I've visited Titanic Belfast three times. Once however would have been enough for me except friends and family wanted to see it also, thus I returned. In terms of concept, design and content Titanic Belfast is a wonderful, informative and moving experience. It consists of numerous galleries, displays, installations, rides, reconstructions and movies. Clear a full half day in your diary for a visit because it literally takes hours to walk around. Just as the movie did, Titanic Belfast allowed me to view the Titanic disaster differently. It brought into sharp focus the tragic magnitude of the ships sinking whilst simultaneously uncovering the untold story of the dock workers and city which brought the doomed ship into existence. Truly bringing history to life. Gallery four was by far, my favourite part of the Titanic experience. It includes reconstructions of passenger and staff bedrooms plus an amazing 3D style CGI journey through the ships interior, moving over all it's floors. The feeling is literally that of traversing through Titanic itself and it's fabulous. My main gripe with Titanic Belfast is that it's designed for tourists, not locals. Once you've been, there's really no need to return. Additionally, Titanic Belfast is located in a hard to reach location if you don't drive. Worth a visit though and hopefully in future Titanic Belfast will diversify into a greater variety of events, exhibitions and activities to benefit locals. read more

This is a very well done museum and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. We spent about 4 hours here. And easily could have spent more time. The museum not only teaches you about the making of the Titanic and the tragedy, but starts with the growth of Belfast in the industrial revolution. You can purchase the audio tour for 3 pounds, which I husband liked. However, I found the signs and other interactive pieces just as informative. The building itself is gorgeous. I highly recommend stopping by here and visiting! read more

Took my mum here today for afternoon tea in the Titanic suite. First off I was thinking it was a wee bit pricey for £48 for 2. But was pleasantly surprised by how good it was in terms of value for money. We were seated closer to the replica grand staircase than anyone else in the place. And right beside a jazz band that were playing some really cool music. We got served some beautiful salmon and salted beef sandwiches. Thankfully my mum doesn't like duck. So I got both duck spring rolls they were absolutely delicious! We had no breakfast this morning. I'm really glad we didn't. The array of cakes and scones we had made us laugh. Would never have thought we'd get through them. Amazing how many cakes you can eat when they're sitting 3 tiers high in front of you. The sitting lasts around 2 hours. And you really do need it. I had an excellent day. And as a Titanic historian there couldn't be better surroundings in which to spend an afternoon. Excellent service, beautiful food and cakes. Set in stunning surroundings, lovely music. If you're thinking about going...Go asap. You'll really enjoy it. read more

We were there in June 2019, l did not know that the Titanic was built in Belfast. This is an amazing museum with photos, displays and history about this very tragic voyage. The workers had to endure 16 hour days 6 days a week, in terrible working conditions. A must stop while in Belfast. read more

Had a weekend up in Belfast and went to Afternoon Tea in the Titanic because hey its the Titanic Afternoon Tea... You've gotta! It didnt really start too well though. We were 20mins early and the concierge was weirdly rude to us. He told us we weren't allowed up till our allocated time and kind just dismissed us in very few words. We just ignored it and walked around outside. 20 mins later again he didnt say anything too us and just told us to get off at the 5th floor. I dont know if it was because we're not your usual afternoon tea clientele or what but that guy would get a Yelp 1 star. The setup upstairs though was very cool. The room was designed to mimic the actual dinning area on the titanic which we quickly recognised from the film. The staff in the dinning area all get Yelp 5 stars. So attentive, smartly dressed and polite. The food itself though was just not up to scratch. It started well.. Prosecco was tasty... The sandwiches were very nice. Then moving up the scones were tasty. Next though were these little cups with dessert and neither me or my girlfriend could finish them. They looked like they were picked up in Tesco in packs of 4 for 2.99 and to top it off they gave us plastic spoons to eat them?!?!?! Like come on if you're paying 60 pounds plus for afternoon tea at the titanic at least give your customers real cutlery!!! PLASTIC SPOONS! The top layer of desserts were mediocre at best too. I couldnt finish any of them. Its a real shame cause the venue is really nice and the staff are brilliant just the food was not up to standard. Ive been to a few afternoon teas in hotels and this one really falls behind on the food front but this is a novelty afternoon tea so you cant really compare the two. But please get rid of the plastic spoons! read more

