Inconsistent, Cold, and Counter-Therapeutic: Spravato Patients Deserve Better…read more As a late-diagnosed autistic adult with PTSD, ADHD, and treatment-resistant depression, I came to Wholesome Clinic seeking trauma-informed, neurodivergent-aware care. What I received instead was inconsistent, dismissive, and at times, destabilizing. While I'm grateful to have had access to Spravato, the overall experience under Dr. Ukoha felt cold, rushed, and emotionally disconnected. My communication style, sensory needs, and emotional state were often treated as inconvenient rather than met with curiosity or care. I was talked over during appointments, and my concerns were minimized instead of explored. Beyond that, there were significant operational failures that added stress to an already vulnerable process: * My Spravato doses were not reliably available for scheduled sessions. * The clinic failed to follow through on insurance coordination, leaving me to manage complex authorizations during a mental health crisis. * The treatment environment was overstimulating, impersonal, and lacked the grounding presence essential for psychedelic-adjacent care. Spravato is not just a medication, it's a process that requires emotional safety, consistency, and trust. None of that was reliably present. Instead of healing, I often left feeling more dysregulated than when I arrived. The one bright spot was Amanda, the billing manager, who went out of her way to help clarify an 8-week delay caused by a system disconnect between the clinic and my insurance. Her compassion and follow-through were the only moments that felt like true care. I did feel physiological benefits from the Spravato itself, but the surrounding care made the process feel unsafe and, at times, retraumatizing. Neurodivergent and trauma-impacted patients deserve better. I wouldn't recommend Wholesome Clinic to anyone seeking meaningful therapeutic support alongside this powerful treatment.
