Been seeing a PA here for almost two years. She's nice, I like her, but their business practices are a awful and the reception staff are rude. What finally put me over the top is that their way of reminding you to make an appointment is to not fill your prescription or only allow a partial fill. On my last pickup, I received a one week supply. I have not received a single email, phone call, or test message reminding me to make an appointment. I made a virtual appointment because my work schedule will not allow me to come in prior to my medication running out. I got a phone call two before the appointment telling me I had to come in person, at a different time and that they won't refill my prescription until I am seen. When I tried telling them that I couldn't make it in, she tried cutting me off and when I continued to finish what I was saying she interrupted again to say she isn't going to argue with me. read more

Absolutely horrible experiences. Tried to use him as my new doctor but he is very hard to get along with when his whole attitude is 'it is my job to tell patients no'. He refused to give me (a diabetic) a prescription for glucose testing strips and he refused to give me a prescription for antibiotics prior to visiting my dentist. The antibiotics were need to prevent severe MRSA staff infections. While in his office 'discussing' the antibiotics he actually fired me as a patient. He said those words...'you're fired'. After telling him I had an entire medical associate that was familiar with my case (he could have gotten my records to know this) that indicated the antibiotics were a NEED, he finally agreed to give the prescription. Why should I have to do battle for my healthcare? read more

In May 2020, one of my elderly parents went to a wellness exam with Dr Swofford. During the examination, he advised my parent NOT to wear a mask and to continue socializing at pre-COVID levels, repeatedly and condescendingly playing down the seriousness of the virus for elders. I don't normally leave reviews, but my experience with Dr. Swofford has been so bad I will be leaving negative feedback everywhere I can. Hopefully others will see this and save themselves from the same poor treatment. I have so many things I want to say about Dr. Swofford's attitude and personality, but I'll sum it up by saying that he's an arrogant, condescending, sexist jerk. He shrugged off my very serious health issues, saying that they were probably just due to my period, or that I was "too stressed." I assured him that neither of those were the case, and he doubled down and disregarded anything I had to say. I'm 24 years old and pursuing a master's degree in a medical profession, yet he treated me like an uneducated child who was whining about nothing. On top of it all, he refused to take bloodwork despite that being the reason I made the appointment, because he was just so sure that it was all a problem with my period. If you want a doctor that will belittle you, insult your weight (yes- seriously), and take you back to the 1800s with his sexist attitude, Dr. Swofford may be the doctor for you. Otherwise, I urge you to keep looking for someone that won't make you leave their office in tears. read more

I really want to give no stars. I will admit, I am VERY particular when it comes to doctors, but he is something else. I have gone in several times for sinus infections only to be told it's "allergies" and then end up in the ER to be treated for a severe sinus infection days later because my equilibrium is so off I get dizzy just sitting up. One time I went in for back pain, was told it was a "muscle spasm" and a week later it was to the point I couldn't walk. My entire back was unaligned and my spine looked like a snake. I mean the list goes on. I just love throwing money away. There's like a gazillion more. Super friendly staff, but don't go see him. read more

My kids have been going to Dr. Swofford for years and he is always wonderful. He listens and takes his time. We have never felt rushed or dismissed. Dr. Swofford's staff is polite and always empathetic. I felt the need to leave this review after reading the only other one on here. I do not know the story of unsatisfied patients but I do know that Dr. Swofford and his staff have been wonderful to my family. read more

I like Doctor Swofford, BUT the front desk lady/employee who answer's the phone and makes the appointment and takes payment is confrontational and rude. This happens every time I have to make an appointment or go in. I feel as a patient needing to see the doctor I should not have to be talk down to or made to feel like a degenerate.In all the years this is the first time I have had this happen with any other doctors office :( . I pay my bill, I pay my insurance policy. Like I said the first couple of times I over looked it. But this last time was over the top. Unprofessional and unnecessary. I chose Dr. Swofford because he was close and he is good so I overlooked the front desk person. Moving forward I will not be seeking medical needs from Dr. Swofford. Looks like I will be heading back to Plano/Richardson for my medical needs. Growing community sure was hoping to keep him as along term doctor. Again Disappointing. :( read more

Dr. Swofford and his assistant Kim are amazing! I have been taking my family to them for years and have never had a problem! (I am VERY selective as to whom I use for medical care) They always do their best to get us worked in as soon as possible. When we are at our appointment I am never rushed and Dr. S spends as much time with me as we need to make sure our concerns are addressed. I know without a doubt that my family is in great hands with Dr. Swofford and Kim! I would recommend to anyone! read more

Took my 89 yr old mother for new patient visit because her doctor has left the area. He was critical of prior doctor's med regime (even though she has been is great health for 4 years with the other doctor). Was more interested in "setting me straight" on antibiotic choice for UTI then addressing the problem; did not suggest a urinalysis or change her med (more interested in being right then patient's health?!). He is arrogant, dismissive, and not at all thorough. Did not even conduct the basics for post stroke evaluation. Not a good choice for geriatric patients. read more

Horrible patient/doctor manners. Talks down to his patient. Does not listen to patients history of his own body and experiences. I took my wife with me on my second visit and she witnessed his condescending remarks. My illness got worst after my first visit because he would not prescribe antibiotics to ward off an impending infection. A week later my health and ability to do my job was put in jeopardy. Only cares about his own EGO.. Unless you want a doctor with a GOD complex, I would stay away! read more
