My friend had 2 extra tickets so she invited me & hubs to join her & her husband with another couple on the Saturday night after Halloween. As I had never heard of this haunt, located at Grand Prix Fun Center, my expectations were low. And then seeing tents set up on the asphalt, with no *victims*, I was skeptical. But my hesitation was completely unfounded. The individual haunts were very dark, with plenty of hidden nooks for surprises. The actors at each tent were fully in-character, & the creepiness was non-stop. For me, the unexpected scares give the best adrenaline-rush thrills, and each of these haunts met that standard. Get Screaming is new to Grand Prix Fun Center (sounds like it was previously at the Florida State Fairgrounds), and staff told us they were very successful in this location this year. Our visit was on the last night of the season, after Halloween, so that explains the lack of other guests. My friend had bought our tickets through Groupon for $14 each, which I thought was a great value. Though I'm not sure what their regular admission price is, I definitely want to visit Get Screaming again next year!

Props are commercial actors are volunteers And you could expect to have to put some effort into psyching yourself out a little for real screen factor unless you scary. I recommend this haunt for 3 reasons it helps break the ice if you're a little uncertain about doing a haunted houses, or you scary easily it's a comfortable a/cdon't have to worry about getting dirty and then of course there's the really great charity purpose behind it which makes it probably the number one reason! What a sham. We thought this might be an exhibit in a Tampa museum but it was instead staged in…read moresome nondescript building near the Buccaneers' stadium. Most of the parking lot was off limits and people arriving had to work through a maze of turns in the hopes of getting close to the entrance--not clearly marked either. The usher seemed to have been trained just days earlier and separated people into "VIP" and "Normal" ticketholders. It turns out the difference is if you pay an addition $10 you can experience some room with a VR headset. We declined. The exhibit was lame and not worth the time getting there. Most of the exhibit consisted of large photographs depicting various rooms and such. You're basically told you an wander around on a self-guided tour, but when we got to what we thought was the last room, we exited into what looked like a storage area. Figuring that was wrong, we doubled back to the front desk to ask similarly poorly-trained gift shop personnel if we missed something. Turns out there was a white cloth draped over another exit--unmarked--and that is where you could up the passenger's name on a card you were handed when you walked in (and after dodging the obligatory green screen photography hustle). You could at that time pay $10 to do the VR, but we were so disappointed we just left. This is a highly-hyped cash grab and definitely not worth the 25 minutes it takes to see the exhibits. Avoid at all costs and go to Ybor City 15 minutes away and grab lunch or dinner.

For sure jumping in is hard when you are bare footed. You can easily get stuck under. It's like drowning, but a bunch of balls instead of water! The most fun or most difficult is trying to get out! I didn't expect to have so much fun in a ball pit... nor did I expect it to be so physically challenging! The first time I fell, I needed help to get back up, and just walking through the balls was hard! The *shore* with lounge chairs & umbrellas was a nice way to catch my breath. Due to my kids' work & college schedules, Sunday was really the best day for us to go together. I ordered our free tickets online several weeks before the multi-week event began, and 5pm 8/21 was the only slot still available for a group of 6... That's how popular this event was, sight unseen! Once I realized The Beach Tampa would be closing at 6pm on Sundays, I was concerned our time would be limited. However, worrying was not necessary. At the entrance outside, we queued up to enter precisely at our ticketed time. Then inside, we waited again as staff monitored the number of people inside the actual *beach* area for safety and enjoyment, allowing people to enter as others left. The line moved quickly at this point, but we still weren't able to go in until after 5:30. Luckily, staff had already announced to everyone that even the very last person to enter would get a minimum of 45 minutes to enjoy The Beach. I really hope The Beach returns to Tampa!

There are so many videos and hands on activities. They have a rope tying station, They have stations where you lift the flaps and you can learn more. When they talk about the orange groves you walk into a little building front. Inside they have more information. When you learn about the shipping industry you walk into a shipping crate and there is a little interactive video. When you learn about the ships that carried cargo they have a room you go into and they have a video. You choose what route you take on the monitor and then it tells you a story with live action about where you go into a room and they have a video presentation. Spoiler alert, there are pirate ships involved. It has multiple screens and you feel like you're in a Hollywood live action movie. This place is a must see for those history buffs and those that like to be entertained and enjoy interactive exhibits.

