The love & thought poured in Palmera House is visually evident, a true reflection of the designer/owner's essence. Owner, Erica, made booking this space a no-brainer for me. She responded to my inquiry form the same day I sent it & by the end of the day we had a contract in the works. She promptly answered all of my questions, soothed all of my doubts, &, when the original bartender could no longer make the event, she & her husband stepped in to help serve us at the party. Your perspective of a place changes when you become more familiar with the people running it & in this case I've become even more inclined to support this business. Thank you Palmera House!! The rooms are not only clean and welcoming, but remain in period decor, thankfully with working AC and functional bathrooms :) Breakfast was beyond fabulous- Kathy prepared juices, coffee, yogurt, fruit creations, and a scrumptious French toast croissant with warm green apple slices. To say this place was "quaint and nice" would be doing The Carriage House a great disservice; rather, it is a classy and serene locale, with plenty to do within a 20-minute drive! I would without a doubt recommend this place to anyone looking for a romantic getaway with plenty to do aside from enjoying the country life. In the master bedroom, there's a tv, closet with robes, master bath with two vanities, a standalone toilet room separate from bath area. A giant soaker tub and stand alone shower with a bench and plenty of space for amenities. Also in the bedroom is a large desk and two dressers on both sides of the bed.

We stopped by on a Saturday evening in July following a pop up rainstorm. We were disappointed (but…read moreunderstanding) that the tubes were closed following the weather. We opted for sledding on the smaller hill for our children (all of who enjoyed themselves immensely ). Sleds are provided and there's a conveyer they can ride on to return to the top of the hill. Sledding was reasonably priced. The facility was clean and all staff we interacted with were kind and informative. While sledding we discovered we were permitted to take the conveyer to the top of the mountain and walk back down. The view and sunset were stunning and there were very few people around as students hadn't returned to campus. If returning, we would likely have encouraged our sledders to wear long sleeves/ pants for the few (and minor) turf burns.
