NOPE. F*** you guys. So remember how I said we had abysmal internet speeds for a solid 2 weeks? Like, 0.00000001kb instead of the 5MB we pay for? (btw, 1MB is equal to 1,000kb) Time Warner said they would credit us 2 weeks and cut our bill in half for the month. We pay $70. Bill comes and it's $57 instead of the $35 I expected. So they credited us about...6 days. I wouldn't be that peeved about a couple of dollars but the TWC guy was very precise about his wording, telling me to expect to see half a bill next month. Obviously they can't do math on top of providing godawful internet speeds. We're downgrading to 30mbps because 9 days out of 10 we've been getting 25 or less (25 on good days, 10 on most). In the past I have said a few unkind words about Time Warner, not very often. A close relative regularly goes on a rant suggesting I switch to Direct TV, although I believe he is a Time Warner customer. However, I have remained loyal. Last night, at midnight I reached for the cable remote control and it was no place to be seen. I cast a suspicious glance at my husband and he shrugged, looked under two chairs and marched off to bed. For the next hour I looked for that remote, even checking the refrigerator. If we still had a dog I would have suspected that she had eaten it. I was so upset I almost couldn't sleep. Upon awakening, I searched another half hour to no avail. I thought sure that when I phoned TW they would say, "How can you be so careless?" or, "Too bad, one to a customer." or possibly, "A replacement will cost you $125." Got on the phone and happened to reach a representative in San Diego. I explained my dilemma, almost tearfully and he chuckled and said he had a similar experience. He advised that one could be mailed to me, but if I went into the Palm Desert Office I could have one that day. "Sure" said I, "what will the charge be?" "No charge," he replied. Well, you could have knocked me over with a remote. This afternoon we drove to the Palm Desert Office of TW, walked in and immediately the representative, upon hearing my problem, handed me a brand new, wrapped in plastic, remote control with two spanking new batteries. I thanked her profusely. To celebrate our good fortune, on the way home, we stopped at McDonald's for a strawberry-banana frappé. Delicious and refreshing! Oh, that McDonald's! TWC has some good employees and good cable/internet/phone service when it's working but the harsh reality is TWC is a giant monopoly (to be gobbled by that other overbloated monopoly Comcast.......imagine the customer service and pricing/package nightmares are actually going to be worse). Why is TWC constantly bombarding us with "customer surveys" after dead-end/degrading calls, virtual assistant Amy who somehow doesn't understand my questions, live online chat with TWC across the globe.........endless surveys to unlock the "mystery" of what their customers want. Rather than bore everyone with our NIGHTMARE trying to set up and be accurately billled for basic cable and phone service for our 95 year old Grandma, Instead of answering one of those endless TWC surveys, here are some thoughts so TWC can finally uncover what we customers hope for in a cable/internet/phone provider: *fair pricing whether a la carte or one of those impossible to decipher or constantly morphing and curiously no longer available in your area "packages". Yes TWC needs to make a profit but their outrageously manipulative and deceptive and frankly fraudulent pricing/fees/promotions/"analysts recommendations" border on criminal. *accountability..why can't you or the next TWC employee you are begging to honor what was quoted/promised ever reconnect with same agent who quoted a price, service level, or "fix" but somehow didn't happen or price/promo "never available and shouldn't have been offered". Here's a thought: confirmation# given to customer and notes accessible to all (especially to our friends in overseas offices we are increasingly dealing with throughout the world). *stop outrageous fees, especially when you force us to trek to a "convenient" TWC store, take a number and wait, schlep an overflowing bag of boxes/modems/cabling coaxial, ethernet, hdmi/splitters n' jacks with a booklet we can only pray can deliver on it's "Easy Connect" promise. Alas, when you have successfully navigated the labyrinth of set-up directions only to discover TWC defective equipment/faulty wiring causing a failure in promises of an "Easy Connect", TWC will actually help with a "Rescue" call so a tech will come to your home.... for a "nominal" fee of $49.99 even though TWC's own equipment/wiring is defective. Unbelievable. At least the tech is nice and efficient. *channel listings!....is it really so much to ask for a channel listing (printed on card stock.....in color but we'll settle for black and white). It would be great to be given one for each stack of teetering equipment piles picked up at the TWC store. This would be an improvement of trying to print a PDF file that isn't legible and uses up vast amounts of ink cartridge or begging TWC to mail a copy that curiously requires 12 days. These are just a few thoughts but there is so much more that can be said. I wonder if TWC will ever read this but let's face it, they don't have to do anything because it's far more profitable to issue survey after survey and maintain their "sales/upgrade/new pkg pricing" practices. read more

