Very beautiful place but called if I could come in for gel x nails and wasn't told that I was gonna…read morewait over an hour for a walk in. Super disappointed and time consuming. Also, it seems like only one or two people do gel x nails because other people were attending before me even though I got in way ahead.

A few times it was fine, not great but fine, but some of the technicians need training to not damage your nails. Once I went in and got gel polish removed and she was so rough she put a dent/pit in one of my nails that took a while to grow out. I've also had two different people clip my cuticles so aggressively I bled, which has never happened to me anywhere else. The last time it wouldn't stop bleeding where she cut me and instead of waiting a few more minutes she started to paint over the cut, at that point I had it and told her to just remove the color and left. I don't want to constantly leave a place worrying if I'm going to get an infection because they gave me an open wound. In addition they take appointments but then don't actually hold a spot for you, so you either have to wait a while or awkwardly sit in a pedicure chair to get a mani. It's a shame, I hardly get my nails done anymore because there's no good spots nearby.

I posted a similar review on Google, too. I wanted to share…read moreit here because I've been seeking a new stylist, found Irene here and absolutely loved my experience. Irene understands hair, listens, is great with feedback, talks you through the process and is overall a great conversationalist. I enjoyed some wine as we chatted about what my hair goals were and she absolutely gave me the haircut and color I asked for. I waited a couple of days post cut to report back on my experience to see how it was after I washed it- it's absolutely perfect, the hair cut, the color - I'm in love with how I look, I feel like we brought back my natural color in a dynamic way and the cut is easy to style. What was really genuine was Irene's candor about the process. She told me if I had any issues in a few days to let her know and we'd work it out. That is a true artist and stylist. I highly recommend Irene. The space is also really beautiful at Plume, one of the nicest salon bathrooms I've ever seen. I felt welcomed and really enjoyed my experience.

So even though Irene failed to introduce herself, didn't listen, and cut my hair in grim silence aside from a few oddly hostile remarks, I trusted that she'd give me a competent bob. She did not. When she handed me a mirror to check the back, I was shocked. It looked like I'd been run over by a lawn mower. There was no shape and no volume; I could do (and have done) a better job on myself, in the dark with manicure scissors. They comped the whole experience, most likely so I wouldn't write this review. Three hours later I found another salon to give me a pixie. The rescue stylist confirmed that Irene's hack job was every bit as bad as I thought. I now have MUCH shorter hair than I wanted, but at least it looks intentional.

For me personally, getting my nails done is the ultimate form of self care. I always feel 1000% better when I have a natural looking, but beautifully decorated set on my hands. Prior to finding Majestic, I had done both gel and acrylic, but I've since switched to dip with Gel Designs, which is what Lina specializes in. Never in my life have I had my nails look this wonderful, and I truly, truly mean that. I'm not even currently in the office, and all of my colleagues want to see my nails whenever we hop on zoom meetings. Lina is such a sweetheart and I genuinely enjoy my appointments with her. I always make sure to let her know what I'm looking for prior to the appointment just so she can be prepared with colors, supplies, and appropriate time and whatnot. I'm so appreciative that she takes her time and it really shows in her work. I walk away with my beautiful little works of art on my fingers and I could not be happier. I saw a couple of others in reviews commenting on prices and I'll say this: if you want a $35 set, they're going to look like a $35 set. If you want quality set of nails, that look gosh darn GORGEOUS, come here. You get what you pay for. You're paying for someone to take their time, and make your nails look beautiful, and I'm personally willing to pay someone for their artistic craft. Thats what this is. Nails are art. Pay artists for their work.

I spent months looking into into IPL and seeing how it would react with other skin products that I use. I decided to make an appointment for IPL, however, I then found out I had an interview 3 days after my appointment so I emailed the place to see what their thoughts were. I got an email stating that it wouldn't be a good idea because my face would be darker before falling off, which I already knew so I agreed as well. I decided to just come for a consultation and a facial. When I got there, Maxine was very confused as to why I was there. I explained it to her, and she said that I could still do IPL. I was nervous. I showed her every single product I was using on my face and all it's ingredients. I told her that I was nervous about IPL because of my interview and she insisted that my face would actually look better rather than worse because she did not feel that I had much hyperpigmentation. She also went ahead and said " I met people like you before" making fun of the fact that I actually do my research and get nervous about procedures on my face. I don't know about you but this is a normal way to react to your own face! My face was burnt-- first degree burn. I sent pictures to Maxine the next day and she said " I didn't anticipate for your face to be sensitive". She then wanted to give me a " calming facial" but told me to come that day. I couldn't come. She was also closed Sunday and Monday I believe because the nExt day she offered to as Tuesday. I don't live in Philadelphia, and I had to go back to work- and last time I checked, facials don't cure first degree burns. She then sent me some hydroquinone for my face to my house to use-- 2%. This is something you can just get over the counter. This Wasn't anything special. She doesn't offer any money back, no refund, no nothing. I basically paid almost 200 dollars to add dark spots to my face and burn my face. I don't recommend this place to anyone. It's just throwing your money away.
