I ordered the Chicken Parmesan sub, and it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The chicken was super tender, packed with flavor, and the sandwich was huge. I only made it through half and ended up eating the rest later that night. It was just as good the second time around. My wife had the Spicy Italian, and she loved it. The sweet pickles on it really made the sandwich stand out and gave it an awesome flavor. The atmosphere was really cool and felt very authentic. They also have a grocery section where you can buy authentic Italian sauces, pasta noodles, and other items, which was a nice touch. The only thing that surprised us was the fountain drinks being $5 each, but they do come in a souvenir cup. If you're looking for an amazing sub sandwich, I highly recommend Little Hats. The food was fantastic, the staff was friendly, and Germantown itself is a great area to walk around and explore. There are tons of cool places nearby. The bagels are best toasted with a smear - this hides a bit of the dryness. - no one in the deli but it took about 5 minutes for the order to be ready - ie grab 4 bagels and throw them in a bag. We stood there and watched while everyone looked at each other and waited for the bagel-packer expert to emerge and put the bagels in the bag - 4 bagels, no toast no cream cheese was $16 out the door. Seemed pricy but I guess that is new norm. Me thinks this is more of a hotel stop if you are staying in the Union / not a destination if you are craving un toasted bagels. Next time we will hit our new favorite bagel place - Ugly Bagel in the Arcade around the corner.

I walked in and saw a cooler full of awesome stuff; I grabbed a small contained of the "FBP" potato salad (they had several types) and perused the menu. My choice was made once I saw "Muffuletta". They offer it heated or cold; of course I chose cold à la Central Grocery style. The counter case was filled with tempting baked goods; I selected a bacon and cheddar "stuffed pretzel" and a plain pretzel with salt. I specified my order to go, paid, and grabbed a seat at one of the eat-in tables; my order was ready in about 4 mins. I hit the road, but couldn't resist sampling the bacon/cheddar pretzel on the way; it was phenomenal. The muff was perfection. Round "pretzel-ish" roll studded with sesame seeds, stuffed with meat, cheese and olive salad, and wisely cut into 4 pieces (a 1/4 of the Sammy was a sufficient lunch for me, along with the first class potato salad). This place hits on all cylinders; highly recommended for sandwiches, salads/sides and pretzels in East Nasty!

But now, I have a special place in my heart for that cake. Do not miss Fatbelly Pretzel when you're in East Nashville. Try anything they have on the menu and you will not be disappointed. On an early wrap Friday in mid-Spring, I found myself in need of an adventure and a sandwich. Looking for both, I wound up at Urban Sprout. I parked on the street (huzzah!) and walked in to find the couple who owned the joint just waiting for (a customer like) me. We delved into conversation about the origins of the cafe, where they moved from and if I had ever had Polish food before (yup. Can't be the CM for Yelp Chicago without being well-versed in Polish food). I asked what they'd recommend and I got to ordering: chicken pesto sandwich, Polish potato salad and a chocolate chip cookie. They got to making my order as I walked around the space. Before too long my food was ready and I was on my way (with a sincere farewell). Arriving home, I was excited to get to eating. The sandwich was delicious, the perfect size for lunch. The bread was crunchy on the outside with just the right amount of chew. Rather than a ground up protein, the chicken was cut in thick layers, topped with arugula with a generous pesto smear on the bottom. The potato salad was packed with vegetables (celery, pickle, carrot) and not overly mayonnaisey.