Expensive, but really nice My mum and I went to Belfast in 2017 whilst she was over in Glasgow visiting me. The city is small and this is pretty much the main attraction. It's an amazing museum, brand new and world class. It features a really detailed virtual tour with sounds and smells. Must see if you're in Belfast, not much else to do anyway. read more

This experience is super informative and interactive. It goes through all aspects of the ship from building the foundation to form the ship, to the types of fabrics used in furniture and to background stories on passengers of the ship. I've always been so intrigued by the Titanic and have always wanted to see this exhibition. It is a little pricey for the few hours you spend here but it's worth it if you are really interested in the ship. They did a really good job of making this interactive for adults and kids. I noticed a little scavenger hunt for kids throughout the museum to find characters which is a great way to keep their interest as there is a lot of waking around and reading involved. The building is beautiful from the outside and is lighted up at night, it was lit up green the weekend I was there for St Patrick's weekend which was nice to see! read more

This has been on my things to see in belfast list for a long time and i was not dissapointed. The city tour bus drops you right outside and right away the size of the museum really grabs you. Designed to look like the original hub of titanic it really gives you an idea of the size of the ship. The tour is self guided with guides in random places pointing out usefull points of note on the exhibitions. There is an impresssive ride to travel on and a fascinating film clip of a recent exploration to the wreck. Its something that i would really recommend on a visit to the city and i really enjoyed it. Small note tho ... £2.25 for a 500ml bottle of coke?? Shocking price to charge and that is the only reason i have not given this a 5 star review. read more

If you are in Belfast I highly recommend stopping in. The museum is extremely interactive and because of the all digital exhibits and sound it can get a bit noisy and loud especially when the school groups arrive. Overall the museum does a great job of transporting you back in time and giving you the context of Titanic's importance along with the impact of the tragedy. I would also add a visit to the pump house located behind Titanic, it's a short ten minute walk past Titanic studios where Games of Thrones is filmed. A must see in Belfast!!! read more

We traveled 1,700 miles around Ireland for our honeymoon in October and ended our trip in Belfast. Being a Titanic fan, this experience was a must! I signed my husband and I up for the WHOLE package. The guided tour, self guided tour, and SS Nomadic self guided tour. We started our day with the guided tour. Our tour guide Rob was the coolest! He was a great guide and held our interest the whole time. He is very knowledgeable when it comes to the history of the Titanic as well as the history Belfast. Rob was very engaging and even found me and my husband after his tour and told us cool stories about some of the artifacts in the self guided portion. We talked to him a bit and got to know a little about him. The museum was beautiful and the building itself is a work of art. There's so many cool things about the building that relate to ship that you'll learn on the self guided tour. We spent 4 hours here and they were worth it! If you find yourself in Belfast, add this to your to do list! And hopefully you get Rob as your guide! read more

This is a pretty cool musuem. Very historic landmark in history here and it was a really cool experience to stand in the very spot the ship was built. I was slightly disappointed about all the exhibits. It seemed as if it were more about a show and tell. There were no areas of actually pieces from the titanic. Nothing that was saved as far as photographs, recovered items, just mostly a history of the people and how the rooms were like on the ship. I figured as well that since the building of the ship happened right there and the land was preserved they might've added the titanic memorial or a statue of some sort to represent the hard work the men did to build the ship. There is a plaque but does not quite do it much justice. read more

Worth your time and money. It's nice to know that they invest heavily in providing a valuable experience to tourists. Several interactive experiences along the way, educative and nicely put together. It took us about three hours to complete the tour but it's self guided, so there is no rush! This might as well be the number one reason to come to Belfast, but once again, it's really worth it. Only a couple of hours from Dublin by car, and it would complement your Ireland tour nicely. Very recommended! read more

