During the first day of a holiday camp, the front door was unfortunately vandalized. Not their fault! Was is in their control is how they handled it. 1. We received no communication about the incident until we arrived for drop off. They should have sent an email as soon as they discovered the vandalism so we don't show up in person! 2. When I did arrive for drop off, I asked about the status of the glass replacement, code compliance, and timing for completion. The questions I asked were reasonable and directly tied to safety and planning as a working parent. Instead of receiving clear information or empathy, I was met with condescension and a dismissive attitude. At no point was there acknowledgment of the very real constraints families are navigating--jobs, schedules, and the need for reliable, high-quality educational programs like the ones Stemful provides. The conversation centered almost entirely on David's personal stress in managing the situation, rather than on transparent communication with parents who are impacted by it. He essentially told me to go away and stop asking questions. 3. When I called back later to inquire about the status of the glass, he doubled down on his attitude, said "aren't you the person that was here before?" and demanded the name of my camper so we can "get this taken care of". It was incredibly threatening in language and tone and I didn't even feel comfortable giving my child's name. While we eventually got a refund, I'm not confident that me or my camper will be treated with respect and care in David's presence.

As someone who works in the Jewish community, I had frequently recommended Tawonga to others, believing in the strength of its programming and community spirit. Unfortunately, our experience left us feeling deeply disappointed. Our child was registered for a summer session but was unable to attend due to the sudden passing of a close family member just days before camp began. As the family member's funeral was held out of state and organized by us, attending camp was simply not possible. We informed camp staff in advance, sharing both the situation and the fact that we are a financial aid family, and asked if any credit or accommodation could be made for a future session. We received single-sentence emails with zero condolences stating that the policy was no refund (which we didn't request) or credit. It was such a strange response we wondered if it was AI. Despite multiple follow-ups from us during a time of grief, we were told nothing could be done because the deadline had passed. At long last, the only acknowledgment of our loss was a brief line hoping the funeral preparations were going well--no further condolences or recognition of our child's disappointment were offered. By contrast, another camp we had registered with for a different child responded with immediate compassion--offering a partial refund without being asked, sending condolences, and even making a small kind gesture when our child was finally able to attend for a shortened period. As a family raising Jewish children and deeply involved in the Jewish community, this lack of empathy from a camp we had held in such high regard was especially painful. We weren't asking for a refund, just understanding and flexibility in a time of extraordinary personal loss. We struggled to name the Jewish value being demonstrated by Tawonga and still do. We will never return to Tawonga in the future--both due to financial constraints and a lack of confidence that our children's emotional needs would be supported in difficult times. The Jewish sleepaway camp we've attended for the past several years has actually lived and walked the values they advertise, and we couldn't be happier. We share this with the hope that it encourages a deeper reflection on how grief, compassion, and community care are handled. We continue to believe in the power of the Jewish community and wish all campers and families positive experiences in the future. -- A Jewish Family in the Bay Area

The camp counselors - Najia, David, and Zita - were awesome. The kids were outdoors and active all day, learning about nature and the environment. Our daughter really enjoyed the field trips to Ocean Beach and Marin. As a 2 working parent family, we also appreciated the 9-5pm full day coverage (the only thing better would be an 8:30am start)! I'd highly recommend this summer camp, and look forward to returning next year.

She specifically asked to go to a camp where she could look at bugs, climb trees, and collect leaves all day long-- TFT delivered and then some! My daughter came home every day with a huge smile on her face, messy hair, dirty clothes, and lots of new facts about bugs and animals. It is exactly what you picture when you think of summer camp. The camp is well-organized. Good communication before and during camp sessions. The counselors are incredibly nice and you can tell that they love their jobs. I would happily re-enroll her at TFT next summer. Note: my daughter is fairly independent and responsible for her age. She enjoys imaginative play, makes friends easily, and speaks up when she needs help. Kids who need structure or hand-holding may not do as well in this camp.

