I believe John has a great heart but my deck was redone by them and although he pointed out it was 1inch off (sloping) towards the pool. Over the years it has sank more , The build was very good, The longevity of this part of the deck is disappointing read more

John came in and demolished the sun-room as per my request. He then tore up the old splintering deck and replaced it with a beautiful new one. As I have a dog, I needed fencing all around. The fencing was beautiful and I'm sure added tremendous value to my house. He did all of this in three days and cleaned up and carted away everything. We own a wood frame row house (circa 1842) in Brooklyn, New York. We feel strongly about keeping our front stoop wood, due to the historic nature of the home. However, over the years it's been a nightmare to maintain. Finally, the faux wood manufacturers have developed a product that looks like wood, is available in period molding, railings, etc., and can be painted. We hired John of Timeless Decks because of his experience with exterior wood and faux wood construction. In the earliest conversations and meetings with us, he shared his thoughts and concerns. Other contractors blew us off with comments like, "No worries. Yeah, I can handle this." My husband, an engineer, drew plans for our original stoop, and is very exacting in his construction views. John, though he sometimes rolled his eyes, complied with my husband's wishes at each step along the way when he agreed, and argued when he came up with a better plan. We really appreciated his very thoughtful attention to a difficult project. Difficult project? Though it's small, reproducing an historic stoop is exacting. Trying to deal with construction on a busy Brooklyn street is beyond exasperating. There are two schools on our block, plus a subway stop. Pedestrians and traffic are non-stop. There is no access to our back yard, where the work needed to be prepped, except through our narrow hallway. John and his crew dealt with all this in good humor. John was always on site and involved in the actual construction. He completed the work in a timely manner and we though his charges were absolutely fair. The finished project is exactly what we wanted. Neighbors and strangers have stopped to admire our stoop. It doesn't look NEW, it looks OLD - but in mint condition. read more

I recently installed a semi-above ground pool and wanted to finish it off with a deck up against it. I started my search for a deck contractor looking at the usual sites for reviews. I came across Timeless Decks & Renovation and decided to get an estimate from them as they were local and received positive reviews. The owner John came out to my property a couple of times as I considered different configurations. He made some recommendations to help me select the best choice to meet my space and budgetary needs. I received estimates from a few other contractors, but ultimately deciding on using Timeless as they had the most reasonable price and John was very helpful in terms of making the right choice on materials and configuration. He explained what was involved in the project, from where the materials would be stored, what type of equipment to expect on my property, how long he and his crew would work each day and how long the job would take. He and his crew were very professional, coming and leaving on time, using a tarp over their work space before putting any equipment down and finishing with a yard clean of any debris left from the construction. I felt comfortable with them on my property, even leaving them alone as I had to work during the construction. I'm extremely happy with the finished product. It came out exactly as I wanted it and the workmanship is outstanding! There were a few tricky spots as the deck and deck steps butt up against the end of an oval pool, but they were able to make the integration look natural as if the two were designed to fit together. I could really tell that John takes customer service seriously as he did what he could to make sure I was happy with the construction experience and the final product. We had a 600 square foot poorly built pressure treated deck which had served us well and was the focal part of my yard. Removal of the deck was not a consideration based on the overall landscape design. This said John understood our hesitation based on the cost of such a massive undertaking . That said his crew professionally utilized material i had bought when i thought I could undertake the project and continued to work with me until the completion of this project. John completes the project and stops and checks each day the progress or minimally the next morning. The deck is beautiful and each day I enjoy it and reflect on the cost and say I did ok.