This is a great museum. It was different from what I expected but I still really enjoyed myself. First off, there are not really any artifacts at all. There are some letters and some documents but that is it. This museum is mainly informational. I still really enjoyed it but I feel that some people might be disappointed to see that there are almost no artifacts. I was expecting it to be similar to the Titanic exhibit that I saw in Vegas a few years back; that had lots of artifacts from the ship. This museum is so beautiful and it is still fairly new. This gift shop is really not that great but it is still nice to check out. This is pretty much the only thing to do in Belfast. After my friend I left, we wanted to grab food, but that was virtually impossible. There are basically no food places around and practically everywhere was closed...in the middle of the day on a Saturday. Something else important to keep in mind: even though Belfast is a part of Ireland is it still part of the United Kingdom, so they do not accept the Euro, only the pound. We tried to grab a taxi and they would not take our cards and did not accept Euros. read more

This is the kind of place where you can brag to everyone that you've been to, because there are two kinds of people: people that haven't heard of it and are jealous or people that are dying to go here and are jealous. I guess that means there's really only one kind of person then, eh? Everyone is in awe about the Titanic. Maybe it's because our generation found its wreckage or 100 years ago is so far away yet so close. This is something you have to see in Northern Ireland, along with the Giant's Causeway. I thought before I came here, that it would be a boring museum with pictures and then an expensive gift shop. Well, I was wrong. This museum was worth every pence spent and I didn't get to go to the gift shop because they closed early to host a snooty cocktail party for some important person. After you buy your tickets and go up the escalator, there is a machine where you can scan the barcode of your ticket receipt and get an actual replica Titanic ticket with the date of your visit. I LOVE stuff like this. Other cool things in the exhibit: a ride, models of cabins on board, reprints of old posters, history of Belfast's industry, video on exploring the wreckage, and so on. This museum is completely interactive which is great for all ages, though I didn't see any children there at all. Lots of audio, buttons to be pushed, levers to be moved. There is also an interactive map on a diorama which is something I'd love to add to my house some day (for no real reason at all, just another cool factor). read more

Spoiler alert! It sank in the end. Ok, so here you have a world tourist attraction. This gorgeous building houses everything you need to know about the world Famous titanic. I don't want to be too critical, but I would have expected more. I have attended an exhibition in Las Vegas that hosted the "big piece". Giving that the titanic was built in Belfast I would have expected more artefacts. There is a mono-ride that takes you on a very short ride of the building of the titanic. This is suitable for all ages, but adrenaline junkies should avoid it. You will be disappointed. The self guiding tour gives you lots to read and see with interactive exhibits dotted throughout. There are cafes and restaurants within where you can grab a nibble too. read more

This was a really fun thing to do in Belfast. I am Titanic obsessed but even if you're not the multi-level interactive museum is full of interesting facts that will satisfy everyone from engineering nerds to movie buffs. There is even a ride and a tacky photo-booth so you can recreate you own Jack and Rose moment! (Which I totally did) I recommend going early so you have enough time to immerse yourself in this museum as well as take the walk around the original ship building docks. read more

I wasn't the biggest fan of this museum to be honest. The building itself is very nice and good to get your token holiday snap outside. Parts of the exhibition are interesting and it is good that they cover Belfast history too and not just the Titanic. However, I thought it was trying too hard to be different and modern at the expense of the story that was trying to be told. In particular, there were these really random pods that brought you around a bit of the museum. It felt so bizarre and completely unnecessary. The entrance fee is a little on the steep side at £14.75, it's a little cheaper online. It is an extra £3 to see the dock where the Titanic was actually built, I was too late for the last entrance to that and it was baltic outside anyway. The location is only a short walk from the city centre, but there isn't much around it (bit of a waste land). read more

