Out of all the salons in Ecity - this one is the best and the cleanest. I personally like to see Ian (I think her name is) she is very good and listens to what you want. She also does dip so request her if you want dip. I suggest making an appointment to avoid waiting. They also have the longest lasting pedicure I've had since being in the area. My only complaint is there's no service/wifi that I know of in the building so bring a book to read! read more

The lady didn't even put the primer befor The acrylic so it's been not even a week and the 50$ fill inn is already popping off and i told them they didn't care! Came here to try it out, was very skeptical! I usually go to VA but didn't want to travel. I got my dip powder nails removed and a manicure. The owner was so nice and we had a chat about their recent remodel. The manicure was $30, which I thought was over priced, but the environment was VERY clean and I was pleasantly surprised. I would return here. Lots of different spa pedicure choices, they do use liners. Very clean and calm environment. read more

good service and nice people, but my nails look absolutely terrible. i understand small imperfections but i mean they're beyond anything i've received, tons of air bubbles and very bumpy and missing polish in half of areas. length decreased by 50% with all the filing and my finger got cut and was bleeding all over the towel and was ignored. will never be returning even though i was down there for work. do not think about going here read more

I went here from the good reviews. Worst nails I've ever had. First I asked for gel nails. Like hard gel not acrylic. Well she did acrylic! I decided not to argue at that point because of the language barrier. Then she was filing and cut me in multiple places along my cuticle. 4 places to be exact. Next I wanted almond but short. She talked me out of almond and I ended up with square. Like I had no choice. She just made them square. Then it came to the bill! It was $47 for short square poorly painted acrylic nails. Not thrilled. I will not be returning. For $47 I could go to a much higher end salon and get exactly what I want! read more

I was charged $85 for a gel polish mani/pedi (not including tip), which is outrageous! Not even in a big city do I get charged this much. I came in with no gel or polish to be removed, so no reason to charge extra. Just plain natural nails. Out of politeness I did tip an additional $5 but wow! I won't be going here ever again. read more

Been going there for years... Best lashes and most realistic looking nail extensions. Every time they are booked and I try another nail salon in the area I end up with a banged up job. The shop is always very clean and the staff is friendly. No matter what shops I visit I always end back up at Tip Top. Gotta love MiMi she will get you looking runway ready.. nails, lashes, brows you name it. They also have the largest selection of gel polishes I have seen in the area. read more

Friendly owner who stays on top of his staff to insure service is quick, but well done. (Ie - you are going to get a tech who is best at your service, not the same one from beginning to end). Very efficient and insures a premium job well done. My pedicure was long overdue, I needed a fill on SnS nails and all were done well. There was a problem with one nail, the tech noticed it and corrected it without being asked. I have a feeling they are slightly more expensive than other salons (I am from out of town) but you get what you pay for. This shoppe is worth what they charge. Pay it and you'll be happy. read more

I got a basic pedicure and they did a wonderful job from beginning to end. The bowls have a protective plastic for sanitation, and the whole time we were there, someone was cleaning something. It's a very clean place and the people are very nice. Always have a smile on their face and seem to love their customers. You are welcome to drink refreshments too which is fun. read more

I heard this place was the only salon worth going to in Elizabeth City. I was disappointed. Within a week my nail polish was flaking on my toes and my fill in was lifting off my nail bed. Although the nail techs are super nice, the price was not worth the service given. My fill ins and pedicure usually last 4 weeks before needing to be reapplied. I went to a different place to have them correct the damage done to my nail bed by Tip Top. In the end, I will not be going back. I will be driving out of my way to Virginia Beach. read more

Wow! Spur of the moment going here and did not regret it one bit. I am new to town and this location was above my expectations. Location is good. Inside the establishment is clean and well organized. Employees are soooo friendly! I hope they never change. Their prices are average, nothing crazy. I got SNS for $40. A regular pedicure with polish for $29, and my eyebrows threaded for $15. I never found a place where I could do it all. But this will definitely be it! The owner is very kind. He went around giving customers complimentary sweet tea. Everyone helps one another. By far the best nail salon in Elizabeth City. Always the best customer service and even offer free beverages. The cost is around the same as any other nail salon nearby. However, they offer the very best in quality and lasting nails. Definitely worth every penny. They have a VERY good selection of services and many different nail add-on available. read more

Just moved to Elizabeth City from up north and read reviews of Tip Top and thought I would give it a try. Desperately needed to get my nails done after being here for 3 weeks. The staff was extremely friendly,welcoming and polite. They did a fabulous job on my nails.... did them just the way I like them. Will definitely be back in 2 weeks to get them done again.