The representative servicing my city contacted me in a timely manner, even answered questions on a holiday, and texted me information I requested. The installer was on time, courteous, and efficient. The cable service itself is great, and the internet is the fastest and least problematic I've ever had. After my sister-in-law had service at this location for 4 years, Time Warner was unable to connect the same services. The technician said the cable wasn't grounded and would "burn our house down." The construction crew couldn't figure out a solution and left. After one month, TWC still had no answer for us other than saying we should just "be patient." We cancelled everything and had Verizon up and running within 5 days. Despite cancellation, TWC tries to keep billing us for services we never received. This means monthly phone calls to have the bills reversed, time on hold, etc. If you have ANY other option available in your area, I encourage you to avoid TWC at all costs. read more

The repair tech had called my cell phone, not our landline, at 4:30 and left a voice mail that he would be here in "a few minutes." Never showed. We never left our home all day and had no calls on the TWC landline that's associated with the account. I have no idea why they call my cell phone. Oh, we live in a guard-gated community and we are notified immediately when someone comes through the gate coming to our home. TWC never came. I have never in my life dealt with such a bad service company. We have phone, internet and 4 TV boxes and pay a fortune for it. Problem is TWC can't keep any of it working consistently. Their in-store service is fine, and usually friendly. However, the service itself.. Internet, TV, etc is very shotty.. Never stable and always drops. However, due to their monopoly many of us are forced to use them or have nothing. I was ripped off for about 5 months. My Internet was running at 6mpbs when I was paying for 30mbps.. Extreme difference. I finally had a guy come out who told me the last time warner guy installed not only the wrong device, but a faulty one inside my wall that brought in the cable service and wasn't strong enough to even support 2 cable boxes. I was offered zero compensation and called a liar by the phone support when taking my claim. I've never been so disgusted with a company/service in my life. read more

After being the customer of another cable company for years I was very disappointed in Time Warner. I looked online for pricing and was surprised that a lot of the "deals" they had listed weren't really accurate or didn't apply to me. The website makes you think that prices for internet are ala carte, but I found out the prices apply only when they are bought in a package. The agent kept talking about this fact being in "the small print" but the fact is that it just isn't there. He actually said that is marketing and they just do that to get people to call in. Unbelievable and deceptive in my humble opinion! Of course, the problem is that we really don't have a choice other than satellite. Maybe I need to look into that! Horrible customer services. We signed up for time warner cable a week and half ago. They gave us a cable box that didn't work, we called tech support, and they were no help. They told us they would send a technician, they were no show twice, never called or canceled. We called at least 10 times to schedule a technician, and everytime we got canceled. We had to pick up another box, return our old box. Technician finally came out, and fixed our issue. read more

We had a date with a technician that afternoon to transfer our cable boxes and set up the modem and router. After he messed around for a few hours, he managed to disable everything.! He said the house needed to be rewired and left. Thanks to him we had NO phone, NO Internet and NO TV for more than 3 days! The company did nothing to get someone else here any sooner even though it was the fault of their personnel. The Web site's payment system is a hassle to use. The TV service is as good as the other top-tier providers but pricey if you want lots of bells and whistles. The remote is not intuitive. Internet service has been excellent for the most part (a minimum requirement these days for cable companies). Customer service (phone) is OK. Customer service at the bricks and mortar place is mediocre. Maybe it's not the people; it's the look of the building and the interior that is so depressing..... I am sick to death of the problems with Time Warner cable boxes, they are extremely slow and half the time they don't work. We have had to take our boxes to their offiice to swap for a new one on several occasions. What a major problem to try and find all the programs you have set up to record all