I wasn't expecting much but it was a very nice few hour trip. Very informative and it was nice to see where the boat my father took, the third iteration of the Britannic, was built. I didn't expect much when we first got in as it was a lot of reading on the walls but the further you went the more interactive things you found. A working model crane that even old men were loving to use. Informative videos that gave me a great understanding of the building of the ships. I then walked on and ended up on an amusement park ride which gave us a great perspective of the work done by the men. Lovely work done to show the various cabins each group were give. There was a really nice room that gives you a 720 degree perspective of each level of the ship in video form which was computer generated from pictures of the inside of the ship. Nice movie at the Points off for ignoring the fact only certain groups could be employed by this shipyard. read more

At least 3 galleries are not worth the space and there's more actual artifacts of titanic at the transport museum. Titanic Belfast isn't really a museum it should be viewed more as an attraction and then it makes sense. The afternoon teas held at the grand staircase sound like a recipe for success but the food is a tremendous let down. You'd expect fresh food and quality for the money you pay. read more

Don't waste time on the first floor reading about ropes, linen and other odd items. Skip ahead to where the elevator takes you upstairs. (#12 on the $4 self guided audio.) This begins the Titanic section and can take 1.5 to 2 hours. I wasted 1/2 hour thinking "this is the worse titanic museum ever" when I finally got to the elevator which took me to the good parts. Then I ran out of time and energy before I got everything done so I repeat, don't waste your time on the beginning section!! read more

Quite a good background on the shipbuilding yards and the history of ship building and the development of Belfast as a city The museum starts at the top of the building and gives a brief overview of the maritime history of Belfast and the Harland and Wolff company. Then as you move down the levels and into the building of the titanic there is some wonderful detail about the engineering feat of building such a massive ship. read more

I was sceptical about the whole 'Titanic Belfast' thing. As a Northern Ireland resident (and tax payer), it seemed like this project would just be another big, expensive and pointless white elephant. I was also unconvinced that visitors to Belfast would actually come because of the Titanic link - tourists I speak to tend to be more interested in the conflict aspect of our history. Another issue is that the 'Titanic Quarter' project (aimed at creating a new district of Belfast with shops, high-end apartments and restaurants) has pretty much staggered to a halt. There are some (empty) high-end apartments, but not much else. So it was with a healthy dose of said scepticism that I went down to Titanic Belfast to see what all the fuss is about. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. For tourists in Northern Ireland, one thing that should become immediately apparent is that the tourist industry is very much in its infancy. Until now, Belfast itself has lacked a truly world-class visitor attraction. Titanic Belfast has changed all that. The first thing that a visitor will notice is the striking architecture of the building; it really is different and fits perfectly into the industrial landscape of the city's docks. I ventured inside and bought my ticket - £13 is steep, but as it turned out, worth it. I visited early in the morning which allowed me to avoid the majority of the crowds. This really is a top-class museum, plenty of money has been spent and it shows. The story of the Titanic is told in great detail using the latest technology. The recreations of the cabins were a particular highlight, as was the 180-degree projection that allowed you to take a virtual tour of the ship. I felt that the shipyard ride was something of a let down. The designers have quite obviously put a lot of thought into the ride system (which is certainly impressive) but the content of the ride itself is nothing special at all. You fly past a few video screens and listen to a commentary that just repeats things you have already read in the exhibits. This ride really could have been a highlight of the museum. A real missed opportunity. The section devoted to the Titanic wreckage was an unexpected and interesting experience; the multi-media exhibits were very informative and the large cinema screen was fascinating. The staff seemed friendly and fairly knowledgable. The whole museum was spotlessly clean and well maintained, everything was working and walking around it was an easy and pleasant experience. I finished the tour with a visit to the gift shop, which stocks the usual array of over-priced tat and rubbish (Titanic marmalade anyone?) I didn't buy anything, but tourists seemed impressed with the selection. All in all, Titanic Belfast was an experience I have no trouble in recommending. Hopefully more local residents will fork out the cash to experience the city's flagship attraction. I also hope that the success of the museum will spur on the Titanic Quarter project, which is starting to look a little depressing. read more

