The doctors I saw came across as dismissive, rushed, and condescending. Instead of feeling heard, I often felt like my concerns were being minimized or brushed aside. Questions were not fully answered, and discussions about my health frequently lacked the detail and explanation that patients deserve. I sought care because I had legitimate health concerns and abnormal findings that warranted follow-up and discussion. Rather than receiving thoughtful guidance, I often left appointments feeling more confused than when I arrived. In some cases, information documented in visit notes did not reflect the depth of discussion that actually took place during the appointment. What makes this especially frustrating is that the nurse practitioners and APRNs have been excellent. They took time to listen, explain why testing or follow-up was needed, and treated me with respect. My experience with the emergency department was also positive, professional, and compassionate. This review is not directed at the nursing staff, APRNs, or emergency department. They have consistently provided better communication and patient-centered care than any of the physicians I encountered. After three different PCPs and the same experience each time, I have lost confidence in the physician care provided by this clinic. Patients should not have to feel talked down to in order to receive answers about their own health.

I came for acute foot pain and swelling and was seen and recommended treatment all within the hour. There were others waiting as well but this office is super efficient and professional. Got blood work (for preexisting condition) to cover all bases, prescription and x-ray order as well. Feeling much better and recovering nicely. Super happy with medical care in Hawaii, thanks!

But I can assure you, my review is 100% true and even resulted in additional $150 of medical bills because his clinic sent tests out to another clinic, which billed me separately. Excuse me? After paying so much to Kuhio? And Kuhio never even bothered to tell me??? I called them, and they offered to "fix" the problem for me by billing me "only $100" additional "if I paid today." They are out only for your money and do not care about you. They knew we had no insurance and did not give a f*ck, so do not believe his garbage about "uninsured discounts."

It was a nasty cut and the whole situation was honestly terrifying at the time. I'm a little late writing this review (it's now February), but I'm finally fully healed and I've been thinking about how grateful I am for the team at Doctors of Waikīkī. Dustin did incredible work on my stitches. The injury was pretty bad, but he handled everything with so much care and precision. You can tell he really knows what he's doing, and I felt like I was in good hands the whole time. And Tabitha truly made the experience so much better than it could have been. She brought such positive energy into a really scary moment. She kept me calm, made me laugh, and helped take my mind off how painful and overwhelming everything felt. That kind of kindness really sticks with you. The whole office had great energy and a genuinely caring team. Even though the injury itself was awful, they made the experience as good as it possibly could have been. Funny enough, if they heard what happened after I got back to Sacramento they'd probably be surprised -- and maybe a little pissed -- because a doctor here took my stitches out too early and I ended up having to let it heal as an open wound. But through it all, I'm finally fully healed now, and I'm really thankful for Dustin, Tabitha, and the whole team for helping me through the start of that journey. They turned a really scary moment into something I can actually look back on with gratitude.

My wife just had to fill out the forms that's located at the counter then proceed to the cashier window . Less than 5 mins we were in and out of that place . So if you're looking to get a TB copy or a TB skin Test just head on down to this location. Located on Lanakila Ave right across from the Lanakila district park .

I went in today for a TB chest X-ray, and unfortunately, my experience with the X-ray technician,…read moreHeiro, was extremely disappointing. I completely understand that medical facilities have rules and procedures that need to be followed. However, instead of simply explaining the procedure and/or the rule, Heiro repeatedly responded, "We have to follow the rules!" in a very dismissive and unfriendly manner. The issue was not the rules -- I am perfectly happy to follow them. The issue was the way I was spoken to and the complete lack of communication. A simple explanation would have taken less than a minute and would have avoided the entire unpleasant interaction. Instead of being guided through a medical procedure, I was made to feel as though I was being reprimanded for not already knowing their process. So, for anyone going there for a chest X-ray, here is what I wish someone had simply explained to me: When you enter the X-ray area, wait until the technician tells you what to do. When instructed, go into the changing room, remove your clothing from the waist up, and put on the blue gown with the opening in the back. Then wait until you are called and given the next instruction. It is a very simple process. Unfortunately, if you don't already know these steps, you may be made to feel as though you have done something wrong. Working in healthcare requires not only technical skills, but also basic communication skills, patience, and respect for patients. Rules are absolutely fine. Expecting patients to know those rules without explaining them -- and then speaking to them disrespectfully when they don't -- is not. I would have given this experience 1 star because of the way I was treated by the X-ray technician. However, the reception staff were very nice and helpful, and I don't think their good service should be overlooked. That is the reason I am giving 2 stars instead of Zero. I'm writing this so the next person knows exactly what to expect and hopefully avoids having the same unpleasant experience I had.