over again. Not to mention that if the season is not running now you can't find all your programs. It seems very odd that any cell phone company can copy over the phone list to a new phone but a huge company like Time Warner can not clone your recording list. If they would stop changing the look of their programs and work out the real bugs. Maybe they could turn around their reputation. In the past two days I have had to reboot both my boxes, I am always getting a message that this service is not available at this time, try again later. Service goes in and out in the Desert way too much. Had terrible issues - service techs out to my house 3x - in 2 months. Got lotta BS about causes - TV, phone, internet- all on/off all the time. FINALLY one savvy tech seems to fix the problem. No issues for a month now. Wish I had his name - he was the only tech to really dig into the issue and solve it. Time Warner Cable is just horrible company. From the start, I have had problems ranging defective modems to getting charged left and right for everything. I can't believe how much they are charging for services (fees for modem, fees for wifi, fees for removing a service, fees, fees. fess!!!) For Cable TV, Standard Internet, and phone services, TWC was charging me close to $170 a month. Then when I called to cancel my Cable TV, they were willing to reduce my bill to about $110 a month for the same bundle. Can you believe that! They could have offered that deal from the start. But no, they were greedy and wanted a larger profit margin. So I canceled my cable TV. Guess what? There's a downgrade fee of $30. In Los Angeles, I paid around $60 a month for standard internet and phone services through AT&T. Here in Palm Springs, TWC wants $80 for the same type of service. And because I have had their service for 2 months, I don't qualify for any of their promotions (new customers ONLY) ie. $19.99 for phone and $19.99 for basic internet. In less that 30 minutes this evening, our televisions has gone out 4 times with error messages that reads "Acquiring Application Information" and then you have to power up cable box. the WORST ! I need verizon because my house in Tahoe does not get ATT wireless and Verizon does, etc. Here, my house in Rancho Mirage was receiving wireless. Then 2 years ago it just stopped. After several visits to the vz store, no clue. Tech support tells me the tower is the same and do not understand why the stoppage. They even tried to tell me that not areas are covered !! ... and that I must have done construction to my house to abort reception, which i did not do. Their 'executive office' gave me a bunch of platitudes and no solution. Of course, re-checking the tower was too much bother for them. 2 years later, I have to pay TWC for internet service. The cable guy came to set up Internet and cable TV service. I bought a TiVo and told them that when I made the appointment. Cable guy says I must program TiVo before he will install anything. I told him I need Internet to hook up and program the TiVo. He said he wouldn't hookup the TiVo or Internet. A catch 22. I need Internet and he wouldn't because I had a package deal with the TV. So now I sit here with no internet and no TiVo so I can't watch tv either. Biggest idiots I've ever dealt with. You'd think this was the dmv. They over charged me, after being on hold and transfered from Marlin, then Shawn and they refused to let me speak to Jared, I was transfered to Lori in billing and got no where she just kept on repeating herself when I asked for her supervisor I was tranferred to Velly or Elly who was also no help and refused to let me speak to her supervisor Judy. When I asked her if the only way to clear this up was to go to Direct TV she agreed. In the end I went directly to the office in Palm Desert they looked at my information and removed the charges. This was incredibly frustrating morons that you have to deal with at Time Warner. She forgets to include 2 cable remotes, I have to return to the store for remotes, who hires these idiots? I go home and spend more time hooking up all 3 devices and have to call a number to activate them, HA! After another hour, nothing. I call for tech support, finally someone great, a girl forgot her name. She went through each device and after another hour we finally got everything online. Time Warner deleted my email address. How does that happened. I noticed i was getting a new emails so i called. 8 hours latter 2 customer service reps, 3 advanced techs. They tell me that it was deleted & a new email was set under my sons name. How can they do that? The tech informed me i have to have my son sign a letter that i can have my account back. I asked how does this happen? He said Spectrum hired a bunch of foreigh workers to help with the transistion & they made huge mistakes. I quickly changed all my emails to gmail & changed passwords. This was very time consuming. Can you imagine if i had to reset a password & it goes to a deleted email address. I would be locked out. VERY SAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more
