At that birdwatching station, they have an area full of birdbaths and other things to attract birds, so there were quite a variety of birds there. There's disc golf and a few areas for hiking as well, so it could be a nice place to continue exploring, especially since it's so close to home!

It was a pretty park with a nice lookout tower for birdwatching (birdfeeders are positioned to coax birds to stay for a bit) and plenty of hawks circling; however, it did seem more geared for picnicking/grilling and/or camping. There were no marked trails and we just kind of looped around until we hit a road and then looped back again. The park has plenty of parking and the restrooms were open and clean, even during the pandemic.

There's some open areas, nice views and a bridge to the PA side. I'm at 4 stars is for the bathroom and water fountains. Those are crucial considering how long the Delaware Raritan Canal Trail is, unless you bring your own water or don't mind finding a tree and some leaves in the woods to use as a toilet.

There's a little landing you can go to down by the river and dip your feet in. Ralph Stover State Park and overlook is quite honestly one of my favorite places on this earth…read more We go every year once the squelching summer heat and humidity leave us and the breezy fall days arrive. The overlook provides acres of hiking lands, scenic overlooks and peaceful vistas, There is a lot to see as you wander the park. Hawks dance in the skies over the Tohickon creek. Rock climbers ascend and repel the massive rock formations. Squirrels and chipmunks scurry about. There are paths but not so much paved trails, but it is easy to roam without fear of loosing your bearings. Fences and rails provide safety if children are afoot, but fear not there are plenty of access to areas to climb and explore for avid hikers seeking a challenge.

The views of the gorge into the river at the beginning are really pretty. The trail we took went down to the river too. I'm not sure we followed an actual trail, but we walked around for 1-2 hours. If you're looking for hiking and very scenic views, this probably isn't your place. It's a good place to get outside and get some fresh air though.

The park has a single parking lot , decently sized. There is a pool, not open when we were there due to lifeguard shortages. Restroom facilities were typical for a park. We enjoyed the trails which were well maintained. There are some rental cabins, too. There's a playground very close to parking, easy for families. One thing: basically no cell service, Verizon or T Mobile. A call got through from the NMA but his texts did not relay until we left the park and headed towards home. Be prepared for that. Overall a place I'd happily visit again.