I was a patient of Central Medical Clinic all my life until recently from when they started at the Kaheka Professional Center before moving to Kuakini Medical Plaza! I eventually left with the doctors recently when it was sold to Adventist Health Castle. My former Primary PCP doctor in the past would referred me to other specialists within the same building to make it easier for us. Eventually most of my doctors in the building just so happened to retired around the same time! It's a sad reminder that I'm getting old and as we aged, the more doctors we see! These doctors must be way over the retirement age since I'm near that retirement age. My two siblings' doctors are still with Central Medical Clinic and are in their mid to late 80s! Two of my just retired doctors, owned their own practices and office space, so when they decided to retire, they are trying to sell their practice/office space. -I still have a couple doctors at Kuakini and I decided to go back to Central Medical Clinic for my mom's PCP. I convinced my mom the walk from the parking lot to the office is much shorter since she struggles walking long distance. I'll tell you why I like Kuakini Medical Plaza! The parking makes the difference! Parking on the Plaza (not the 2nd tower side) is so much easier to park. Diagonal parking (with double lines I think) and the drive up is either the odd or even floor levels and you exit on the different floor levels. Just that the parking lot floor numbers doesn't match with the same floors of the building and it can be confusing at first. For the handicap patients, they can be dropped off in front of the Kuakini Medical Plaza. The walk to the office from the parking lot is so much closer than the walk from Kapiolani, Straub, or Queens' parking lot to the doctors' office. That was one of the deciding factors to return to a doctor at Kuakini! There are connecting floors from the parking structure to the building. The 2nd and 3rd floors of the Plaza are connected to the parking structure 3rd floor & 4th floor of the parking structure. The parking lot level that leads to the 3rd floor of the building, has some stairs. Once in the building, you can now catch the elevator to the floor of your doctor's office. There's a directory on that 1st level , 2nd floor and I believe the 3rd floor. Oh, there's another elevator on the top corner side of the parking structure that can be used to go to the hospital side now after Covid. it's not for the elevator to use to enter the Kuakini Medical Plaza unless you get off at ground level and walk over. The basement level comes down near the former gift shop. I use it to go to the imaging at the Hospital since there's no imaging place in the Kuakini Medical Plaza on the first level anymore. The Pharmacy, Diagnostic Laboratory, snack shop, & bathrooms, are still there on the ground level of the Kuakini Medical Plaza. Nice thing to know that the bathrooms in the building are open and no need to get a key to use the bathroom which is nice! *Note, Kuakini just recently installed a new parking paid system. You can pay through the metropolitan app on your phone but I rather pay at the booth. Central Medicai Clinic gives a discounted parking slip and theirs was $1 off. Validation varies on each doctor's office. There is someone at exit booth to help with collection of payment, applying the discount and if you need a receipt, but it's upon request. I asked how do one pay on the app with the doctor's paper discount. She said to scan the QR code at the doctor's office which includes the discount and not the QR code in the parking lot. The nice thing is the parking is free for the 1st hour!

Medical care in Honolulu, Hawaii…read more.. I used to visit this building when my doctor was here. I switched Physicians, but I still come here when I bring my mom to her appointments. Kuakini Medical Plaza is right next door to Kuakini Medical Center, where the hospital is. There's a convenient lab on the ground floor. Parking is free for the first hour! This is great because mom's doctor is quick! (My former physician ran late most of the time and talked a lot, so I usually had to pay... uhg!) The only downside is the confusing way that the parking structure connects to the building. We usually park on the Third Level, but it connects to the Second Floor, which is Central Medical Clinic. Just remember that the Parking Level is not the same number as the connecting floor number - and that only parking levels 3 and 4 connect to the building... LOL! Good luck!
