I wish I could give them a zero...basic internet and streaming TV (no special channels, packages, not even ESPN) and rate has gone from $129 to just over $157. I cancelled our service, turning in all equipment on 8/28/23 and the agent never advised me that we were considered month to month customers and would have to pay through the end of the service month which was 9/23/23, because I cancelled 5 days after the billing cycle began! I called tonight when I received a billing notice as I thought our service was cancelled on 8/28. I could only get the "company policy" quoted over and over and over. What a poor way to deal with people, especially since earlier in the day I went in to discuss how to lower my bill and they told me they couldn't help me and I would have to call to make any changes. Lousy customer relations. I now have a service that gives me far almost 30% less and the internet rate is guaranteed not to increase. read more

Spectrum made a mistake setting up our billing and as a result increased our price by $15 a month without warning. We got the price back to what they told us it would be but they don't know how that happened so they're keeping the $15. It's too hard for them to make the correction and refund the $15 or take it off the bill. read more

The one star should go to the tech who came to our house. He was patient and got us new equipment. On the flip side, the service with Spectrum is horrendous. We experience frequent outages in Little River, SC and very slow service on many other days. The customer service "voice jail" loop is awful, too. I've had Time Warner since I bought my home in the early 1990's, but in the last month, it has been nothing but many multiple calls for customer service & and absolithely no resolution whatsoever. I have been a customer for many years and will be disconnecting all services with Spectrum. Customer service has drastically declined. The experience that I have recently had in North Myrtle Beach has cost me at minimum 4 hours of time as well as a friend trying to assist me with disconnect 3 trips and also 3-4 hours of time at the store. Nyasha, at the store, is the worst example of a customer service employee we have encountered in a very long time. Her expressions, tone and condescending attitude literally made no sense and I am unsure how her supervisors can stand by and allow her to behave in such a manner. Spectrum service is subpar and they raise the rates every few months with additional fees. The fee for the regular TV channels (ABC, CBS, NBC, etc.) is double what other providers charge. They have so many miscellaneous fees it is ridiculous. The TV service is very undependable and the Internet is slow. It's unfortunate that there are so few options for Internet and TV in North Myrtle Beach. They don't seem to care about their customers at all. When I spoke to customer service the service representative was out of state and didn't even have Spectrum services. She recommended that I get and antenna for my TV and get a faster Internet provider, so I can stream broadcast TV and much more for less money. read more

My experience with TWC in North Myrtle Beach has been consistently positive. Having been a customer of this company for several years, I've had few problems in the first place, with my service offering great performance and a near-100% uptime (for internet, at least; I've never used the TV side of the service). However, on the rare occasion that I've required assistance, TWC and their folks have always been fast, capable, and friendly, from the front-desk receptionist when paying my bill, to the repair man when they once had to roll a truck to my place. After reading the other, negative reviews here, I'll say that, perhaps, I'm just lucky in my dealings with TWC; but, for what it's worth, I have only good things to say about it. Spectrum cable shuts off several times a day all by themselves. Their guide and DVR do not work several times a week. You get an error message. I have cable and internet from Spectrum and the bill is over $120 a month. I only get 120 channels and 40% of them are shopping channels. Can't wait to move back to eastern NC in 2 weeks and switch to Suddenlink. Checked their prices today and you get 220 channels and internet for less than $64.00 and they guarantee that price for life. No contract also. read more

This company is the worst. They send out mailers saying you can upgrade your internet to 400 mbps for 25 dollars more per month. When I called to add this to my account they then inform you that there is a 50 activation fee to do so. No mention in the mailer they send out. This is the worst service I have ever had. The internet only stays up for a few weeks then goes out. Then I have to call and talk with someone in another country I can barely understand who tells me to unplug and plug the modem back in like I'm a complete moron! Finally after talking for an hour without any resolve they'll schedule an appointment for a technician but if you don't answer the phone when they call you're automatically cancelled no matter how many times you call back within the next 5 minutes. Sometimes they just say they call and really don't so there again your appointment is cancelled! Good luck dealing with these horrible people. I had basic cable with time warner for 28 years then spectrum bought them out and we were forced to get those boxes for our TVs after they shut off hundreds of peoples TVs that hadn't come into get the box .For days there were crowds of people at their Inlet office with no TV service at all trying to get these boxes and the day I was there ,days before they shut everyone's TVs off I was number 97 Waiting in line to pick up my boxes with only two customer service agents trying to wait on these hundreds of people I had to bring a folding chair from my car to sit on ,because there were so many people waiting and was there for three hours . I then was told they would give me two boxes for free for I think it's two years but if I wanted to use my other two TVs which I had cable on for all those years I would have to rent two more boxes and my price was more then spectrum new customers since I was a Time Warner original customer . I couldn't afford to pay for two more boxes so only got one more ,my guest bedroom tv sits unuasable. Since I have gotten the boxes it has been nothing but problems , it took me hours to get them hooked up and the cable length was too short they gave me to reach my TV when I called for a longer length they said I would have to go buy one from a hardware store. For over a month I couldn't get channels 7 fox and channel 10 NBC in the kitchen ,then they went off in the bed room . Next sometimes the remote won't change channels , sometimes when you turn the box on the tv won't come on then sometimes it says your Tv will be with you in a moment which drags on for hours . I swear I have to take a blood pressure pill to call them for service help ! I waited two hours to talk to a rep last call because the recording tells you they can call you back but if it's at night no one ever does. When you finally get to talk to someone they can barely speak English they are outsourcing to I think the Phillapines . She told me it would be a week before I could get 7 and 10. Finally they sent a truck out I got it back on in the bedroom and it lasted a week in the kitchen then went back off . This week the cable has gone off twice for hours. They should pay us to use their terrible service . This morning I turned the tv on in the kitchen and the tv said it would be right with me 15 min later I could finally change channels . I'm on the way over to HTC to change companies they say when you call for help you talk to a service person in Conway SC not some foreign country so I'm crossing my fingers that it is better ,no boxes with them and all of my 4 tv s will be on again! And it's less expensive! I took the still wrapped in plastic ,box and all it's parts I had never opened or used because I couldn't get behind the big wall entertainment center to hook it up in my living room,it was never used . I will be curious to see if I get any refund for it since it sat in a bag on the floor for a few months of course they could have charged me 45 .00 to come here and hook it up which I couldn't afford ,we seniors live on a social security budget and Spectrum will be longer be in it ! read more

