheless, if I'm ever again in Lynchburg I would stay here again.

The hospitality was so genuine. We made reservations at the Skyline for 7:30 and our friend meet us early, so we went to the William and Henry's bar area for a drink. That location is at a lower level. Either location was perfect to eat or drink. We had great service and excellent decor at both. Fish and Chips was one of meals enjoyed on the roof top restaurant , the meal tasted so good it was like it jumped from the water up to that height. The other two had Harvest Salad one with the chicken and I had the grilled shrimp. All I can say it was delicious, nothing left on either plate! Tasha K was our server at the rooftop and I did not catch our other servers name. The whole experience has made us soon to be regulars.

It became obvious to her that rest was needed as soon as possible. The stay in suite 301 was exquisite! Accommodations were amazingly spacious and classy. A truly amazing stay was capped off with a delightful breakfast which was delivered right to the door. I loved my stay so much, one of your fine robes "followed" me home. The building is beautiful. I did not encounter huge problems with noise but there was certainly some from the nearby railroad. The hotel made a point of calling me before I came and offering a generally high level of service. I wanted to give them five stars, but a few too many things just weren't right. Overly slippery bathroom floors, thin blankets that didn't offer much warmth, some bathroom fixtures that didn't work, my mobile key didn't work for some reason. There is one elevator that isn't particularly speedy. Then again, the lobby is a place you'd want to hang around. Their breakfast is a continental style with muffin and yogurt, delivered in a branded shoebox (they offer a GF option, but not vegan). They promised it between 6 and 7, but I had doubts given that my odd schedule required me to leave shortly after 6. But they came through.

Owners Mike and Kathy were welcoming as could be, and made sure our stay was enjoyable as could be. They even went to the lengths of leaving helpful info and the following day's breakfast menu on our bed each evening. The rooms are not only clean and welcoming, but remain in period decor, thankfully with working AC and functional bathrooms :) Breakfast was beyond fabulous- Kathy prepared juices, coffee, yogurt, fruit creations, and a scrumptious French toast croissant with warm green apple slices. To say this place was "quaint and nice" would be doing The Carriage House a great disservice; rather, it is a classy and serene locale, with plenty to do within a 20-minute drive! I would without a doubt recommend this place to anyone looking for a romantic getaway with plenty to do aside from enjoying the country life. To do locally: wineries, rafting, tubing, outdoor year-round skiing, museums, visit Jefferson's other home, bike, hike, dine out, etc. Came with a package deal from LivingSocial.com - and am thrilled I picked this "escape package" - worth every penny.

The only downside was that my room was not super clean. There were crumbs on the carpet, dirty mirrors, and hair in the sink, in the tub, and on the floor. If it weren't for the nice staff at the desk, this review would have not been a good one. Hopefully, this is an easy fix, and next time do a more thorough cleaning.

They had a good breakfast service, but they seemed to struggle to keep it stocked during the morning meal rush. First, the good news. The room itself was comfortable if a bit small for two queen-size beds. The bathroom was solid enough, but it got congested when three people tried to get ready in the morning. Our room was on the fifth floor and had a great view of the mountains. Most of the desk staff were friendly and helpful, especially Nathan. Now for the bad news. First, the beds were very uncomfortable compared to most other hotels in the price range. I usually frequent Comfort Inn and Suites for a hotel, and the Hampton beds felt like sleeping on concrete compared to those. Second, the hotel was GOUGING prices for the Liberty Commencement! It usually costs $122 per night, but during that week, it cost $550 per night because they know that people will pay it. Lastly, my son's Nikes were stolen from the room while we were visiting the sites, and the only people who had access to the room were ourselves and the cleaning staff. The shoes were there when we got up on Friday and gone when we returned Friday afternoon. So either the housekeeping staff stole them or the door was left open for housekeeping and someone else came in and got them. We emptied every bag and looked in every possible place and could not find them. The manager seemed unwilling to believe that this happened. If you need a decent night's sleep, this place will do. However, LOCK ALL YOUR VALUABLES and make sure to NOT come during the LUO Commencement Week.

You will find the front desk staff to be not only full of excuses for this property team's total incompetence (did Liberty's graduation catch them by surprise?), but also brimming with completely useless suggestions (do you have somewhere you can go?). Fairfield Inn & Suites - Lynchburg, VA Stayed: August…read more13-15, 2025 (3 out of 5) My husband and I stayed at Fairfield Inn during move-in week for Liberty University, and we were really excited for this trip. I specifically chose this hotel because it's right on campus--and our room actually overlooked LU! It was such a special touch. Waking up to that view made our stay feel extra meaningful. I'm seriously hoping when we return in October, we can get a top-floor room so we can soak in even more of that incredible campus. I have to give a huge thank you to the evening staff--especially the young woman working while we were there. I didn't catch her name, but she was so kind, helpful, and truly went above and beyond. Sadly, she got a cut on her forehead that night, and we've been praying she's okay. Her kindness stood out, especially compared to the daytime staff, who were polite, but not nearly as warm or helpful. She made a real difference in our experience. Also, the indoor pool? AMAZING. It's large, super clean, and has plenty of seating--perfect for families or anyone wanting to relax. The fact that it's indoors makes it a great year-round option. Loved it! ‍ One suggestion: it would be awesome if they added a hot tub to the pool area! That would really take the relaxation to the next level. I will say--the room was very clean and nicely put together when we arrived the first night, which we appreciated. It felt fresh, tidy, and welcoming, and really set a great tone for the start of our stay. Now, here's why I'm only giving 3 stars: there was ZERO housekeeping during our entire stay. No fresh towels, no made bed, and not even a refill on the in-room coffee. When we asked, we were told it's because the hotel is still under COVID-19 restrictions... FIVE YEARS later. I'm sorry, but that's not health safety anymore--that's just laziness and outdated policy. Guests deserve better. Either resume normal housekeeping or offer a discount to those of us who still expect basic services when paying full price. It's beyond frustrating. Also--small thing, but it made a difference--the laundry room really needs a change dispenser and some soap available for purchase. It would have made washing clothes so much easier and less of a hassle. Definitely something they should consider adding for guest convenience. This hotel has so much potential--perfect location, great amenities, and one amazing staff member who made us feel truly welcome. But until they fix the service side of things, it's hard to fully recommend. We'll likely stay again for the view and the campus access, but I truly hope they step it up by October.

As someone who's worked in nursing homes and had a quadriplegic father I know these are not only expensive but life changing. Your investment to be inclusive as well as provide access to an activity that strengthens both physically and mentally the people who utilize these devices is something I've never seen and was truly emotional over. I intend to tell every one I know, I'm not sure if each is privately owned or this is a company wide practice, I do hope so :), but just that one made an impression that will stick with me for years to come and has acquired my loyalty as a customer. I wish my father could have enjoyed things like that before he passed! You give me hope
