Strolled into this cute spot because I was in the area being a tourist... it did not disappoint! I had the carne empanada (so juicy and the perfect amount of crunch) and I also had a Tosta de pollo which i thiught was good but the empanada was the star of my dinner lol. I forgot the name of the beer i had but I believe it was the Mahou (the name on the cup). The employees were very attentive, I had a great time here.

Came here for dinner and got the caprese empanada, meat empanada, and squid croquette. The caprese empanada was surprisingly delicious! The meat one was solid. The squid croquettes were interesting, but not the tastiest. The inside of the croquettes was black, which made it a little sketchy-looking, but it was cool they had small, chewy pieces of squid inside.

The server was awesome, very funny and kind. The food was so filling for such a good price. My friends got a pitcher for 15€ and empanadas for 5€. Small but cute!

Reseña en ingles y español. Tinto y tapas was the perfect place to stop in for a mid-day snack (or lunch) after touring the museums all morning. We arrived when they opened at 1:00pm. Within 15 minutes all the tables were full. Our servers were nice and attentive. I was happy that there were multiple vegetarian tapas to choose from (which are hard to find in Madrid). We ordered a spinach and ricotta empanada, a sweet onion and cheese empanada, and a Margherita pizza. Everything was delicious. The pizza was excellent. We couldn't finish everything. We left full and happy. Salimos llenos y felices.

Had a great lunch here! Iberian ham toasted open face sandwich, tuna salad, Margarita pizza and Serrano ham pizza were all fantastic. Service was great, too - everyone working here was super friendly. Also, they have ice! Ha.

Very nice little spot. A small selection of wine, but what we had was very tasty. The only moscato on the menu was light and refreshing. The Zinio rioja was very nicely paired with the cheese and meat plate. We ordered an off menu meat and cheese plate which was 18 euros. I recommend asking if they have this available when you visit. The waiter was very friendly. The bill was correct. It's tiny here. I understand they opened a larger sister store close by.

The food and service were both very quick. We got drinks within 5 minutes and food within about 15. My sister, Dad, and I all shared the Napolitana pizza which was SO good! Normally, the food gets a little boring and repetitive but here was the opposite! Yummy flavors and awesome ambiance. We also ordered the spinach and mushroom quiche. I LOVE quiches so I think my view on the quiche has lots of experience behind it. The crust was crunchy and flaky, the flavor was very delicious. I would recommend this spot to anyone who wants to avoid the traditional saltiness of the food found in Spain! Make sure to come and give this place a try!

Great super small tapas spot! It felt a strong family vibe while dining, all the locals know the owners and kept coming in and saying hello to them. It was like a rotating door. The toast was out of this world! I wasn't going to get it but I saw a table next to us order and I was curious. It was worth it and affordable. Heavy on the Brie, light balsamic and fresh arugula. The toast was thick and toasted perfect. I initially came here for the empanadas I ordered a chicken and a beef one. They were baked and had a decent portion of filling but my taste buds gravitated towards the toast. The wine was decent and affordable, the tables are very small so get ready to be on top of people. We call it the snuggle factor when your eating. I would recommend this location for a tapa experience. Just get ready to be in tight quarters and you will have to speak loudly. All around I had a great experience and would recommend you to visit.

Delicious pizza!! Large, fresh, and great price!

We stumbled across this local hidden gem and were so happy that we did! It is located down a side street and pretty small but packed with locals and has all around great vibes. They specialize in pizzas but we also had one of their salads and it was AMAZING! We split their chicken salad and it had a honey mustard like dressing with caramelized onions, tomatoes, and mixed greens that was insane! The flavors were fabulous and it was LARGE! Then, we split the mozzarella and garlic pizza and that too, was crispy and delish. They also have great wine! Service was super friendly. Prices are reasonable. I would absolutely recommend this cute little spot to anyone in the area.

This place is great., excellent empanadas; I did not try their pizzas which they have quite a few options. This place feels like a modern fusion of southamerican and italian fare. Cozy and friendly, I recommend it as an excellent option for off the beaten path!