I was in the NMB office on Tuesday. The woman behind the counter with the blonde hair was VERY unfriendly. All the other representatives seemed to be at least cordial, if not out and out friendly. I was very polite and friendly to her but that same basic courtesy was NOT extended back. There was no verbal communication in regard to setting up the equipment. Just a bag shoved at me and told that I needed an adapter blah blah for an older tv I had. It would be very helpful to ADDITIONAL point out the need to ACTIVATE the equipment, once installed. Yes, it is in the instructions, but something that should also be emphasized, verbally. In regard to the older tv connection, there are basically no instructions - verbally or written. There is a small picture on an adaptor that is difficult to understand unless you are familiar with cable speak, of which I am not. That being said, my experiences on chat and over the phone have been very pleasant and I received the necessary help needed. I will be calling today, so that I can finally get the older tv connected to the cable system. Seriously though, this individual at the NMB location should not be working with the public. Unbelievable how screwed up this company is. They signed up an Internet account to a party I do not know who is renting at a condo I used to own. I thought I had that resolved. Opened an account for my new condo unit and they set up the account with the previous owner. Dropped Frontier as the Internet was too slow to even get e-mail never mind Netflix! Went with TWC as the speed is much better and then I get saddled with another burden. Spent the last five days trying to get resolved and they make the same mistake again. And they are not regulated by the public services commission. How bad can you be?? read more

I saw twc commercial for 14.99 internet. They claim it's not a promotional deal. Not true. I have been paying 39.99 for just internet for years, but when I called to get the 14.99 one lady tells me it won't work if I use wifi. Not true, another lady on the phone says it's only for NEW twc suscribers. Doesn't say that in the tv commercial. And still another guy on the twc phone says he would be happy to fix that for me, dissapears for a while then switches me to another person. I am getting the run around. Had to cancel my security. The property management sent maintenance to the wrong unit and my alarm was set off. I contact spectrum to find out why the police were not sent. I was told they weren't sent because my system needed to be rebooted. No one called or sent mail corespondent to inform me of this. So I was paying for a service that didn't work for month this is extremely upsetting. I canceled service and was told they would send me a box to return the equipment. They never sent a box and charged me $120 for unreturned equipment. Then they claimed they couldn't send a service representative to retrieve it because my bill was outstanding. They cause my bill to be outstanding by lying about mailing me a box to return the equipment. Stay away from this company they don't care about service they just trying to milk you for money. I was never refunded for the months of security I didn't received and they blamed not rebooting the system on me which is BS. Do not go with spectrum your life will be miserable when trying to resolve an issue. First they made me switch to a box. I had 100 channels with out a box. Then when they gave me the box I got 12 channels. They said I needed to upgrade My bill was 30.00 If I upgrade it was going up to about 90.00 to get what I had without a box. So I cancelled the tv service. I also had phone and internet. Security system through phone was off for 2 months they never called to tell me the line was not active, but I was getting charged. So I cancelled the phone line that was running my security. Then they said since my phone line was cancelled now I am not a bundle and my price will go up another 10.00 for less than I had earlier. but since I was an existing customer I can not get the promo deals. That I have to cancel all services for 30 days and resign as a new customer to get the promo prices. I was getting 30 megabits down load speed and they were charging me 97.00 So I cancelled and whent to HTC and am getting 200 megabits down load for less 79.00 also if you call you are sent on a wild goose chase and never getting the issue resolved. I have my own business and if i ran my business like Spectrum does I would be out of business. They have a Manopaly going on. If you have another choice I recommend going with there competitors your life will be a lot easier and less stressful. read more
