This market was really amazing, we came back twice! We ate lunch here then did some shopping at the souvenir gift shop in the center, and then took some natas to go. The next night we came back for dinner and boy was the place packed! The key is to place your order for your food, and wait for a seat to open. You'll need at least 2 or 3 people to do this and hold a seat while a friend goes to order their food. The seating situation and being a shark to look for seats can get frustrating, but the patrons here are pretty nice and will make room for your party to expand if needed. The food here is simply amazing and there are so many options, but we didn't have one bad meal here so I recommend all the places! Portugese steak, can't go wrong with that. Loved it! If you are only in Lisbon for a few days, this is a great place to sample a lot of different food from some great restaurants. It's a very neat concept. Several of the stalls belong to Michelin star chefs. Their restaurants were impossible to get a reservation at, but at Time Out Market you could still sample their food. I am conflicted to write this reivew. I am not sure how I feel about the Time Out Magazine running this place.. but they do have a bunch of high quality food at upscale fast casual vibe. Food was good as expected although prices seemed a bit too high. Any seafood option will not disappoint you there... If you are traveling through Lisbon, don't just eat at this place, go over to the other half of the building and check out the indoor farmer's market. They have awesome produce very cheap and it does give you more of "authentic" experience. Time out market is a nice place with a lot of choice to eat and a lot of place to sit. I've eaten already a couple of times here and the food is good every time. A great place to have a no frills meal during your stay in Lisbon. A short walk south from the main center of city in a hip large hall with a ton of places around the edges of the place. There is pretty much everything. There were some lines for some while others didn't have as much business but definitely still a good bet. I chose one option that was doing a rice and clam soup dish. They were also serving wine which was a great accompaniment to the dish. The issue here is looking for a seat. The place is popular so you have to scout and hover to find an area for you and your group to enjoy the food. Overall, for around $15-$20, you get a great meal in a very casual environment. You can stay here for more wine and drinks or head out and walk a short distance back to a number of bars. I can see why all the travel sites tell you to come here. Wow! This market is intense. Very crowded lots of buzz but all for good reason. This place is amazing! The food items are delish. It is hard to choose but the tuna Takai from Confararia is one of the best I've ever had! The scallop and lobster tagliati at Sea Me was beyond amazing. As was the cod from the corner over. I love the drink stations in the middle. I went twice while and Lisbon and had better meals there than some of the top restaurants. Good luck finding a table! A tourist trap with waaaay overpriced food. If you're just going to be in Lisbon for a stop, or a day, it's a good way to see a lot of the food but the portions and prices are hardly samples. I liked the soup shop, And the sardine pizza was really good, but the whole experience was just ok and not overly enjoyable. We came here at 9 pm and the market was jammed packed with people. This market is full of wonderful vendors that serve traditional Portuguese food to pizza, to drinks and dessert. They have the vendors along with perimeter of the market and places to sit in the middle. Great vibes and atmosphere. You can even wine and dine in some of the vendors by the bar area. I probably walked around in circles three or four times before I figured out what I wanted. TimeOut is the best place for seafood and wine. Perfect for brunch and lunch, bring a bunch of friends so you can try dishes from multiple places, but beware that seating is limited, so it might take you a while to all sit together. Groups of 2-3 are probably your best bet to find seating and have some variety without walking out overstuffed. This place attracts locals and tourists and offers some of the best restaurants and people watching. While a lot of the dishes are fish, for those not a fan of seafood, you'll still have plenty of great options. TimeOut also offers live music, booths selling flowers and succulents, and pastry shops. There is enough variety that you should be able to find something in your price range that interests you. Additionally when I was there in the neighboring hall a flea market of sorts was happening. It was mostly people selling rare/old coins, but the space also appears to function as a farmer's market some times. Also, there is free wifi available. read more

I really appreciate seeing what you get ahead of time but things can get pricey when you start moving from stand to stand. I stumbled on this place as I was strolling around Lisbon, and I was so impressed! On that particular day it was my Canadian Thanksgiving, so it was such a great experience to be able to share a 'communal' meal with those around me. This is a fantastic market where you will find many different types of cuisines, with food outlets outlining the periphery, and dining areas with communal tables in the centre. I came here several times during my stay in Lisbon, and on each occasion, it was quite packed. I chose to purchase food from several establishments including 'Chicken All Around' where I purchased the Piri Piri Chicken that was quite tasty (but the service was horrible), including a seafood establishment where I ordered a 'marinated salmon with guacamole'; I was expecting a hot salmon dish, although perhaps due to language barriers, I was given a raw salmon ceviche. It was quite tasty, although I was a bit surprised.... As mentioned, there are many types of cuisine available as it is more of a tourist destination, so in addition to traditional Portugese cuisine, you will also find sushi, Italian, North American comfort food, and and great international desserts. This market intrigued me so we checked it out as we landed on a Saturday night. It was soo busy and there was many restaurants to chose from. Our uber driver had recommended one with 2 michelin stars so we tried the cod and the beef sandwich from there . Henrique sa pressoa was the name of the chef. It was a bit pricey bit the food was good. It wasn't worth the price though. I think its worth checking out once for the experience but it's not somewhere I'd eat multiple times. This place is great when you don't feel like cooking. There is always a nice atmosphere around here. Time Out is a big market where you can buy not only made food ( in the evening ) but also fresh ingredients during the day. When you enter the main hall in the evening you get overwhelmed by choices. This place is AMAZING! It was legitimately a favorite of my visit to Lisbon. This market is so lively late into the night. You can count on discovering both innovative and traditional dishes, all phenomenally executed. The menu is carefully curated. There are businesses with very traditional foods like ham (presunto), sardines, and seafood rices. You can also find some very creative desserts and Asian fusion. There are some stands where you can get a beer or some fancy cocktails. Furthermore, I was surprised that all items were very reasonably priced. There are apparently 2 michelin star chefs in this line-up, yet you can get most entrees for under €12. With the liveliness comes crowdedness. It's pretty difficult to find a seat to enjoy your food. I love love this place. The tartaria is amazing. We've tried the salmon, herring and beef. All were fantastic. Each of the dishes were well balanced, surprising to your taste bud. The seafood place next to it you must try the mussels in a creamy leak sauce. That sauce was amazing! Don't forget those egg tarts. I went to Chef Alexandre Silva's spot and ordered a Barriga de Porco (pork belly with teriyaki glaze, green pea purée and grilled bok choi) 10.50€, and an Imperial (Superbock beer) 3.50€, which was light and ok, not my kinda of beer. The pork was nicely seared, fatty and soft with just the right amt of teriyaki flavor. I think they could have added some garlic or spice to the pea purée.
