Money from large donations were put into sprucing up the common areas to attract new tenants. You are offered an inadequate continental breakfast 5 mornings a week. My loved one has been eating the same oatmeal and a half a bagel for years. There is a charge for eggs or pancakes. You also receive only 2 free dinners a month offered Monday through Thursday only. Kitchen help and food is from a Kosher Catering off sight service. My loved one has experienced abusive treatment by one of their servers twice. It was reported and this server remains employed. Food is very expensive and hit or miss. For what they charge you can do much much better elsewhere.

And when I asked Alexis (who thinks she is better then everyone else..worst customer service in my entire life) she spoke down to me. I own a business and would never have someone like her working for me. Months prior to all of this happening I had called and asked about a one bedroom and Alexis told me verbatim ..they had no one bedrooms available and Knollwood doesn't like to "downgrade" people. I later found out there were 2 one bedroom apartments available. I am now glad she forced me out, I bought a beautiful condo. I will detour anyone from moving into that complex.

I brought the concern to staff and was told that all staff/maintenance people have keys. I asked how they expected people in the pool ares to react if someone with bad intentions came in the area. There are no other ways out! Again they said staff has keys‍*** We are moving due to a job change for my husband. Back in January knowing this was coming, we talked to the office staff who said (prior to us signing the lease) there would be no penalty for breaking the lease after staying for 6 months. We discussed month to month terms and we decided since there wasn't a penalty other than staying for 6 months it worked better financially. My husband stated a new job in March and left the state. The kids and I stayed here to fulfill the 6 months. Now that it's time to leave (in 2 days) I get a statement last week dated 7/1.... That said our fees are $3,900+!!! I don't know that I would have gotten it if I hadn't asked about something else. The office here says they have nothing to do with the lease terms that is corporate. When you call corporate they say it's all done locally. While we have enjoyed our time here, not sure I'd recommend to friends or family. We have lived here for 19 months and have really enjoyed it. Other than the price change between seeing the apartment and the application move in and the 19 months were smooth. Maintenance department is quick and professional. The grounds could be beautiful if they had better grounds maintenance. The weeds are typically 3-4 feet high and EVERYWHERE! There is constant standing water at the drains in the grassy areas. They are doing some exterior painting but painting without fixing the rotten wood isn't going to fix the problem.

The door was locked and when Heather opened I told her I was meeting a client. No response or even a hello. When my client arrived 10 minutes later and we were finally greeted, Heather asked if we had an appointment. There wasn't anyone else in the office waiting. I explained we just wanted an application and we told to come back in one hour. Unbelievable bad service. I've placed so many clients at this property over the years, and always received excellent service until the last few months.

Dana and Scott specifically are great with finding leasing options in addition to when living here always approachable for any questions. Scott is always on top of maintenance (usually within a day) which is very uncommon for most apartments. The staff is very well organized and on top of things. The apartments themselves are great units, never had any issues with living inside. The only drawback I have is the trash dumpsters that can get overfilled. Other than that I don't have any negative feedback. The unit is very well insulated, sometimes you can hear other neighbors but it is rare. The pool area is great and provides a chill atmosphere.

Updated review: Overall good place to stay, but it's pretty pricey for apartment living in the area…read more- compares to condo pricing in the area. Pros: Complex is fairly new (built in 2017 I believe) and they recently built another building. They offer locker services for packages as of July 2019, although I keep getting errors when I try to set up my account. The apartments look amazing inside and have updated features for the most part. There's an outdoor pool area and small gym in the inside. Cons: 1. (January 2019) The lease signing process is a pure headache. The first apartment I came to see had cosmetic damage to the appliances and a counter door off the hinges, on the day I was supposed to sign my lease. When I asked about the options for appliances to be swapped out I was told the appliances would not be swapped for cosmetic damage because it's considered normal ware and tear. Due to the floor plan being an open floor plan that was unacceptable, but of course there were more expensive options available, but the Property Management team made no effort to honor the price for the original apartment I applied to. 2. (Updated July 2019) During the winter there was a few weeks where the trash situation got completely out of control - not only was it very dangerous to attempt to take out the trash because the ice in the walkway wasn't melted, but there was trash overflowing in the dumpsters for several days. 3. (Updated July 2019) These are outside apts so no elevator to get to the top level floors (3rd floor) and there's exactly 20 steps to get to each level, (so 40 steps to get to the 3rd floor) it's a pain carrying groceries for sure.
