Been coming to Ruidoso for 4 years now. We even bought a vacation home here. We finally got out and…read moretried Hall of Flame Burgers. The 5 of us all got something different and not a single bad thing to say about the food, facility or staff. What a great spot to get a meal and cold drink! This is going to become my new go to when I am in town! To be honest I was shocked the food was so good and VERY reasonably priced!! The price of the burger (comes with regular fries) isn't much more than a fast food burger! Give Hall of Flame your business. I promise you won't be disappointed. Even if there is a line, stand in it. It will move fast. They also have cold beer on tap!! A true Ruidoso gem!! Delicious!!

About a 2.5 hour drive from El Paso, my boyfriend's extended family decided that they wanted burgers for lunch. With only a couple of options, we stumbled into the Hall of Flame Burgers. Service is fast and efficient and the place has several tables. You order your food and someone brings your food to you. Except everyone scrambles to occupy tables so you need to get in where you fit in. Not only is the place chaotic, the bathrooms downstairs don't lock and I was the first in the family to realize after two people walked in on me in the two times I locked the door. So go with a friend and have them watch the door to save yourself the embarrassment. The food is okay and nothing to write home about. My partner and I tried the green chili cheese fries and the chicken tacos. The green chili cheese fries are a disappointing mass of fries with the cheese pooled at the bottom of the tray. The hatch chilis are soggy and an unremarkable addition to the fries. The tacos were the most American tacos I've ever had dressed with chicken lettuce and tomato. There was nothing Mexican about these tacos but at least the chicken was tender. The chips and salsa that came with the tacos were the best part of the meal. Even my family, who got the burgers, were unimpressed. I'm not expecting a gourmet meal in the middle of New Mexico, but you would think the food would match the great reviews for this place. For what it is, get your meal and get full for the drive ahead because there's probably no food outside of Ruidoso for miles.

Service! Worst experience in a long time! What a joke…read more Sunday night called an order for a green back burger, to be told that's not on the menu any more, ok I'll build my own. Menu changes. I ordered a 1/2 dozen wings from appetizers, and finally I ordered a basket of fries. We don't have baskets of fries the menu has changed so you want 2 sides of fries? One side of fries and one side on onion rings. I placed my order over the phone ordering from their website that doesn't mention or show new menu. I ordered the food at 6:38 pm. I was told 10-15 minutes. I arrived and paid $41.38 plus tip at6:52 pm. And was told to sit and wait. I mentioned I'd stand which got me a lesson on bar space for waitresses, and not to block it, so I sat down. What attitude. At 7:15 I asked how much longer, and she said it's not done yet. I said I want my money refunded and I'll go somewhere else. She said she wasn't authorized to give refunds, she had to get manager. 7:22 she comes out rummages thru cash door, has to ask me what the name on the order was, then removes the receipt hands it to me and says it's been refunded. I asked for a receipt showing the $ was refunded she said no. Baby I know business was pretty rough over the holiday weekend. I know you aren't the cook, but realize this. I'm al local. I live less than a mile from your bar. We're all trying to make ends meet. Don't give me your attitude cause I live here and i liked yor food. I'll skip your food and hospitality! And my refund better show up or i'm filing charges. I can't believe what a crappy this experience was!

This little diner in the middle of nowhere has some great food!…read more On the way to Roswell from Albuquerque we needed a place to stop for lunch after a quick hike through Valley of Fires. We pulled up and were able to get a table for the 5 of us after waiting for 10 minutes. I ordered a burger with green chile and my wife ordered the Cheese Enchiladas. The kids got items from the kids menu... The burger was delicious and the green chilies packed a little heat. My wife said her enchiladas were really good. The boys ate their corn dog and beef taco. My Mother-in-law got a BLT and she enjoyed it as it was stacked with bacon. You don't have to go out of the way for this place, but if you come across it, you should definitely stop for a meal!

This diner was near the gas station we filled up at and all the other restaurants nearby were all closed permanently. It was staffed by three generations of woman and I loved mother, grandmother, and daughter cooking together. It's small but hospitable inside and we felt immediately welcome and comfortable. Overall the food was OK but it was pricey for what we got. Sour cream also came in a squeeze bag which I haven't seen before. Beef quesadilla: ground beef, cheese, in a store bought quesadilla. Good because it wasn't overly large but tasted like something we could have made at home. Carne asada tacos: $15 so pretty pricey at $5 each. Cooked over a stove so didn't have a nice grilled taste. Topped with lettuce, tomato, and cheese so more fusion/american style but after I did enjoy not having onion breath.
