Very well done with cool exhibits. I know you are thinking this would be a depressing visit with the demise of the great ship, but it isn't sad, as it is very thoroughly done and incorporates Belfast's shipbuilding history through today. This is a very modern museum with several touch screens, videos, audio presentations, and even a "ride" attraction. You could spend a couple of hours here easily, we left wanting more as we got there at the end of the day, we didn't have enough time to enjoy the final exhibits as much as we wanted to. read more

This brand new museum is pretty awesome. My friend and I ordered our tickets online several weeks before arriving in Belfast. We had no trouble retrieving our tickets from the kiosk, and the staff let us enter early because the museum was nearly empty when we showed up (before 10 AM on a weekday). The museum tells the story of the construction, maiden voyage, and sinking of the Titanic, and the rooms are laid out in such a way that all visitors have to visit each room in the same order. Some people might complain that they can't explore the museum freely, but I thought that traffic flowed very nicely and the narrative made a lot of sense that way. There aren't a lot of artifacts from the ship, but that's to be expected. The replicas and displays are very impressive - everything is new and designed well. I liked that there was a short optional ride in the rivet area. I really liked the area at the end with the film and interactive exhibits about the wreckage at the bottom of the ocean. I don't think this is the kind of place that most people would visit over and over again, but I would recommend Titanic Belfast to anyone who finds themselves in Belfast. read more

I thoroughly enjoyed myself here. I got there a bit early before my time slot, so I went outside to take a look at the shipyards. Pretty neat to see the actual spot where the Titanic was built, and a plaque unveiled by the great-nephew of Thomas Andrews to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the building of the Titanic in that spot. Paid a few extra dollars (yes, dollars, I booked my package from home) to get a souvenir photo, where I stood in front of a green screen to get my photo taken of myself in front of the Grand Staircase. Could have also taken a photo of myself on the bow of the ship, but how cliched is that, right? The exhibit also had a small shipbuilding ride -- which I got on immediately since it was not that busy -- where it takes you through the process of what went into the building of the ship. Did not eat there. Quaint little gift shop, but laid out kind of awkwardly, so it was difficult to move through without having to touch people. Worth the money. Would recommend for die hard RMS Titanic enthusiasts. If you just liked the James Cameron movie, you might be a little bored. read more

Visited this museum today. Great place to spend a couple hours on a rainy morning. Very well done exhibition. Lots of information on the titanic experience. Able to learn about that period of time in Ireland by watching films and experienced interactive rides. Museum is in a beautiful building with spectacular views. Inside you can find a caffe and a restaurant as well as a very large souvenir shop. The titanic exhibition is spread out over 4 floors. There are plenty of guides to answer questions. The only negative is you can get a chaotic feeling because of the amount of people inside and outside the building. People are assigned time slots to view the exhibition. read more

Everyone likes it here but only if you know and care about the Titanic story. This story is more than the story of the tragedy, it's a grand story about building the biggest ship ever at the time, and how it was done. Nobody ever thinks about the engineering and the design and the 3 million rivets that held the steel plates of the two hills together. There are details about the furnishings and the propellers and the steam engines to actually make this shop work. Of course there are stories about the people, not only the passengers but also the firemen keeping the boilers fed and and the stewards feeding the passengers and the radiomen sending out the distress call. If you want to know more about this fascinating story besides watching a movie, this is a place you need to see. It's easy to get to and easy to follow the path in the beautiful building and easy on the pocketbook. If you're in Belfast, just go. read more

I've been here a couple of times, most recently last month. I was disappointed in how the quality has deteriorated - they are charging world class prices to get in (19 pounds this year), and the exhibits are no longer world class. There were several at the beginning of the tour (3) where the lighting was so poor in the exhibit that it was impossible to read anything about the exhibits. The cable car ride exhibit looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years. I came away resentful of the money I had spent. Also, being from Northern Ireland, the lack of attention to detail while charging a premium for entry just looks like a rip-off. read more

This is a really great museum! If I sound a little shocked, I kind of am. I'm on a guided tour and it was one of our stops, and to say that I was disinterested was putting it mildly. However, this museum is just so well done! I really enjoyed the focus on the town of Belfast and what it was like around the turn of the century. They also explained the craft of shipbuilding so well, with great interactives and displays. I think the focus on shipbuilding was the strength of this museum. If yore are looking for ghoulish artifacts of the wreck, there's not a lot of that. read more

I was truly amazed by the impact of this museum. The Good: I thought this was only about the Titanic but it was also about the economic history of Belfast and the pride of the community upon completion of the Titanic. Second, I was surprised at how moving it is. You hear the voices of some of the survivors, and you're moved to realize the loss of life. Finally, everyone who works there is just incredibly friendly. Also, one restaurant serves newspaper wrapped fish and chips - pretty good. The Bad: There is a lot more displays to read than I anticipated which may make it hard for you to read everything if you're there with children. The Ugly: Nothing. read more

