Upon entry the receptionist checks you in and encourages you to watch the 15 min video prior to exploring. They also have a scavenger hunt to keep you entertained throughout the stroll. The exhibit was very unique and filled with unique history. The museum is very tiny and leaves you wanting more. As large as it appears from the outside, you would think the museum would be congruent. It took us about 30-45 mins to stroll through it, and that included the 15 minute video. There are so many videos and hands on activities. They have a rope tying station, They have stations where you lift the flaps and you can learn more. When they talk about the orange groves you walk into a little building front. Inside they have more information. When you learn about the shipping industry you walk into a shipping crate and there is a little interactive video. When you learn about the ships that carried cargo they have a room you go into and they have a video. You choose what route you take on the monitor and then it tells you a story with live action about where you go into a room and they have a video presentation. Spoiler alert, there are pirate ships involved. It has multiple screens and you feel like you're in a Hollywood live action movie. This place is a must see for those history buffs and those that like to be entertained and enjoy interactive exhibits.

Our admission was free so I wasn't expecting much, but this museum has a lot to see and experience. We started at the 4th floor to see the pirate ship and worked our way down through the galleries. I really enjoyed learning about Tampa history as someone who is not from here at all and didn't know much. There are several interactive exhibits on each floor which I loved. My 7 and 8 year old had a great time and wanted to stay longer, but after 2 hours we had other obligations later that day. If you enjoy museums, I highly recommend visiting. Plus, there are ways to get free admission like checking out a pass from the library.

The architecture of the building had great lighting and spaces. Not huge, but also not small. I believe they are expanding too. Cafe downstairs and a gift shop. Took two turns at the art work. One solo and one on the free tour. The tour is absolutely a must. I learned so much and got to get a better understanding for the pieces and artist. Gift shop was fun, but I expected more unique things. Pricer side. I'd say overall visit absolutely worth it. Nice walkable area nearby. If you're lucky, you'll see some dolphins!

We had tickets for the after hours iMax show, Dark Side of the Moon. The event was well organized…read more We checked in on the first floor and got our VIP wrist bands for preferred entry. Then we walked up to the third (second?) level for the theatre. We got in the left queue, which was for preferred. The show started at 6, and we were allowed in at 5:45. We chose seats in front of a large box which might have been part of the projection system. For future shows, behind it a row or two would be better. We found ourselves putting our head back and craning our neck left and right frequently during the show. The seats were comfortable. The sound and picture quality were the best! For about 47 minutes we were completely immersed in the music of Pink Floyd and brilliant images of the world or subject matter of the songs on the album. Exiting the theatre was as easy as entering it. We walked down the stairs and walked outside to get to our car, parked nearby. Cars were coming in for the next show, so they took our space as we pulled out and left. We saw this show 2 years ago at a venue in St. Petersburg. We paid for parking. Parking was free at MOSI. We sat in lawn chairs that were not comfortable, and our necks hurt after the show. The sound was not as full and crisp as MOSI, and the hole in the center of the dome above us was distracting and took away from the immersive experience. The MOSI Experience was almost double the cost, but everything about it was superior to the Pinellas County immersive event.

Some circus vehicles on exhibit outside. Should one seek to research carnivals, circuses, and other outdoor shows, there is a library & research area on the second floor. I purchased our tickets the day before so that we could skip the line. I was a little surprised to see the aquarium nestled in between the cruise dock and the downtown Tampa area. The aquarium itself has no parking, but there are a couple if garages right next door. The one I parked at was $20 a day. Even at 9am, the parking garage was nearly full to my suprise. I showed my ticket barcode to the attendant, they take a quick family photo (the cheapest one is $29) and we were in with no wait. The aquarium has many exhibits in a fairly small space. It was fairly comfortable for thr first 30 minutes we were there, but it quickly filled up. We went on Friday hoping to avoid crowds, but it didn't seem to help. We spent about 2 hours visiting all the animals and my girls even got to touch jellyfish ans stingrays. They have helpful employees that answer your questions and seemed happy to be there. The gift shop and food options are extremely expensive and are comparable to Disney prices. We saw everything we wanted to see and left by 1130am. Tickets were $45 and parking was $20. I feel it was a little pricey for 2 1/2 hours, but we had a good time.

Admission was $88 for one adult and one toddler, which felt a bit expensive for what was offered. We really enjoyed the coral reef exhibit and the large aquarium tanks. The octopus and jellyfish were definitely some of the most memorable animals, and my daughter absolutely loved the touch tank where she got to pet jellyfish. That ended up being one of her favorite parts of the visit Growing up in Florida and fishing most of my life, I'm already pretty familiar with much of the local marine life, so some of the exhibits weren't as exciting for me personally. However, my daughter had a wonderful time, which made the visit worthwhile. If you've visited before, be aware that a few things have changed. The outdoor penguin exhibit is gone, and the splash pad and playground have been replaced with a large turf area that has very little for kids to do outside. That was disappointing since those were some of the more unique family features. All of the animal exhibits are upstairs, while the downstairs consists mainly of the touch tank, gift shop, and restaurant. Overall, it's a smaller aquarium than what I remember from 10 years ago and we spent about an hour seeing everything at a comfortable pace. Overall, it's worth visiting once, but at the current admission price, I don't feel it offers enough value to visit regularly.