This museum is an impeccable masterpiece in architecture and shear post modern magnificence. If you are looking for artifacts head to the Luxor in Las Vegas. Other than that there is another display in Liverpool. This is more of a tell the story of Titanic. But don't let that get you down. This has a ride, the new equipment they used to find it, and all types of stories. I walked in with serious doubts that there were no artifacts and it really tainted my viewpoint. This museum is amazing, seriously world class! Don't forget to go to the restaurant Bistro 401. It is really outstanding. read more

To preface, Scott who worked at the SS nomadic was accommodating and kind. We purchased a 3:00 ticket reservation in advance for the one day we were in Belfast. We arrived a few minutes after 3:00 as the parking garage entrance was closed and no none was there to direct us where to park. Another patron ended up just as frustrated and told us where to go. Once we arrived at the vessel, we were told the museum closed at 3, even though our tour tickets were for 3. The person at the entrance told us to come back another day, even after we told him it was our only day in town. He kept on just repeating we should just come another day. Scott allowed us to come in to take a look, even though most of the things were being shut down and other patrons were still inside. The other workers there tried to refuse us entry and complained in front of us to Scott about him letting us in. We overheard Scott say that they needed to be nicer and more accommodating since the rest of the museum was closed. Once inside, we were followed around by workers there who kept ruining our experience and telling us we had to leave. They ended up escorting us out prior to 3:30, which we found out was the time the exhibit actually closed. We had a horrible experience and to try to make up for it Scott stayed a few minutes after to talk to us about the history of the vessel while the other workers complained. Overall, it was not the experience we paid for and we weren't treated respectfully. read more

Too much! This is a hard Exhibit to enjoy. Too many guests and too much information. Lighting is not good for seeing the detail on many of the displays. Food in cafe is okay. Share. The portions are huge. We were here at noon on a Saturday. Maybe early in day during the week would be a more manageable time to visit. read more

What a experience! People told me it is great to visit the Titanic Museum in Belfast and hey I thought, that would be great to go there when my folks are visiting. So it was.. For general admission you pay 15.50 British Pounds, which is not that cheap, but here is what you get: 2 hours minimum of learning about Belfast Harbor, stories about building the titanic, the dramatic sinking and incredible stories about the people using it to travel to New York which makes it even more lively. The museum uses different forms of teaching you - you can get an audio guide for 3 quit extra (which I definitely would suggest!) but then they also let you tour through a shipbuilding side on a shipyard ride - what an effort! And there is a huge discovery screen where you can "visit" the wreck with high-definition footage, and there are interactive learning pods available to explore the details of the discovery. In the exploration center you can try out models of the different high-tech equipment used during these deep sea missions. It's cool - not only for kids, definitely not only for kids! It's for everyone! Go and enjoy! read more

This museum was more about how a ship is built compared to being solely focused on Titanic. There were few artifacts and the exhibitions were hardly interactive (slideshows at best), the decor is good but the only part that really kept myself engaged was the last part. As a person in academia (History) I am surprised at how little there was. The ending puts you in a theatre where they go in a submarine and explore the Titanic and the field of artifacts at the bottom which was incredible. But for the price tag, I can safely say this is a skip. read more

This is my third visit here and my wife's 1st. This is The Premier Indoor Visitor Attraction in Northern Ireland and possibly all Ireland!!! It has evolved since my last visit but each visit I learn something new!! Be prepared to allow at least 2-3 hours to see, feel, read and experience everything!!!! From the history of Belfast, its relevance in the World to the H&W ship yard and then the Titanic, this is a remarkable experience. Learn how the Titanic was conceived, designed, built, knitted out, launched, sank and found......it's a true testament to Northern Ireland and is the must see attraction. read more