We went to Tinto y tapas but it was full so we were directed to their second branch just around the corner. That place was big and had room downstairs. We came for early dinner so it wasn't too crowded. This doesn't have typical tapas options but has more tostadas and pizza options. We ordered vegetarian empanadas and pizza. Empanadas were outstanding and pizza was great! It was huge and enough to share. Sangria and tinto de verano was good. A plate of olives were complimentary and i loved them. Overall great place for quick tapas and wine.

The curry chicken tapa was super good! The pizza was one of the best in town. A must-try hole in the wall off of a small street.

Service was in Spanish or English, and they were patient with my poor Spanglish butchery. Everyone was friendly. Service was paced to be leisurely but it was not slow. Inside was cool on a hot day and decor was upscale. I wouldn't roll in wearing gym shorts and a t-shirt but there was outside seating in the plaza outside. Not that we even considered it that day, evening would have been a different story. The area has a lot to see if you want to wonder around and then swing in or take your time after. This will definitely be a regular stop when we are in Madrid.

The restaurant is located in the heart of Madrid on a very cute street, and it is easy to find and walk there if you stay in the city center. The place is not very big - both times I went there for lunch, there were no tables available, so I had to sit at the bar; once I even had to wait about 7 minutes until one bar spot became free. The restaurant's design is simple, but pretty and lovely. Overall, the restaurant is in very good condition and was perfectly clean both times I visited. The only small downside is that the place is quite noisy, but it did not bother me. One of the best things about this place is the people who work there - both a guy and a lady at the bar were extremely nice and friendly to me; plus, both spoke very good English. They gave me recommendations on what to try, and I followed their advice. The restaurant's menu is not big, but it has all the most popular traditional Spanish dishes. Both times I ordered Rabo de Toro (a traditional Spanish stew), Fardos (squid rolls with bacon and squid ink mousse); and once I also tried croquetas de jamón (ham croquettes). The croquettes were tasty - I loved their flavor and soft texture. One portion includes 6 pieces, and they are quite big and filling. It was my first time trying Fardos (I ordered a 1/3 portion), and it was a great experience - the dish turned very delicious after the bartender mixed it for me. The squid was cooked very nicely, and combined with the fresh bacon and ink mousse, it tasted fantastic. Rabo de Toro (I ordered a 1/2 portion) was also my first time trying this dish, and I loved it - the stew was perfectly cooked, very soft and moist, with rich flavors, and it melted in my mouth. The restaurant also offers a wide variety of drinks, especially wines. I do not drink alcohol, so I was recommended to try grape juice - Mosto, which was extremely flavorful and tasted like fresh pressed grape juice, even though it came from a glass bottle. I loved that drink! Price-wise, all items on the menu seemed reasonable. I paid €8 for 6 ham croquettes, €12 for a half portion of Rabo de Toro, €8 for a 1/3 portion of Fardos, and €3 for one glass of grape juice. It is possible to have a nice full lunch here for around €22, which is reasonable for a restaurant in the heart of Madrid. The place accepts all major credit cards and Apple Pay, which is a big plus. If you visit this restaurant, I strongly recommend trying 1/3 or 2/3 portion of Fardos, a half portion of Rabo de Toro, and their grape juice Mosto - it's enough food to feel full and experience traditional Spanish flavors.

Casa Lucas is a MUST on the La Latina tapas tour! Casa Lucas serves tapas with a creative twist,…read moreand if I'd had more time (and wasn't a party of one), I would've tried so much more! I ordered the Oxtail (Rabo de Toro) and wooooow... easily one of the most tender and delicate pieces of meat I've EVER had. They serve it boneless, but I'm pretty sure if they would have provided a bone, it would've fallen right off. The whole place gives cozy tavern vibes with a rustic interior that feels perfectly Madrid. NOTE: the portions are a bit heavier than most spots. I hate to waste food, especially when it's as immaculate as the Oxtail, but if you're a party of one, you got to do what you go to do.
