Never take anything here, they're a complete scam! They wanted $1,200 to put new rear drum brakes on my 2007 forester!!! The parts don't even add up to $200 on auto zone!!! I've heard they've ripped off other people too so this is not uncommon for them to scam people. read more

Excellent Service! Top notch! Last Saturday I ran over a curb in Wellsboro, PA , resulting in a flat rear tire. The garages in Wellsboro did not have the tire I needed and I called AAA and had my spare put on. My wife then called Tire Choice in Williamsport and they had one tire in the shop to fit my Mazda 6, An appointment was then made for 2 pm the next day, which was Sunday. We arrived early for the appointment and the Tire Choice manager, Scott Mitcheltree, volunteered to take the ruined tire in and prep it with the new tire to be put on at 2 pm. We left and did some shopping, and when we returned at 2, Scott immediately had a worker take our car into the garage and we were quickly on our way to Middletown, PA, which is about 2 hours away. OPEN ON SUNDAYS AND SAVED MY LIFE! I woke up to get a low air pressure notification in my car. In a panic because 1. I'm not from the area and still need to drive back to New York, 2. I had an event in Williamsport at noon (this happened just after 9am), and 3. I can't change a tire for the life of me...Monroe saved the day, thanks to Yelp showing they're the only ones open. These guys were super helpful. My sister's car broke down near Williamsport, and they got towed here. While we had to leave the car for repairs over the Christmas holiday, they were professional and helpful. If your not sure, go here and ask for Jerry. He will let you know what needs done and what you can get by with. I ordered tires from TireRack.com, and this was the only installer in the area where Tire Rack would deliver the tires to. I called on a Tuesday to set up an appointment to get the tires installed. When I arrived on Saturday (the appointment date), I was told that they would not be able to get to my car until the next day. I informed them that I had already set an appointment for Saturday, but I was ignored and the employee started putting my information into their system. I informed the employee that when I had called on Tuesday, that I was entered into their system then. Once again, I was ignored, and the employee kept asking questions about my name, address, etc. So I informed the employee that I would just take my tires somewhere else to have them installed. I then went into the garage area and asked the other employees to bring my tires to me. The manager of the store copped an attitude with me, and I quickly fired right back at him. When the manager brought the tires out to me he handed the tires to me, but when I grabbed the tires, the manager continued to hold on to the tires and glared at me. I informed the manager that I had the tires and he finally let go of them. I have never in my life seen such incompetence and arrogance out of any retail business before. Love these guys!! My daughter had an big issue with brakes lines blowing out on my pickup Truck while at school. We had the car towed to them at 4:00 pm on Saturday afternoon. Since no brakes were working they had to push the car from their parking lot to the garage to make the repairs. When they asked me the year of the truck I mistakenly told them 06 when it's was actually an 04. Totally my mistake. They then apologized to me for not catching my mistake and ensured the repairs would still be complete in time for my daughter to get home for Easter. In fact, the manager even came in on his day off to ensure the job got done. Which it did. You don't see that type of service from other places. I'd highly recommend!! read more

I recently had an issue with my exhaust pipe and brought my car to Monro for an estimate. They quoted me ~$350 including parts and labor. I decided to take a look for myself and found that the exhaust pipe had separated from a flange at one of the couplings. In fact, the exhaust pipe and muffler were in good shape (this accounted for almost $300 of the work estimate). I asked the mechanic if he could weld the flange back onto the pipe (a simple fix) and he told me this wouldn't be possible. I decided to get a second opinion at a garage in my neighborhood. I explained the problem and the mechanic said he would try to weld the pipe to the flange. Otherwise I was given a quote of just over $200 if the pipe and muffler needed to be replaced (still $150 less than Monro). It turns out he was able to weld the flange back onto the pipe and the whole job cost me about $75. I had a hunch that Monro would try to gouge me. I was right. Be careful if you take your vehicle there. They will try to sell you parts and services you don't need at inflated prices. On the other hand Noviello's Auto Repair did a great job for a fair price. They are a stand up shop and I will be going back there for any future auto repairs. read more

My girlfriend & I were in town for the LLWS (from Poughkeepsie, NY - 3.5 hrs away) and on Thursday night, accidentally struck a curb and didn't know the extent of the damage. A couple of locals recommended Dincher's Auto Body so I IMMEDIATELY brought our Honda Civic in first thing in the AM around 9 (with a full day planned). After coming outside and looking under the car, the mechanic walked me back inside (car still running) and printed me out an (insurance) estimate for get this... $768.68! He also told me that we wouldn't be able to get our car back until MONDAY. My girlfriend & I both HAD TO leave that night because we had work Saturday back home. Let alone money for 2 more nights at SOLD OUT hotel(S )for the surrounding 10+ miles. I told him that I had to run this by my girlfriend and then make a decision so I went back to our hotel with news I thought could jeopardize a relationship. I HAD TO AT LEAST explore other options and stumbled upon MONRO Muffler/Brake so I went there as well. I told the manager we were from Poughkeepsie, NY (3.5 hrs away) and our predicament and never told him I had already been to Dincher's. He assured me that he was my only option (something you never wanna hear from anyone, let alone an auto mechanic. LoL) to get us our car back THAT DAY! He couldn't give me an estimate without getting the car on their lift so I left him the keys and my phone # with the expectation of a phone call with the estimate. At 12:30(!), we took a cab to MONROE to put our belongings in the car and get that estimate that never came. I notice our car wasn't there and he told me that we had a bent rim ONLY and that he swapped the bent rim to the rear (stationary) wheel with that rear wheel to the front FOR FREE and explained that at a low speed, we could make it back home and make the further decision from there and that his mechanic was out testing that theory and simultaneously, that mechanic pulls into the lot in our car. WHAT!?!?!!! We bought the him lunch, had our car from there on out and got home where we purchased a new rim on Tuesday. Monro Muffler/Brake turned a complete NIGHTMARE into a best case DREAM. And Dincher's helped make MY mistake the nightmare. read more

I took my car there to get inspected and they told me that my breaks that I just had replaced we're down to the metal, I left and went to where I bought the car, cause they're the ones who just put all new breaks on it, when I got to the other garage, the tech called me into the garage and had my tires off, to show me they were BRAND NEW!!! Scam's!!!! They also just had my boyfriend's vehicle and it was to be inspected and they told him it needed all this stuff in order to pass inspection, we told them ok , don't touch it, we'll be there to pick it up, and when we got to Monroe, there was inspection stickers on it and they tried charging us when we just told them not to touch it , that we'll be there to get it!!! Wow!!! I didn't know that Monroe could make our decisions for us regarding our own vehicle!!!! They're scam's!!!! Beware!!! And I really wish there were a NO Star option, cause they don't even deserve a one star rating!!!! read more

Service is hit and miss. I've had good experiences in the past, but they have lost my business. I took my car in last month for a state inspection and oil change. I also told them I thought it needed new brakes and rotors, because they were starting to make noise. They had my car for over 6 hours and had to make a muffler repair, but said the brakes were fine. Within a week, the noise got much worse. So I took it to another garage and of course it needed new brakes, rotors and a front driver's side caliper.