"Camp Galileo" "Camp Galileo who" "Camp Galileo is poo poo doo doo dusty musty crusty rusty usty lusty fusty chusty moldy oldy foldy zesty preppy googlechrome chromosome ice cream cone chicken bone all alone on the phone no way home" In their ad, they have a giant grassy field, but in reality, they have a tiny playground no bigger than half a basketball court. Their ad also shows kids making stuff with power tools, but actually we spent 5 minutes making stuff out of cardboard and the rest of the time was spent in a tiny room with everyone in the camp going crazy. Another thing you should know is that you don't take home most of the stuff you make. Also all of their things are knock-offs: their mascot is called Clucky which is obviously copied from Steve and Kate's Camp's mascot, Chucky. The also have things called cluck bucks which are copied from Steve and Kate's Camp's Moose Bucks. We didn't even play the games that they said we would play today. In idea lab, they said we would make a game involving our heads and take them home, but instead we built towers out of paper and threw them away. On Friday they have pie day where kids are supposed to pie teachers, but the teachers make a list of kids they will pie without permission. There are so many more things that are wrong with this camp, but I'm too slow at typing to list them all.

Every week she learns something new: new styles, materials, and techniques. Sometimes they focus on painting, other times on sculpture or different forms of art. Katia and Sara have both been her teachers, and she has felt happy and supported with all of them. Like with many activities at this age, it took a couple of weeks for her to fully adjust and feel familiar with the environment but consistency made a big difference. As parents, we appreciate seeing her come home excited and proud of what she created. It is easy to notice how much she has progressed over time and we get very excited when we see her project. We also appreciate the communication style of the school. They provide a high-level overview each week of what the kids will be working on, which keeps parents informed without overwhelming us with too much information. On the administrative side, tuition payments and renewals are simple, and the staff has always been friendly and helpful whenever we have had questions or needed help resolving any mistakes on our part. We also love the location. Depending on the day and who is with me, it is easy to wait nearby at the library, a coffee shop, or a restaurant while class is in session.

They had 3 people on staff for our party. I brought balloons, snacks, drinks, cupcakes and colorful tablecloths. I wheeled in my items from the car, dropped them off at the front with the team, and they literally did the rest. Super turn-key. The first portion is play time and then you move to the party room for snacks and cake. You can also have some snacks laid out in the front part of the play area. The party room is in the back and I had meant to go in and give them some basic set-up directions prior to us going in, but totally forgot. I ran into the room while folks were already filing in as I hadn't even viewed the room, yet, and it looked amazing! They had laid out all the snacks and drinks; they supplied plates, napkins, basic party tablecloths and a royal birthday chair and birthday banner. I didn't even have cake stands so brought a few plates from home to display the cupcakes, but they had some cute cake stands and took it upon themselves to beautifully display them! Far better than what I would have done! They even took it upon themselves to move the balloons from spot to spot as the party migrated - whatever looked the best! Then they helped pack up the leftovers and clean everything. Easy peasy. They do include 18% gratuity, but with the amount of mental load they took off my plate, it was 100% worth it. And of course, the kids loved it! The only thing I wish they had was a bit longer play time option. The kids LOVED playing and wanted more! The venue and level of service is truly exceptional! The team at Peek-a-Boo in San Francisco are true pros, with a level of customer service that totally surpassed my expectations. Thank you, Peek-a-boo Factory Team!

Located in the local & city combo vibed Geary neighborhood in San Francisco, Peek-a-Boo packs a lot into a well organized kids space. Although it has limited seating, the entry way contains some retro distraction as you wait to be let into the main play area where your party time begins - those coin operated machines from the 80's that you win a prize from when you turn the slot with 2-4 quarters. My nephew & I played two. Then as his friends and their parents started arriving, it was the official time for his party start time and so our family could walk through the locked gate into the kids world of swings, slides, climbing walls, and colorful tunnels and passageways. For an estimated 90 minutes, about 20 kids ran through the time of their lives as their parents and Auntie looked on in awe haha! A face painter was also setup on one side of that main room who painted next level and intricate animal, tribal, and celestial themed designs on some of the kids' faces while the others played. When the clock ticked to a certain time, the staff made an announcement to head towards the back party room for pizza, cupcakes, and presents. (My brother chose the food options and arranged for them to be delivered ahead of time.) The staff had setup the room perfectly, with a happy birthday banner over the cupcakes on the middle table, then little tables setup on both sides of that table with snacks, drinks, pizza, goodie bags, and long tables setup in the middle for the kiddos to sit at comfortably as they entered the room. Then the staff served them pizza. It was a sweet time - filled with laughter, smiles, birthday song, and full bellies. What a wonderful Sunday afternoon of childhood bliss!
