Got off to a bad start when they told me to be there at 7 am and didn't show up to unlock the door until 8. Charged me $2100 dollars even after a 15% discount to fix my AC which is on the high side. A friend told me they had the same thing done at another shop for $400 less. However, to their credit they were fast. Twenty four hours later they had the parts in and installed. And so far it appears they did the job right. Most places would have taken a few days so it wasn't all bad. If you're in a hurry and not too concerned about getting the best deal these guys will get the job done. read more

The place was completely dead, I booked an appointment, and was told they couldn't fit it in. The kid at the desk said I should have called. Why is there an online appointment service then? They refused to listen to the service we requested and ultimately I didn't have them do the work and I did it myself. Saved myself $1100. Been here twice. Once about 2 years ago and the second time a few months back. They've ruined one tire removing them from wheels on both occasions. A shop that can't even take off a tire without gashing the sidewall is a shop I won't trust for anything else either. read more

I give them 10 stars. I am a car rebuilder. the car was in there for an oil change when I was out of town. When I got back and ready to do my own oil change i saw under the car the shop had done some plastic zip tie work. and left several of the clips out of the engine cover. I brought this to Glenn's attention along with the tire balance issue (they rebalanced all 4 tires at 16000??) They put the car up and we both realized what happened was the engine cover had been damaged prior to it arriving at their shop. their guys put the ties on to correct an issue. We both agreed that his techs should let him know of such additions to let the customer be aware of a disrepair. don't just try to fix it. On the tire balance let's just say I was schooled on the requirements of tires. I did this on my own. SO all in all they made an issue they didn't cause RIGHT! and Glenn was more than willing to refund my 4 tire balance ticket.. I said NO that's cool. they needed it by information I collected from the tire manufacturer. He was only doing his job. GOOD WORK Tires Plus! You guys are a rare breed. I guess we should all realize that when you see something amiss in your car repair.. I cannot say enough good things about Tires Plus. I've been in for an oil change, and to get my battery fixed. The oil change was quick. I was in and out in less than an hour with a free tire rotation. Flash forward about a month and I accidentally leave my lights on and run the battery down on the car. I get a jump and the first sign of cold weather my battery decides to stop working. Another jump start, and I know exactly where to take the car. They charge the battery for me, as I was waiting until pay day to get a new battery. Battery finally gave out today and I took it right back in. I was in and out in 30 minutes with a new battery, at the price I was quoted to begin with. Not a penny more. I'll be taking my car to Tires Plus for everything from now on. We had a scheduled appointment time of 12PM to put on ONE new tire. We were on time and we received a wait time of about an hour. We decided to stay and wait out the hour. It's now 2:34PM and our car still isn't inside getting worked on.. What was the point of a scheduled appointment? We asked an hour ago how much longer and they said our car was next. Called to set up appointment for a tire repair that had slime added to it. Appt was accepted. Again told the technician slime had been added. He said no problem, we'll get it fixed in about an hour. An hour later Nate (who was excellent btw, just stuck in a really bad spot) informed me they couldn't work on the car due to the slime additive. Need a new tire. They had to order my exact tire from the warehouse because my tire was not in stock and I wanted a match since it was a brand new car with less than 2500 miles on it. Said to call at 11 the following day to come in when tire arrives. Called and spoke with another technician who said they'd check on status and call me back in a few minutes. 2 hours later I go to the store only to be told the tire did not get delivered by the warehouse. I called Big O Tire while in Tires Plus parking lot. They had my exact tire in stock and replaced in for me within 45 minutes of my phone call. Nate was excellent in dealing with me, however, this is not the first time I've had really bad experiences with this company. I was on my way out of KC about to embark on a 3 hour drive. My tire's lug nuts came off. These guys took their time and explain everything to me. Although it was a huge bill, they worked with me the best they could. I don't feel cheated and actually feel really good about my purchase. I went to Tires Plus on 350 Hwy in Raytown to have a new tire put on my suv. I was told that they cannot sell me one tire but could only sell me FOUR tires at 900.00 including road service. It wouldve been 700.00 w/o the road service. I told them I could not afford that kind of money & the car is only 3 yrs old...I needed only one tire. I was told that the truck was a four wheel drive so they had to replace all the tires. They encouraged me to apply for a credit card at that time. I said no thanks & left the shop!! I bought new tires for this branch some weeks ago. Everything was fine until about a week later my wheel cover flies off going down the road. After pulling over I see a lug nut was missing and the other three had no o-rings to keep the wheel cover attached. The next day I had to go out of town for work for three weeks. While out of town I ordered a new wheel cover and lug nuts for the car knowing I would need them when I get back. I went to get my new wheel cover and lug nuts installed thinking that they would take it in and have it done in a couple of minutes. So this is how it goes. The guy at the counter walks out with me to take a look. His first comment was " it looks like there was never a lug nut on there with all this rust." Insinuating I am lying maybe? (So I guess they regularly leave off lug nuts when a customer buys new tires.) After that he says they "are so busy and short handed that they can't get to it that day." I realize people make mistakes. I wasn't asking them to give me my money back or pay for my new wheel cover. I was actually going to get them to put some new brake pads on my car while they had it but I never got that far with this guy. It would have taken them two minutes to replace the wheel cover and lug nuts. But after seeing what an inconvenience it was for them to make things right I replaced my wheel cover and lug nuts myself in about 15 minutes. I'll take my money elsewhere from now on. Customer satisfaction is apparently on the bottom of their list of priorities, right below keeping a properly staffed service center. read more

