Stopped by 100 Kellogg Lane and The Factory as…read moreheard about the renovated space at the old Kelloggs factory. 100 Kellogg Lane has two of the five floor tenanted and these two floors have about 50 % vacancy. There was an ice cream store and a Starbucks opened when we were there. Several of the businesses were not open when we stopped by. There is a craft brewery on site as well as a restaurant, The Club House, and a distillery. We did not sample any of these as we were there early in the day. The Factory is an entertainment complex geared towards younger children. There is plenty for young kids to do including an escape room, trampoline park, high ropes course, zip line and virtual reality. Would be ideal for kids on a rainy cold day. It was nice to see the changes to this space and understand that they are building a hotel and concert area which should be a good draw.

It was very crowded, and my kids couldn't see the animals they were excited about. The bathroom had a very long line, as well, and was very unsanitary. There were food trays everywhere, and no one was putting them away!! And Jordan's Forest was unsafe and unclean. My kids wanted to play at the splashpad, but I wouldn't let them because it was so dirty. The staff seemed miserable, and they seemed very annoyed whenever I asked questions!! Their reception area is much larger with tons of storage for shoes, bags, and jackets. The bouldering area is now on the 2nd level which gives people more room to hang out and take breaks. They added more auto-belay walls as well which is awesome for those who do not have the belay training and just want to climb on their own. I definitely recommend this spot to beginners and pro climbers alike! Let's not forget, they have a ton of friendly people working here! They are awesome! The iced cream wasn't too bad but we had to cut our eating time short because of the bees. No ones fault but still a pain. Although the water is ICE COLD, it's quite refreshing on a really hot day. It offers water fun for kids (and grown ups) of all ages. The splash pad area is great for the little ones and it has one of those cool dumping buckets that are kid magnets. The change rooms always smell like pee unfortunately, you;re better off using the stalls out by the carpet slides if you don't need to use a washroom. Mini Golf: I love minigolf and East Park offers fun themed holes and is a great change from the place on Adelaide I usually go. The minigolf has two options, one with wooden edges around each hole and one without (like real golf). The one without edges is usually less busy and better for teens/adults. Batting Cages: I'm fairly certain these are the only ones in London. The last time I was there the "softball" ones were both very slow (even the hard option) so my friend and I were using the expert hardball games to practice our swings. We brought our own bats and helmets because their bats aren't high quality and I always question the cleanliness of shared helmets. Rock Climbing: I hate heights so I hate rock climbing. I did the team building exercises here in 2009 and the person running them was fantastic. They were supportive and really motivated our group to complete the challenge. The staff are friendly and helpful. The grounds are clean and well maintained.

Komoka Provincial Park is an excellent place to spend a day taking a hike!…read more There's a few things worth noting if you're going to head here for the first time: - It's not very accessible via city bus, so it is best to carpool - Don't rely on your smartphone to give you accurate directions to the entrance. My group had a few people end up near Sifton Bog rather than Komoka thanks to plugging the park's address into their maps app. Instead, just find the park on GoogleMaps and drop a pin, or just look for the sign off Oxford St. or Gideon Dr. - The older map of the park trails you'll find online on the Middlesex County website and that is sometimes distributed around town (the map without any satellite image shown under the trail lines) is outdated from what I could tell. It states that dogs are only allowed on certain trails, but this rule isn't listed elsewhere and when we arrived at the White trailhead (where the old map said "walking only", so we assumed dogs were not allowed. It says 'leashed pets' for the other 3 trails), there were no posted restrictions and lots of people walking dogs. - The trails are not super challenging, but there are parts with large tree roots, rocks, and somewhat steep inclines. - The trails are marked with blazes or small arrows. There are portions where it is possible to get lost. It is important to stay aware and remember when you've taken a turn, etc. - The park has no staffing or facilities, so be prepared to take out what you bring in. People had left piles of dog poop bags and empty cups, etc. at the entrance, which is gross. Please carry your trash out! The trails are mostly shady and through heavy forest, which makes this a pleasant place to walk on a hot day. There are portions through open field though, so don't neglect sunscreen!

Conveniently located almost right at the forks of the Thames it is also along the Thames Valley Parkway and sees a lot of bikes and rollerblading and hikers when the weather allows. While Victoria Park sees most of the festival action, you can often find something going on here on the weekends and the Canada Day fireworks are a must attend event. It's quite a large park and offers lots of room for picnics, frisbee or whatever outdoor activity your heart might desire. It's a delightful spot to take in a little nature right in the heart of the city!

This park has a ton of green space, a small play park, and a great trail for running/biking. There is also a beach volleyball court. Before the days of IMPark down in Harris, it was easy to park your car and go for a run or play a game of v-ball, but now you have to pay. The trails here can lead you far and wide across the city of London. It is really neat to see how far they can take you. You wont find this park jam packed with festivals every weekend. From Rock the Park, to fireworks during Victoria Day, it is a nice space to be active or hang out to get away from it all. The geese can kind of be an annoyance, especially when they use the walkways as their bathroom but hey, thats nature! I've seen some really cute ducklings while walking the trails. Be sure to watch for warnings about high water during the spring time. It can be dangerous. Definitely visit Harris Park, even if you are stopping in at the nearby museum, it would be a great spot for a picnic!