It was ok. They clearly spent a ton of money and time trying to make this a wonderful experience. The building is really interesting looking and there were plenty of people around to help out. However, there was so much information about HOW they built the ship and what the conditions were like when they built the ship. That was interesting but was probably about 75% of the experience. Perhaps I had too many expectations going into the building. Thought I'd see more about what happened on the ship, the artifacts, etc. In my humble opinion it wasn't worth the price. read more

The Titanic Museum was the perfect way to spend part of my day in Belfast. After reading other reviews, I decided to buy my tickets online and was able to skip all of the lines and beat the large groups of tourists. It was very crowded when I went in early June around 10 AM, but around 11 AM the rush died down a bit. You can easily spend about two or three hours here, as there are lots of interactive exhibits and even a ride inside. If you are interested in learning more about the history of the Titanic, this museum is a must! read more

The building itself is very impressive, and the installations are all very stylish and modern. But... in terms of artifacts (of which there are almost none), information on the disaster, perspective about the ships size and importance... I think it is pretty poor. For instance, there were no pictures or diagrams of the iceberg that the ship hit. One moment you are looking at the ship being launched, the very next the ship is already going under water. There was a whole journey across the Atlantic that was basically just left out. It was £16 in too, and the coffee, water, food was expensive - so on top of the bus/taxi getting there and back, we spent about €35 each. read more

Titanic Belfast was on my bucket list after a 25 year interest in the Titanic and the disaster that ensued. I was in Dublin on a business trip and knew while I was there that I needed to trek up to Belfast. I'm really glad that I did! The museum is beautiful inside and out - and getting to the museum from the train station is an very easy walk. The artifacts, history, video's and interactive ride make it a real gem. I think if one has the time break up your titanic visits it would be best so you can have plenty of time to explore the expanse of the titanic experience. Good and worth it but not Great. As An American living now in Dublin I had heard this was a good thing to see. It was well laid out and filled with some good information. There are some good visuals and the there is also much focus and and visuals into the shipyard Worker's who build these amazing resorts on water. I love the history of Belfest! Visiting the museum dedicated to the Titanic, it's a really nice facility. It's a modern design, and very clean. This brand new museum is a striking building sitting in the surprisingly beautiful city of Belfast. Everyone enjoyed the museum which had a lot of information and excellent exhibits and interactive videos. Three minor complaints...the layout could be better as sometimes you are not sure which way to go to remain in chronological order, some of the spaces get crowded when everyone is trying to read the information, and the little "ride" has background noise way too loud to hear the recorded information (take it anyway). Excellent little cafe. I'm sure the larger restaurant is just as good. read more

I read a lot of good reviews about this however I thought it was way over priced for what you get. I was disappointed.

There was loads of information about Belfast history, the shipping yards, titanic and how it came to be. There was some amazing information on how the titanic was discovered and the technology that was used. I wasn't that interested in the titanic when I went but learned a lot of things, enjoyed the audio tour and had a good time. You will need at least 3 hours or more to take your time. read more

This museum is very well done. Good mix of hands on, video and displays. Definitely a must see.

I was talked into going by the concierge of the Hilton, and by a friend who is living and working here. It is SOOOO not worth the 16 pounds I paid. (You can get just the museum for about 13, or the museum and pump house for 16 pounds.) I got through the whole museum in an hour, and by the time I was done, was so bored by it, that I didn't bother going on to the Pump House. If you're obsessed with horrible accidents, you might love this museum. But basically, it's just a bunch of stuff you can read on the web, with a little ride thrown in for about 3 minutes to make it feel "multimedia". Not the worst exhibit I've seen. Maybe if it had cost about 8 pounds, I would be giving it a better review. But for 16, what a waste! read more

I was able to pay 9 pounds for admission because it was 5pm and they offer closing time discount. I finished touring the museum at 6pm (the closing time) so it was perfect! The museum had many interactive demonstrations of Titanic and its history, as well as passenger experience, so I really enjoyed the whole museum. Disappointing. School tour arrived just as we went in. The kids ran riot and broke a few of the interactive machines. Yelling so you couldn't hear the ones that did work. Dodging bodies left and right. The facility should keep a tighter leash on the kids rather than letting the poor teacher try and deal with all of them. Only good thing was the first, second, and third class cabins. No artifacts. Mostly just a lot of reading similar things over and over. Outside part was cool but you don't need to pay to go to it. Staff was friendly. Gift shop was lackluster, very touristy with not a lot of unique items. My girlfriend loves the movie and everything to do with the Titanic and even she was let down. 2 stars because of staff, otherwise I wouldn't recommend at all. read more

This museum was okay. It was a bit too "edu-tainment" for me, with lots of conjecture which drives me crazy about modern museums. I think as an art installation, it's glorious. Beautifully presented, and very appealing. But really, for die hard Titanic junkies, I think it is a bit disappointing. I would have liked to have learned more about the passengers, maybe seen some artifacts, maybe a bit more information. I think this museum tries really hard to be interesting to kids, and I think if you have kids aged about 12-14, they will like it. I just felt a bit disappointed. On a side note, their cafe serves really delicious coffees and sausage rolls. read more

The Tour Guide was so passionate about the ship & we learned so much about both the ship & the shipping industry within Belfast.
