Also, my initial appointment was scheduled for 3pm and they changed it to 2:45 pm without even giving a courtesy call to confirm the new time was ok. They just sent an automated text with the new appointment time. I left work early and had a bit of a drive to go there. The girl on the phone also had an attitude. After we discussed some date and times I mentioned that I was on the heavier side and wanted to discuss expectations with photos to promote her business. I said I wouldn't be comfortable with doing a bikini shot (like most of her clients do on her IG) but would still show the before and after in a different way. After I mentioned that part- she changed her tune and said "she'd let me know if something opens up" and ghosted me. Never heard from her again. Personally, it was shallow and rude and if you look at her IG page you can see she is only concerned with "thin" or "skinny" girls who fit a certain mold. I always love to promote body positivity esp since some heavier girls can be self conscious about a completely nude spray tan. But instead I was ignored. I was happy to take my business elsewhere and had the most amazing (and accepting) spray tan at sugar + bronzed. Go there instead, you will pay less and have a better experience.

I had Riley as my hair cutter - I was chopping off a good bit and had very specific ideas of what I wanted for my hair: shoulder length, a little bit of a curtain bang (and short, so it falls out when I have it in a ponytail). She added the idea to add a little bit of layering to give it movement given my hair type. She was expedient, efficient, and gentle and did a WONDERFUL job on my hair. I went in today to get a trim and a maintenance cut for my layers, I first came to subculture in…read moreJanuary and loved the results so I decided to return. The picture in the blue shirt was how my hair came out after my first visit. Today I returned and told the stylist (Mo) I wanted to maintain my length and trim as little as possible if needed. The chair was positioned facing away from the mirror where I could not see my hair being cut because she was sitting down on a stool during the entire haircut. I showed her the first picture as a reference and said I wanted the exact same thing, that cut was 7 months ago so my hair grew a few inches since then. I was expecting the same result with a little added length since my hair has grown since then. At least 6 inches were cut from my hair and the layers are barely visible. I am very attached to my hair and have been growing it out for years I use very minimal heat and never dye it to keep it healthy and long, I am extremely dissatisfied and cannot express how upset I am with these results. It will take a minimum of a year for my hair to grow back to the length I want it.
