(Which in these times are very crucial) I saw Tomika wiping down the chairs and washing/sanitizing her hands several times. I had scheduled a color consult as part of my appointment, but the salon failed to do it during my visit. When I asked for a refund, they refused and told me I'd have to come back. During the color service on the return visit, the result was noticeably wrong and took significantly longer than expected. I left with wet hair. When I raised the issue, the owner had the colorist reimburse $15 for product out of her own pocket but would not acknowledge that the color wasn't what I'd asked for and refused a refund. A correction was scheduled for the following week. When I arrived, no one was prepared to receive me. The colorist told the owner she didn't know what to do and asked for help. The owner's response was a smug grin and no guidance -- she showed no concern for me as a customer and made it clear through her demeanor that she considered this entirely her associate's problem to figure out, not hers to take responsibility for. I returned a third time the week after that, sat for another four hours, and left with hair that was now multiple different colors in visible bands -- worse than the original result. The repeated processing also damaged my hair's curl pattern. I now have to purchase bond repair products out of pocket to restore the damage, wait several weeks for my hair to recover, and then pay another salon for a color correction. In the meantime I've been wearing a hat on video calls because the result is too unprofessional to show on camera, and I have an in-person client meeting coming up. Every interaction with this salon left me close to tears -- half because of the state of my hair, and half because of the owner's dismissiveness. I would not recommend this salon for any service -- go to American Mortals for curly cuts, or Architeqt Salon for color.

There was no shape and no volume; I could do (and have done) a better job on myself, in the dark with manicure scissors. They comped the whole experience, most likely so I wouldn't write this review. Three hours later I found another salon to give me a pixie. The rescue stylist confirmed that Irene's hack job was every bit as bad as I thought. I now have MUCH shorter hair than I wanted, but at least it looks intentional.

I enjoyed some wine as we chatted about what my hair goals were and she absolutely gave me the haircut and color I asked for. I waited a couple of days post cut to report back on my experience to see how it was after I washed it- it's absolutely perfect, the hair cut, the color - I'm in love with how I look, I feel like we brought back my natural color in a dynamic way and the cut is easy to style. What was really genuine was Irene's candor about the process. She told me if I had any issues in a few days to let her know and we'd work it out. That is a true artist and stylist. I highly recommend Irene. The space is also really beautiful at Plume, one of the nicest salon bathrooms I've ever seen. I felt welcomed and really enjoyed my experience.
