Let's face it: most of…read moreus are afraid to go to a car repair shop because we think we're going to be ripped off. That's not going to happen here. Bill is as honest as the day is long. It's the kind of place you can send an almost 80 year old widow and know she's going to be treated with respect and dignity and with the utmost fairness. And I know this firsthand, because my mother is that widow. She drives her car down from Chicagoland to be serviced by Meineke in Bourbonnais. That's how good and trustworthy these people are. You have a lot of choices when it comes to getting your car fixed. But you simply aren't going to find some place better than here. If you need your car looked at, don't hesitate to visit, and tell them I sent you.

Unless this place has changed or possibly changed ownership, several (i.e., more than two) bad…read moreexperiences I had here in the past--admittedly/honestly I had a few good experiences too--the details of which I don't care to get into because so much time has passed since, would cause me to never take our cars here for servicing again. In reconsidering, I'll relate just one of those "bad" experiences: After one of these "bad experiences" (a brake repair gone wrong), I was forced to take the vehicle up to one of the few Meineke Care Care Centers that had a good service rating, located in a suburb north of Chicago. After the Cook County Meineke fixed the brakes issue, the owner confided in/to me that they had fixed what was essentially a butcher job by the Bourbonnais Meineke shop. This was a vehicle--a "dangerous" vehicle after the initial brake "repair"--that we had given to our daughter and son-in-law and that much of the time had our two precious young granddaughters as passengers. In all fairness to the owner of the Bourbonnais Meineke, he attempted to make amends by giving us a $25 gift card to the Olive Garden. Needless to say, we never used it. The 5 star reviews, outnumbering the (6 or 7) 1 star* &/or 2 star* reviews, would attest to a fair amount of good experiences from a "lucky" group of patrons, so, (as Dirty Harry so sardonically said) if you're feeling "lucky", . . . -- [* The 1 & 2 star reviews--I advise you read them; there's some real horror stories in there. And owner Bill does have what I'd describe as a very unctuous bedside manner.]

What a bunch of scumbag dastardly…read more You tell my daughter that she needs hundreds of dollars worth of work when she had her 2013 CR-V in for an oil change. Work that we just paid to have done 4-22-25. Did you not do the work then? The same place that told my wife she needed brakes on the 2014 CR-V. The fact was. The brakes were only 40% wore and went another 50,000 miles before they needed to be changed. 2 out of the last 3 times we had the oil changed you shorted us 1/2 quart of oil. You owe us a quart of oil. They forgot to check the oil on.my daughters car when they picked it up. My daughter is calling back after the car sits and she checks the oil. These cars don't hold much oil to begin with. 1/2 quart is a pretty high percentage of the total. We were taught to start the vehicle to fill the filter. Shut it off. Let it sit while you lubed the doors and locks. Then check the oil and add as necessary. It's good practice to check the oil after an oil change, but you should not have to do it because some chissler is trying to chisel you out of a 1/2 quart of oil every oil change. However when the manager came over to tell me he wouldn't budge on the price of the new one giving me an excuse that's what he paid for it at auction and had to cover his dealer auction permits cost I and he wasn't making any profit. I debating on laughing in his face or saying something rude like who sells a car and doesn't make a profit. I'm one for not playing stupid games or wasting my time when you're talking almost 40000 out of my pocket. So I simply asked Joe to write everything out and I'd go over it later before making a decision. He typed everything out and was trying to be slick and added a 1500 dollar theft program into the deal and with out telling me untill I caught it. When asked about the dollar amount he showed me a flyer for added insurance for theft of the car. I started that's why I have car insurance and to remove this. He said they'd write in the deal and remove it later. Also pressing me beyond the norm of obtaining my e mail address so they can send me more junk that I don't want sent to me. Car buying is as easy and or as difficult as as the salesmen cares to make it. Due to the ridiculous comments from the manager and the lack of integrity of being up front about add on's for profit; thinking I'd sign a contract to make a commission or a few extra dollars profit, shows total lack of honesty and integrity. Treating customers like they are gullible and or stupid is just what makes car salesmen not worthy of buying a car from. as I see it, if they can't respect me and my time. Why would I spend my time purchasing a car here. As a final note if you check with the internet and other dealers you can obtain the cost of what dealers will likely pay and the original veh sticker to aid in knowing the proper price for any car. So why car salesmen lie is beyond me. due To these issues I'll be purchasing elsewhere. Good job guys, go back to car salesmen 101classes!!!!!

OLIVET PARENT REVIEW…read more I'm a skeptic by nature. When it comes to how I view mechanic shops, I always assume they are crooks and liars until they prove otherwise. WOW! This Midas location proved otherwise 10 times over! We had a VERY intermittent problem with our A/C and we were 8 hours from home for a visit to Olivet. Jim (owner) and his team didn't brush the problem off just because they couldn't reproduce it. They dug in and kept going until they thought they had found the issue. We drove the car that evening and the intermittent problem happened again. I knew that when a problem is that sporadic that it is very difficult for a mechanic to diagnose, so I was not upset with them, but I expected for them to be frustrated to see me back the next morning. There was no frustrated, but a smiling, warm welcome and immediate empathy with me that the problem was not resolved. (AJ at the front desk is simply amazing!) They spent the day digging in again and by the end of the day were confident they had figured out the problem -- and they had! On top of it all, they could have charged me for a lot of labor for those two days of work, but Jim was so kind and I walked out having paid much less than would have been reasonable. My experience here was not simply based on the service rendered, but the interactions with the owner and team convinced me that I had a shop that were dedicated to honesty and fairness; wanting to build relationships, not grab dishonest bucks. My daughter will be beginning her freshman year at Olivet this Fall and this is where she will be taking her vehicle for maintenance and service. Thank you, Jim, AJ and the Midas crew!

The price of the oil change was reasonably priced since they were having a sale. After this procedure I was informed that my day time running light was out ( I was aware) they offered to replace it, I asked how much, I was told since a difficult process to replace the bulb it would be $100. I reluctantly decided to have it replaced. After it was done ( didn't take too long) my car was ready. The light bulb was $100 but the labor was more than the light bulb! I was not told about the labor charge, because I was led to believe the whole thing was "$100 . What a dishonest practice! I didn't notice a price chart nor did I look, since I trusted them. Never again! How do you people sleep at night, doing this to your customers? I will not be returning to your shop, for anything again.
