I brought my car in the other day with no appoitment. I need the exhaust looked at and an estimate. When at the counter I asked for an oil change as well. The customer service was fantastic. I got a call about an hour later with the assessment. I okayed for them to fix the exhaust. I got a text a couple hour later my car was done. When I started my car it was sounding much better. I've been coming here for 15yrs with only a couple incidents that seemed off. I had one car towed there back in 2015 and the mechanics said my car was waterlogged just to get a call from my insurance saying the battery was dead and everything was fine. Then most recently I come in for an oil change and wheel bearing service and the guy tried to sell me on more services but at the time I only needed the stuff I came for. I paid for the work and later on get a call saying they added tires to my car without consent and want to threaten legal action. Very unprofessional, disrespectful and shady business tactics these people use. read more

I went in to get my power steering pump replaced. Nothing was wrong with my car other than and a wining noise when I started it up in cold weather. Which went away after 60 seconds or so if even that. It's been like that since I got the car. They quoted me $800. I agreed. Took it in the next day. They called and said because I had a bad control arm and bad tie rods is why my pump was bad. They quoted me 1200$ for that. I agreed thinking this was including the pump. But when I went to pick it up they said the noise would still be there and the noise was still there because they didn't replace the pump. They thought the pump would be fixed if we fixed this other stuff. I call a friend of mine who works on his own cars. He couldn't understand how they are even connected in the first place. But I take it back anyways to get my original problem fixed. Bad idea. Now I have a check engine light on and there's something leaking on my drive way and my car is making this rattling noise and my car is knocking when I make turns now. I take it back to Car care to read the code, they says it's a catalytic converter issue. So I take it to the place I took it to a year ago when I needed a catalytic converter thinking it might be under warranty. They say no it's another cat, not the one they replaced a year ago for me. So I let them change it because I don't want to get stuck on the side of the road with my kids when my last one went out. They come back with a diagnosis of also a busted exhaust pipe. That's why my car still makes that sound. And I need a new control arm bushing. A small issue turned in to a huge one. Never again will I go into car care in Bourbonnais. Idk if the tech that worked on my car has ever worked on cars or if he was just pissed and took a slug hammer to my car or what. But if 800$ wasn't bad enough now I'm 4000$ in the hole. read more

Would give him zero stars if I could. Brought my Ford edge there to get the front brakes replaced about six months ago or less and a literally just a week after it was having issues until it made a loud clunking noise when driving brought it to another shop and he said they replaced one of the brakes perfectly fine but the other one they put a different break for a whole different car. Costing me $500 that Car Care screwed me out of. I definitely recommend waiting longer for a different shop that does the job right. Just because they always have availability doesn't mean they are trustworthy. read more

I would come here for every oil change but my last visit was a major disappointment. I dropped off my car around 1:15pm on a Saturday and said I would be back knowing they close at 3pm. I ran and did a visit with my grandmother and was brought back a little after 2:40pm and they were already closed with my car locked in the shop. I tried calling with no answer twice and knocking on the door...no luck. I now figured I had to wait until Monday at 7:30am to get my car back when they were supposed to be open until 3 that day. No call or anything either to me to let me know my car was ready. I ended up messaging them via Facebook and was able to get my car an hour later but was pretty let down that they didnt even offer any apology and only seemed to care about when I'd be back to pay for it. I called in Tuesday to pay over the phone and the person I spoke with didn't seem to care about the frustration of the business etiquette and how much that would have effected my weekend and start to my work week and stated, "there was error on both sides" since I didnt arrive by 2:30...when no one told me there was a 'deadline' to pick up my car. Went there a little after 2:00 PM on a Saturday - they say they are open until 3:00. Needed windshield wipers replaced and was told they couldn't do it and would have to come back Monday since "nobody" was left working. There were 3 workers talking in the garage and another with the lady behind the counter. If you say you are open until 3:00, then stay open. We have done a lot of business there and never had problems, but no more because of the rudeness of the lady behind the counter. read more

