Not my worst experience but I don't think I'll be back. My friend made an appointment for us for my birthday. When we got there they didn't seat us together, they sat us apart and I had to crane my head the whole time to talk to her. I'm not sure why they did that. The guy doing my nails shaped my nails unevenly. I got gel nails but probably wouldn't again since they were smudged when I left and they already look like they're grown out even though I went a few days ago. Love, love, love this place. Wishing I still lived in the area so I could visit more often. Hands down the best please for pedicures and manicures. And compared to where I live, this place is super reasonable in terms of price. The salon is clean, light, bright and doesn't wreak of chemicals. I've gone to them for a fill and it's been good. But yesterday I went for a pedicure. It was pretty poor. My nails weren't filed and the polish was not smooth. My main problem was that that's how my pedicure looks at home and I haven't been happy with it. I went in to tell him I wasn't happy and showed them. I rarely give negative reviews but this was hands down the worst experience I have had with acrylics in the 3O years I have been getting them. Tommy was absolutely obnoxious. If I had not just moved here I would have left before he finished. And, I can honestly say that I was very nice. He made offensive jokes, never asked anything about me or what I wanted. It was $72 for a gel pedi and fill before the tip. I added a tip and he didn't even thank me OR ask me if I wanted to schedule my next appointment. Seriously, I think this place is running some other kind of 'business' out of it. They really don't seem to care about their customers at all and there were only three of us there. Hardly swamped. Here is the kicker: Within a day one nail broke. Three days later one came off. 4 days later another came off. NEVER EVER no matter how ruff I have been on my nails have never had this happen. I wanted to write a review after finding this place off Yelp, and then having a great experience. There was a previous review about the gentleman no being very good in some aspects, but I did not find this to be true. I was a walk-in for my birthday. There were 3 people with 3 guests, but they were able to accommodate me within 10 mins of getting there. Great massage, toes painted well with my pedicure, and a very cute salon! I would take my girlfriends here as a casual outing to my wedding party for the big day. It's a family business, I learned, and I like to support those kinds of businesses. I agree with other reviews about cleanliness, sterilized tools and just the overall ambience of the place. I went in to have my acrylic nails removed, the woman was rude from the time I walked in. Instead of saying "Hello" they said "wash your hands". After waiting for 10 minutes passed my appointment time started to file off my nail polish, she continued to file my too low, to my skin. When I would say "ouch" she mocked me! With a giggle, she just kept asking why I ouch so much, so I let her know she was filing my cuticles - this went on the entire time and she charged me $40. This place is horrible. Not only is the customer service shit but so is their job. I went in with my mom to get our nails done together and to treat her. Not longer than a little over a week ago and three of my nails have broken off. I have never had a nail break off before however after visiting Tips and Toes three broke. Took my mother her for a pedicure. The man who did her feet was completely disengaged from the service. He missed some crucial steps like a full exfoliating scrub to the bottom of her feet and a full foot massage. He literally just slapped her feet. Another customer came in for a pedicure and he left to set her up. We figured he'd come back to finish up, but he didn't! He just started on this other customer! My poor mother had to sit there and wait until the other nail tech finished a manicure. This tech just put some polish on her toes and that was it. Pedicure over. I wanted to refuse to pay, but my elderly mother didn't want to create a "fuss", so I let it go and paid. I would not recommend this "salon". They are a bit unorganized and unprofessional. I hear Queen Nails down the road a bit, is a good place. I personally go to City Nails on Coburg Rd. I would even recommend the nail place at Valley River Center before I would send anyone to this salon. They have a lot of work to do before I'd ever pay for Tips and Toes. read more

Older gentleman was very disinterested and after removing 3 of my fingers polish, decided to tell me that he was going to charge me $35 for the polish change because of the length of my nails. If I could give a negative rating I would. The guy who wouldn't tell me his name did not do a good job at all. I asked for short I had SUPER LONG. I picked a soft pale pink but ended up with a Barbie pink color. When I kept saying I wanted changes done I was ignored. When all was said and done and I wasn't happy at all I was told they didn't have time to fix their mess because they were closing. It was 6:11 - they close at 7:00. They had 49 minutes to shorten my nails and change the polish color. Instead I raced around to find another salon who could get me in to fix another salons shit work. Which ended up costing me $20 plus tip after I was forced to pay $46 for what what advertised as $36 at this shit hole salon. Totally rude and not customer oriented at all. First the positive. Nice and clean salon. My nail polish looks nice. The negative. I read the reviews before coming so had a certain level of expectation. I walked in and the silence was deafening and awkward. No music or anyone talking, I felt like I needed to whisper when the man at the front desk asked me if I had an appointment, I did. He told me to pick out my nail polish which I did. A few minutes later I was given a seat with the woman who was doing fingernails. I brought a picture of what I wanted and gave it to her. She had a problem with the length I wanted and for the next 5 minutes she told me why that wasn't a good length for me and I should go for a shorter length. What happened to the customer is always right? It's the length I've always worn my nails but got tired of trying to explain why and hearing her very broken English of why not. I went with her nail length to shut her up, not happy with the length at all, too short for me. While she was working on my nails she used her cell phone twice, apparently professionalism isn't her strong suit. When I'm paying for a mani/pedi I expect the person to focus on my service instead of their phone. She quickly did my fingernails and took me to the chair for my Pedicure. Normally they soak and scrub the dry skin off, I did get a good soak but as far as removing the dry skin she used a metal callous remover and hard brush that'd been reused on no telling how many other feet that day. I offered her my own callous remover but she didn't want it. She asked if I wanted a deluxe pedi which is exfoilliation scrub but ax the scrub part on the feet where I needed it for a spray tan the following day. Another 2 phone calls later my nails were done and they looked nice. Unfortunately I had grit and dry skin between my toes. They are on the expensive side for the quality of service performed. I came home and scrubbed the grit she left, I won't return. There is a language barrier so I will continue going to Bello Spa where I can understand them and they understand me and do what I ask. read more
