I recently had my 2023 Tesla Model Y Performance completely wrapped and tinted by TintMax in Great Neck. They had my vehicle for 8 days to complete this task. I paid additional for the Expel Ultimate Fusion wrap which includes a ceramic coating. They also ceramic coated the wheels and my license pates. I dealt with Patrick who was professional and patient at all times. He walked me through all the different options and helped me make up my mind on the final package. When they started working on the vehicle, Patrick sent pictures to keep me updated. What was appreciated, he also found a few flaws that came from the factory which permitted me to schedule a trip to the service center ahead of time. The car came out amazing. They delivered it clean and even vacuumed the inside for me. Fernando was very helpful when I picked up the car and helped me install a custom license plate holder for the front of my vehicle. You can't even tell that the car is wrapped. After I picked up the car, Patrick called and checked in with me. He had left early due to being sick that day. Nevertheless, he took time to give me a few tips on how to care for the wrap. The only negative for me is the growing trend of small businesses who up charge for using a debit card or credit card. Staff was extremely professional and friendly and performed a great job on my vehicle. They have samples of tint to compare if you are unsure how dark to go and they have multiple vehicles on site to showcase the work they do. All windows were tinted within an hour! I've also personally witnessed ppf being installed on a customers car where they take the time to thoroughly wash the vehicle and claybar prior to installation of the ppf. read more

If there is a zero star i would give them. I took the car for ceramic coating picked it, up after 5 months I took it to another detailer and told me that the car has no ceramic coating on it. They did not apply any coating for my car claim that I did something wrong. My car only been hand washed and never been applied any strong chemical on it. They are very unprofessional when I called them back and told me you know nothing eventhough there is million information about ceramic coating and what they called promax. Please do not bring your expensive dear car to them becuase it might end up like mine. They refused to refund me what I paid and that tells alot about them and their service. Also they keep insisting i polished the car which i repeatedly told them my car was never polished since I bought it but they just want to put the blame on the customer and never them. read more

Manny said that even though the warranty is clearly stated on the website, it is not going to be considered in my case at all. He said that he had forgotten to update the warranty details on the website so he would not help me but they first said it was lifetime warranty. They don't back their warranty!! I had some services done to my vehicle but it was peeling and looking terrible. Now manny is saying I have to pay full price and as a favor is taking a few bucks off as a discount. Bad service. Not sure how much better of a job this place did than any other place I've ever tinted my car. Online ceramic tints were advertised for 150, I left a $25, deposit and was then charged $150. For a total of 175 + tax + 4%CC fee. I called up to ask question why I was charged extra and was told the Great Neck location charges $25 extra (15% more) for no reason. While this is down the block, I'll be taking my other car elsewhere- hate feeling taken advantage of. I brought my car to Tintmax because I heard this place is the best around. Based on their workmanship, photos, and anecdotal reviews, I assumed that it was top notch. My experience has been so-so. I've had a few services done at Tintmax on my Tesla Model 3: - Matte black center console wrap (interior) - Front and rear windshield and all windows tinted to 70% 3M Crystalline And I was also considering: - Chrome delete - Full PPF But I changed my mind after the OK job I received on the tint work. The tint on the four door windows were fine. But the ones to the front and back windshields killed me inside for a month until I got over it. First, Steve and the other technician didn't lay down any microfiber cloth or soak shields to prevent water damage to the computer unit that sits under the windshield. There are horror stories of other people's Model 3s that got ruined because of water damage from tinting. Even some Tesla stores tell their new buyers to not tint for this reason. Anyway, my Model 3 did not suffer any electrical damage, thank goodness, BUT the soapy water left horrible streaks under the brake light and VIN window. Steve said it's just "condensation" and would go away but it never did. I ended up sticking a small microfiber cloth down the brake light with a ruler to buff it out. Aside from this, the biggest killer for me is the fact that the tints are all smudged around the edges. See the attached photo. There's about 3-4 marks about 3-4" in diameter each, and they look hazy. Initially, I actually thought it was an oil smudge, so I tried to buff it out--that didn't work. Then I thought maybe it was condensation from the windshield AC--nope. So that's about when I realized that the haziness is from a botched job--someone's hand had touched the tint right before it was applied. I contacted Steve, the owner, about the issue and he acknowledged the mistake by scheduling me an appointment to come back TWO WEEKS later to get it fixed. I was so upset at the time and just wanted to get this issue fixed, so I called around other tint shops and got a second, third opinions. Ultimately, after two weeks and my appointment came up, I decided to just own it and roll with it. Re-doing the tints again just didn't seem worth it. Tintmax was also not very accommodating to fitting me in to get it fixed ASAP especially when this was a problem they created. Overall, come here, they're good people who care. Just be on the lookout for potential issues. read more

Tinted the windshield and 2 front windows with ceramic film for my new SUV. Cost was $325 and you can book an appointment online with a $25 deposit. The manager did a good job showing the different VLT shades and their legality. There is a chart in the shop showing 70%+ is legal in NYS for front windows but just be aware that will depend on your factory VLT. You need to multiply that by the film VLT to determine your true number. I got all legal tints so you don't really see a difference between that and factory, unless you are looking at it side by side. They did a great job doing the install, and it took only about an hour. So far the car seems cooler when parked during sunny days. If the ceramic film deteriorates as time passes or if you find an issue with the install, bring it back and they said they would remediate the problem. This place tinted a Lexus for my partner and the film is peeling off within two months. I went yesterday morning and dropped off two Jeep door tops for a small $200 2hour job. The owner told me they would be ready at the end of the day. They were not. He asked me to come in this morning at 9 and would have the job done by 11 and said I coupd wait. Arrived at nine and he was not there. His employee got him on the phone and his excuse???? He claims he told me to call first. This business has competition right down the street. You get what you pay for. I opted for the more expensive tints, the ceramic for my 2006 E350. Now I do have an older car, so the windows are not new, so I didn't know what to expect. The tints really came out fantastic, but even beyond that, customer service was excellent. As sometimes happens, especially on older cars, I had some bubbles on the rear window. They were able to touch it up, on the spot, and said if im not happy with it, they can redo it for me, considering I have a lifetime warranty with them. Super impressed with their patience and customer service, shout to Steve for being so patient with me and really going the extra mile to make sure that I feel satisfied with their service.