Our admission was free so I wasn't expecting much, but this museum has a lot to see and experience. We started at the 4th floor to see the pirate ship and worked our way down through the galleries. I really enjoyed learning about Tampa history as someone who is not from here at all and didn't know much. There are several interactive exhibits on each floor which I loved. My 7 and 8 year old had a great time and wanted to stay longer, but after 2 hours we had other obligations later that day. If you enjoy museums, I highly recommend visiting. Plus, there are ways to get free admission like checking out a pass from the library.

I LOVED this event!!!…read more My first exposure to Silent Disco was at the Gasparilla Music Festival two years ago. Unfortunately, we couldn't stay longer due to time constraints. I was beyond thrilled when I saw the event for Silent Disco posted on Facebook. Luckily, I am a member at the Tampa Museum of Art so I was able to receive $10 off of admission. For those unfamiliar with Silent Disco, each attendee receives a set of wireless headphones. There are several music stations you can choose from, designated by the color lit on your headphones. Tonight, there were three different kinds of music with three different DJs. Basically, you are dancing on your own to the music station you select. The best part is everyone is dancing in silence so to the ordinary bystander it looks peculiar. The Tampa Museum of Art was the perfect place to hold this event. The dance floor was not overcrowded at all. However, it did get hot, so many of us were able to go outside of the museum and dance. The fall weather made a rare Florida appearance tonight, which made for perfect dancing weather outside. The Pig Jig event was being held in the adjacent Curtis Hixon Park, and its attendees were giving us strange looks. Some of the festival-goers came over to ask what was going on and were taking pictures. It was funny to see some of their expressions. Silent Disco was such a blast! I had such an amazing time that when I looked at my watch, the hours had flown by and the event was almost over. I will definitely be attending Silent Disco in the future. Check it out if you want to do something different. You'll be glad you did.

We found this drive-in after googling drive-in's near us - this location is about an hour from us,…read morebut worth the drive for sure. We grew up with a drive-in in our town and we loved it as kids, so we wanted to take our kids, this was their first drive-in movie experience and it didn't disappoint. Toy Story 5 was playing, they recommend showing up an hour early on their website, we arrived at 8pm and found a spot easily, but it's definitely a good idea to show up early because it was already packed with cars when we showed up. You also need a radio, preferably battery operated, so you can tune into the station (I believe it was 89.3) and listen to the movie - unless you want to leave your car running the entire time and use your car radio. We decided to sit in the back of my husband's truck, which was a vibe - just make sure you check the weather so you don't end up getting rained on and also recommend bringing some bug spray because there are lots of mosquitos that will pester you if you don't have something to keep them away. We will be back for a family movie night, this is such a fun family experience - I wish there were more drive-ins around still but they're few and far between unfortunately.

Why 5 Stars? Great Organized event, fun family times, fun circus acts and stepping back in time…read morewhere clowns weren't creepy but fun to be around. My wife, my son and I stopped in to the Egypt Shriners Festival on the last day of the event and had a blast. We both reminisce about how this was what we grew up with. Small town like circus with those 'thrill' rides that a carnival brings. No frills, just fun spin around type rides. I still didn't trust the ferris wheel though enough to ride it! Overall it's like stepping back in time in a good way. We started the event by visiting the petting zoo. They had several things like goats, weird looking cows and a zebra or two. The highlight had to be feeding the Giraffe which is my son's favorite animal. After the petting zoo, we went on to see the circus acts. It was a full 3-4 hour extravaganza of various tight wire acts, daredevil skills and dancing. At the intermission the kids were allowed to take pictures and get autographs from the Shriner clowns. Carnival food by the Shriners was also good and reasonably priced. We did a couple of things that we shouldn't eat like deep fried oreos, and yum! We also tried a hamburger and fries. Typical on point carnival food served by friendly people. Most of the people working the circus (like the shriners) are most likely all volunteers. Everyone was so nice and it was good to be a part of something that gives back to the local community. We may have to start making this an annual family Tampa tradition.

The Shriners do a great job of dressing up as clowns, signing autographs and making the kids laugh between acts. We also bought tickets for the rides and the kids had a ball. Ride Tickets and games are cash only. Circus tickets are $20 adults and $10 children. I was happy to support this event as our local Shriners do so much for our community. There's one more circus performance tonight at 7:30. There are a few tomorrow (Sunday 4/17/2016) at 1:30 and 4:30. For $2, kids can buy a program/coloring book with the clowns trading cards in it and an entry to win a bike. Our friend won one, which was great!
