GREAT FOOD PERIOD! Last night my sister and I stopped by a little before 9 and got a table outside for dinner. I, unfortunately, don't remember our server's name but him and the gentlemen that served our food and cleaned our table were very nice. We ordered two frozen Pina Coladas, I ordered the Carnes Asada and she ordered the Camarones en Tomate. Everything looked and smelled delicious, I didn't even want to ruin my plate. But of course, I did for a good cause. Pros - nice size portioned shrimp and the sauce was delicious - the steak was buttery and perfectly seasoned everything about the plate was good. - Sweet plantains weren't fried too hard, just right - You'll definitely need a reservation for the later hours. We got lucky with snatching the last available table, but we were eating I noticed that cars were double parking just waiting for a res. - This restaurant is truly a neighborhood treasure and full of good vibes. Took a while for someone to come to our table. Took even longer to get our check when we were done. Flavored margaritas were just regular with syrup on top not mixed in. Ordered the ceviche which was very bland. Just unseasoned shrimp and citrus juice. Gave an extra star for the ambiance because the outdoor patio is really nice- but if you sit along the edge, people on the street will come up to it and ask you for money. Stopped by for appetizers and drinks before catching a flight back to Chicago. It just so happens that we caught happy hour, so we decided to order from that menu. Having worked in the food industry for over 20 years, I was confused when the server (David) asked my brother and I if we ordered chicken quesadillas or "happy hour chicken quesadillas"..what is the difference we asked ourselves, because he quickly walked away after we answered. We felt judged and belittle for ordering from the happy hour part of the menu, it wasn't a "happy" hour for us. So, needless to say, the service was very mediocre. David also seemed to be mistreating the female server that was working alongside him because she seemed upset but still mustered along, trying to stay positive. David's bad attitude brought about a negative vibe to the place and I will not be returning. Very disappointing experience. There was a bug in my food, and because I had already eaten part of the meal before noticing, the restaurant refused a refund and only offered a free drink. The waiter also served the wrong tequila and then poured water into my tequila glass. I hadn't been here in five years and only returned to support someone hosting an event. I came here recently for my co-worker's birthday celebration and I'm a bit indifferent about the experience. For one, the place is big and I do like that there was an indoor and an enclosed outdoor section. There were tons of heaters that made sitting outdoors comfortable. Indoors were a bar and high tables with a live DJ. It was packed and there was one server that was attending to the backyard. He was a bit overwhelmed and was trying but then gave me the wrong drink and meal. When I got my correct drink (mango margarita), all the mango syrup was at the bottom and it didn't have the kick in it that I thought it would have. The chicken tacos were decent, it was just a bit bland and needed a bit more seasoning. In the end, the server didn't seem compassionate about my drink situation and food and even charged me as well. This place seems to have a lot of potential, but isn't equipped to handle large amounts of people and catering to customer service. read more

I dropped by here after a musical performance, late on a Saturday night. My friend and I were looking for some late night eats and fortunately the kitchen was open. Yay! We sat at the bar, and the ambience was pretty casual and fine. Music volume was good, and the place wasn't too crowded. The outdoor areas were pretty neat, too. Unfortunately, we had a difficult time with the food & beverage. The bartender was busy, which is fine, and took about 10 minutes to flag him down to order. I ordered the wings and yucca fries and a beer. My friend ordered empanadas. Prices were very high - almost $9 for a bottled Corona, $12 for two small empanadas, and $14 for 5 wings and fries. I waited about 20 minutes for my food before checking in with the bartender, who assured me the order of food was coming. 25 minutes beyond that, my friend had finished his meal and I wasn't served. Finally, as we got the checks, my meal came out - and was short a wing (5 on the menu, I got 4) and no yucca fries. I was so hungry I didn't try to dispute it. I used to work in bars and totally understand that stuff happens, but I felt there was a major breakdown in logistics here. 40 minutes is a long time to wait for an incomplete order, and nothing was done to really rectify it. The place wasn't crowded so it wasn't an issue with volume. The bartender was not communicative at all and only said a few words at a time, so I think they just forgot to submit my order. The food was tasty but small portions for the high price, so I'd avoid the wings and maybe try another dish. read more

