The doctors I saw came across as dismissive, rushed, and condescending. Instead of feeling heard, I often felt like my concerns were being minimized or brushed aside. Questions were not fully answered, and discussions about my health frequently lacked the detail and explanation that patients deserve. I sought care because I had legitimate health concerns and abnormal findings that warranted follow-up and discussion. Rather than receiving thoughtful guidance, I often left appointments feeling more confused than when I arrived. In some cases, information documented in visit notes did not reflect the depth of discussion that actually took place during the appointment. What makes this especially frustrating is that the nurse practitioners and APRNs have been excellent. They took time to listen, explain why testing or follow-up was needed, and treated me with respect. My experience with the emergency department was also positive, professional, and compassionate. This review is not directed at the nursing staff, APRNs, or emergency department. They have consistently provided better communication and patient-centered care than any of the physicians I encountered. After three different PCPs and the same experience each time, I have lost confidence in the physician care provided by this clinic. Patients should not have to feel talked down to in order to receive answers about their own health.

It was a nasty cut and the whole situation was honestly terrifying at the time. I'm a little late writing this review (it's now February), but I'm finally fully healed and I've been thinking about how grateful I am for the team at Doctors of Waikīkī. Dustin did incredible work on my stitches. The injury was pretty bad, but he handled everything with so much care and precision. You can tell he really knows what he's doing, and I felt like I was in good hands the whole time. And Tabitha truly made the experience so much better than it could have been. She brought such positive energy into a really scary moment. She kept me calm, made me laugh, and helped take my mind off how painful and overwhelming everything felt. That kind of kindness really sticks with you. The whole office had great energy and a genuinely caring team. Even though the injury itself was awful, they made the experience as good as it possibly could have been. Funny enough, if they heard what happened after I got back to Sacramento they'd probably be surprised -- and maybe a little pissed -- because a doctor here took my stitches out too early and I ended up having to let it heal as an open wound. But through it all, I'm finally fully healed now, and I'm really thankful for Dustin, Tabitha, and the whole team for helping me through the start of that journey. A simple explanation would have taken less than a minute and would have avoided the entire unpleasant interaction. Instead of being guided through a medical procedure, I was made to feel as though I was being reprimanded for not already knowing their process. So, for anyone going there for a chest X-ray, here is what I wish someone had simply explained to me: When you enter the X-ray area, wait until the technician tells you what to do. When instructed, go into the changing room, remove your clothing from the waist up, and put on the blue gown with the opening in the back. Then wait until you are called and given the next instruction. It is a very simple process. Unfortunately, if you don't already know these steps, you may be made to feel as though you have done something wrong. Working in healthcare requires not only technical skills, but also basic communication skills, patience, and respect for patients. Rules are absolutely fine. Expecting patients to know those rules without explaining them -- and then speaking to them disrespectfully when they don't -- is not. I would have given this experience 1 star because of the way I was treated by the X-ray technician. However, the reception staff were very nice and helpful, and I don't think their good service should be overlooked. That is the reason I am giving 2 stars instead of Zero. I'm writing this so the next person knows exactly what to expect and hopefully avoids having the same unpleasant experience I had.