Today i drove to the business because i felt my battery about to give out. When i stopped i got out and i spoke to a gentleman with braids in his hair and i asked did he know how much a battery was for the car i had. He told me to ask the woman at the front desk. I asked which door should i use and he told me it didn't matter. I came in and i asked her how much it would be for a battery for my vehicle. Right off back she was not friendly at all, she gave me a snooty look and then proceeded to spill prices from her mouth. She didn't show me any type of pricing or different ones to choose from. So i simply asked " okay what is your cheapest battery" she said 150 so i just started to walk to my car. When i started to try to turn it on it would not come on. It died. So the employee with braids came over to me with his little jumper box and told me he'll give me a jump. He had me pop my hood while i was still inside, and he put the little box on my car, had me start it then he took it off my battery and closed my hood. I then proceeded to take off, i did a U-Turn in their parking lot, and when i went to pull out my car died again. So i got out and started to call for help. I walked to the back of their building so that i didn't look funny. When i got on the phone for help, the lady that was being rude inside came out and yelled "you need to move your car," i told her " i can't move the car" she then said again, " your car can't be right there you need to move it," so i began to yell back (we were at a far distance) "i can not move the car, the car is dead, leave me alone I'm trying to get some help on the phone."(frustrated because i know she knows my car is dead she's just giving a hard time) So i started to walk to my car back to the front after that and i sat in it (people could still come in and out because i moved the car back BY MYSELF from THEIR entrance) . When i got back to the front and i sat in my car, another employee came up to my car and let me know that he could give me a jump with his little box. So i popped my hood for a second time, he put it on my battery. now during this time HE PUT MY HOOD BACK DOWN BUT I DID NOT SEE HE DID NOT TAKE HIS LITTLE JUMPER BOX. He told me "you can park right there if you want" and pointed to the side of the building. But i was thinking why would i park it, when my car starts i have to go so that it will not stop again. So i did another uturn but instead in their back parking lot ( the front lot is super small) and i started to pull out. The employees never tried to stop me or even get my attention, no one yelled, got excited, anything. I left the parking lot and got a few blocks down and noticed my hood moved. I was trying to get somewhere i could stop to see why i hood was moving. But before i could my HOOD FLEW UP AND BROKE MY WINDSHIELD. So i had to stop my car right in the middle of traffic. Then the manager tried to call the cops and SAID I STOLE THE LITTLE JUMPER BOX. Why would i risk my own windshield and hood for a little box, when i was already on my way to buy a battery?! It's completely insane and that was really wrong of the manager for that. Very dishonest and ignorant. read more

They can get a basic oil change done, as far as I know, but they over price things and will say certain things are broken that are perfectly fine and won't fix what I need to get done and since they refused to fix what we asked my car messed up and caused me to get into an accident. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Mechanics are knowledgeable, competent, and willing to take a second look at things if something doesn't seem right to you. The waiting area is large and air-conditioned. The prices are a little higher than most other places, but I find myself going back to them because of their customer service and helpfulness. read more

Avoid these scammers. While attending school down in Bourbonnais, my car broke down and I brought it to them to get it fixed. Fast forward 2 months later, I'm back home for summer vacation and the car breaks down again. I have a mechanic up here look at it and he tells me it was the same part that was replaced a few months ago causing the problem. I call Car Care to see if they would work with me since the part was under warranty. They tell me I need to have the car towed down for them to inspect it if it's within a 100 mile radius. After asking if they would cover the cost of towing if part that they replaced was the cause of the problem they tell me no. I ask if I can get the part inspected by another mechanic close to where I live because I'm out of the 100 mile radius and they tell me no again. After multiple attempts throughout the week to talk with the owner, he somehow doesn't have the time to return a call and is never in the shop when I call. Bottom line: CAR CARE AUTO CENTER WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK, ONCE YOU'RE OUT OF THE SHOP, YOU'RE SOMEONE ELSE'S PROBLEM. read more