Five star for the service. The waitress was very friendly and nice. I ordered a sangria and when my friend came, we ordered a Sangria pitcher. Both were okay, nothing great and in fact the sangria was diluted. When it comes to food, I ordered Tios chicken sandwich and my friend ordered the veggie salad with arugula and avocado. There was a hint of aioli in the sandwich but it was so dry. The salad was a very poor excuse for a dish. From the moment we approached this establishment, the decor intrigued my wife and I. They have their menu on the outside so we decided to check it out. As we were doing that, Luis the bartender, came out and gave us suggestions of entrees. We decided this was our place to have dinner at that point and we made a great choice. My wife had the chicken, mash with veggies while I had the salmon mash and veggies. Both were amazing and had us wanting more. Normally we don't do dessert but our experience was so good that we opted to have something. We asked Luis for his opinion and he said Apple Tart with Ice cream was his fav, so we gave it a shot. Came here for brunch with the kiddos. We had the chicken quesadillas, steak and eggs and a chicken sandwich. Small portions that took forever to come out. We all pretty much left still semi hungry. I would probably have rated higher if it didnt take the food so long to come out without explanation. Flavors are competent but I didnt leave raving about anything. Mimosas were ok but I did think their coffee was tasty. They have an open kitchen concept that was a nice touch. Their restrooms are immaculate and overall the whole place has a very modern decor. Went here to meet friends for dinner. I've always walked past here as it's close to my apartment, but I've never stopped in. The decor is super cute and kind of romantic. Great for a date night. I ordered the chicken quesadillas and they were GREAT. The order only came with 4 small pieces, which seems like I was getting robbed for $20, BUT they were delicious. My friend ordered the salmon dish with veggies which originally came out over cooked, but the waitress was more than happy to replace. The second attempt was spot on. The steak and rice was decent, but nothing spectacular. I have to say my favorite dish was the side of yucca fries. We ended up getting another order to share. I will try this place out again. This is a great brunch or happy hour spot in Harlem. Its more chill than some other restaurants nearby on Lenox and also has better food and prices than most. I've been here twice for brunch and both times my boyfriend and I shared the crab cakes and the breakfast burrito. The food is super delicious, although I wish the portion sizes were a bit bigger. We've gotten mimosa pitchers which are only $15, but they were kind of weak. Tio Luca has happy hour Tues-Sat 4-7pm and it includes beer, wine, and certain cocktails for $6. They also have a few happy hour tapas for $9 but I don't think that's a very good deal so I have not tried any. The sangria and margaritas are awesome though, and strong. There is some outdoor seating which is great during warm weather. The interior space and bar are nice as well. read more

This is a great spot the host were nice I only gave 3 stars because the prices are a little high and I only been here once. They do on the other hand have HH and the drinks were really good especially the Sangria. I am hoping to try out some more of the dishes on the menu but I will post pics of the delicious meal I was able to try when I was there. They tried to seat us at a four seat table and add a chair in the aisle....I guess they didn't know that was a fire hazard which I was happy to let them know. I started to let this slide, but, absolutely not. a large group of us were in for brunch, all but myself were repeat customers from the previous week. service was pleasant, food was great, service-- not so much. 2 specific, not unusual, requests were made on our order: a burger beyond well done, and a burrito with no cheese, because of a *serious* allergy. neither were honored. the burger was pink & the cheeseless burrito was given to the wrong person. THEN, the same friend with the previously-expressed dairy allergy, ordered dessert. churros! easy-peasy. the server didn't think to warn her they were cream-filled {???} nor, perhaps as importantly, did the menu. and she bit into one. her query: since when do churros have dairy? {between us we'd had them in Texas and Spain and many places in between, never heard of this} his response: THESE ARE NOT FROM THE SUBWAY. are. you. kidding. me. needless to say she ended up in urgent care the next day and was put on steroids for the swelling. returned to the restaurant and he was just as rude and unapologetic. all of my friends are extremely close neighbours and loyal restaurant patrons, zero will be returning. thanks for playing, Tio Luca! read more