On my 4th trip in for various reasons and I've always been impressed with the shop, however this time I encountered and angry little bald mechanic. He complained of his lack of wages in front of customers and stood around in plain view doing nothing while supposed to be working on my car. I understand frustrations in the workplace, I'm a retail manager, I don't however think its appropriate or professional to voice those frustrations in front of paying customers. I brought my daughters car here for an inspection. It's a 2007 Chevy trailblazer in good condition (100K miles and a crack in the lower right passenger side of the windshield). They failed the inspection for very questionable judgment calls (the front drivers side tire moves very slightly when you grab it and try to move it (not a tie rod problem) and his words "any defect in the windshield that the wipers touch interferes with drivers vision" - this is incorrect and the reason the inspection manual adds the detail about interfering with drivers vision). My suggestion - don't come here for car care unless you're ready for them to try to get some work out of you. read more

Service was very slow. I had a 10 am appointment for a state inspection. Took 1 hour and 45 minutes, all the while watching people walk over to the "waiting area" where the lack of seats was not the worst thing. It was dirty old chairs, small tv and a soda machine. The coffee maker might work but as dirty as it was, not worth the risk. It was very dirty, even for a mechanics shop. Also, the window to watch the mechanics work on your car is blocked almost completely by boxes and ladders being stored in that corner of the garage. Friendly enough staff but that's pretty much all it had going for it. read more

Exceptional service! The entire team was incredibly courteous and was very helpful during a bad storm today. They helped me and my two young children get into the building safely during high winds and rain--even letting me pull directly into the garage so we wouldn't be standing in the storm. Have purchased my last 2 sets of tires from here and have had no reason to complain. It's about time for a new set so I figured I'd call for a quick tire quote. I was left on hold by the guy who was supposed to be looking up my options for over twenty minutes. Then a totally different employee picks up the phone and ask what I need. I start to tell him my tire size I need and before I can even finish telling him what size tires were needed he says wait a customer just walked in, I'll have to put you on hold. I start to explain that I've been on hold for over twenty minutes now. Then I realize he's already clicked me over to hold without even listening to what I was saying. Went on a Friday afternoon to buy 4 tires and get aligned. Guy said no problem ,could have done in no more than an hour and a half .I was changing the 16 inch wheels on rims over to my seventeen inch rims in the back of the truck. I bought seventeens and showed the guy the wheels in the back of the truck I was changing over to, no problem he says. I said I would wait at the bar behind the shop. How convenient.(this was the only convenience in my total experience) Hour and a half later they call me and say they don't have the right size of tires for my truck and that they will check another store close by and call me right back. They call me back and say the wheels on my truck are really undersized for my truck and they could sell me some 17 inch rims. I then told them there was 17 inch rims in the back of the truck just like I had showed the rep. Oh! They acknowledged the the rep had not bothered to inform them and they were sorry because they did have the seventeens I bought and could have it all done in about another hour. At about the 4 hour and 45 minute wait time they inform me that they couldn't get a bolt loose and therefore couldn't align the truck. they said to go buy a camber kit and bring it back next week. I had the camber kits installed by a very reputable mechanic, took it back and was informed they still couldn't do it because they basically didn't have the right torque wrench. So about 6 1/2 hours of waiting and truck was still not done. Had to go somewhere else for the alignment. This place is a joke. Stay away, very far away if you value youre time and sanity. read more

I took my car to Tires Plus to get an oil change. They told me the oil was too low to change it. They said I would have to put a quart of oil in and bring it back the next day. Really the car is so dangerously low on oil you won't change it, but you want me to drive it to a store to buy oil! Needless to say the car was not that low on oil. There was oil on the dipstick, the oil level pointed at midlevel and the oil indicator light was not on. They said it was store policy to protect them from claims of engine damage. If the car actually had damage from insufficient oil, you could tell immediately. The car engine would have been smoking and would not have been running. I'm pretty sure someone just wanted to go to lunch instead of working on my car. I drove the car next door to Jiffy Lube and they were able to change the oil with no problems. We will never do business with Tires Plus again. read more
