Mesmerizing and spellbinding. I still find myself awestruck several hours later after visiting the Imagine Museum on whim as we passed through the area. I'm sure there are plenty more words in the local vernacular that can describe the incredibly gorgeous the works of art displayed at the Imagine Museum. There is a bit of a mystique to the museum upon approach - the subtle blue facade of the building gives it a bit of a playful aura, while appealing to the eye as it contrasts with the surrounding structures and roads. The venue has its own dedicated parking lot, with street parking available off Central Ave; you can enter the lot from 20th and 19th Streets, with one way entry from 1st Avenue. There are two entrances on either side of the building on the first floor and leads you into the admissions kiosk and gift shop respectively before you begin to see any of the galleries. Imagine Museum is incredibly community friendly and extremely price conscious. There are plenty of deals and opportunities that you can jump on when visiting the venue. There are also a calendar that sheds insights to events hosted by the museum. Entering the gallery area, we were greeted by a curator who did a great job at welcoming us as first-timers to the museum. It made the visit feel a bit more personal and inviting. Additionally, we were treated to a scavenger hunt game which made our visit with our kids even more fun; any bit of hesitation or doubts that our young children would be instantly bored was alleviated. Almost immediately, we were captivated by the various pieces and displays as we walked the different galleries. My descriptions simply will not do any justice in terms of the stunning art that you can see here. The variety and the flow of the various themes is so expertly detailed and organized with precision. The last time I felt so amazed by glass and crystal was at the Swarovski Museum in Innsbruck, Austria. Needless to say, Imagine Museum is a great showcase of art in general, and an inspiration across generations and dimensions. The venue is a great steward of art. The Imagine Museum is simply a must visit - it is truly a rose in a concrete jungle. Visited the Imagine Museum this past weekend for the second time. Since it was International Museum Day, It was Free. Normal price is $15, but on Sunday mornings from 10-12 and after 5 pm on Thursdays it is $5. There's often events and Friday night markets here. The Imagine Museum is quite beautiful and informative. I feel like many areas of interest can be covered here including art, art history, social sciences, and political science. I love that the art here is physical and can also be viewed in many perspectives. This is also a great place to escape the heat when visiting St. Pete. There's not many places you can do that besides restaurants and shopping. From visiting you will see there's a great feel and look here. I would say walking around and seeing all of these displays/art installations here would take about 1-3 hours. They also have a free parking lot. read more

What an amazing place. I would rank this among the top if not the best museum I have ever visited and I have been to many including all all the New York City museums and major museums in Italy , Greece and England. I stopped by on my last day in town before heading to the airport. The outside of the building does not even come close to suggesting how amazing and huge the exhibits are inside. The exhibits are on 2 floors and include pieces made with a range of glass techniques including hot sculpting, casting, blown glass, and flame work. I spent almost 2 hours here enjoying myself. I loved that they invited adults to do the scavenger hunt too; seriously, channel your inner child and say yes to this. It is fun hunting for the little glass animals and you get a certificate if you find them all! There is free parking in a lot behind the museum. What a super museum, if you love the great Chichuli Museum, you'll love the I M. This museum of almost all glass pieces, with some metal components and other components is a wonder to behold, When we entered, one of the museum's docents explained to my 6yo granddaughter that there was a scavenger hunt in first floor rooms, and that she had to find the location of nine little objects hidden around the beautiful glass exhibits, she was also given a cheat sheet with hints of the location of the the hidden treasures, she was told not the remove the objects but to put one of the provided stickers on the sheet. We all marveled at the beautiful creative pieces on the two floors that houses the museum exhibits and loved exploring the different artists techniques. read more

I visited the Imagine Museum last weekend and loved my time here. It's located right off Central Avenue. We came in on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. The tickets are reasonably priced. They also offer educator and first responder discounts. I loved all the exhibits. The tickets were fairly priced for the size of the museum. It features two floors of a variety of glass art. I checked out Imagine Museum today for the first time, and I was blown away by the incredible glasswork and endless creativity here. When you arrive, you are greeted by a sweet docent who runs you through the rules and introduces you to a scavenger hunt to play along the way. Her passion is as clear as her helpful directions. Once you enter the first gallery, if you're anything like me, you'll be amazed by the breathtaking glasswork kimonos created by Karen Lamonte in her 'Floating World' series. How she gets those intricate folds of fabric to appear so soft and delicate in their glass medium, I'll never know. I came primarily to see the local art of my sweet friend, Monica Guerrero, included in the exhibit for Graphic Worlds: Exploring Comic and Anime Art. Showcased alongside other colorful and creative art, this was a fun exhibit and I couldn't be prouder of her work! Other artists whose work caught my eye along the way were glass sculptures by John Kiley, 'Unseen Worlds' by Louis Markoya, and the works of Martin Blank. But the standout was definitely 'Porto Icosahedron' by Anthony James, a mesmerizing matrix of reflections and glowing LEDs. I could have looked at it for hours, as it felt neverending. One other space that felt this way, as if I could spend all day amongst the wonder of glass and light, was the room housing 1000 Prayers for Compassion, created by the founder of the museum, Trish Duggan. Neon lights illuminate 1,000 glass heads of the goddess of compassion, and as you sit in this space, your body calms, your mind eases and you truly find zen. I could have stayed in there all day. All in all, Imagine Museum surprised me from the moment I stepped inside, and I recommend it to all. Now, more than ever, we need to support the arts and the amazing world that creativity unlocks. read more

Love our experience here! We were staying nearby, walking distance, so we had to give it a shot and come by. It also helped that they had an active group deal! Even without the Groupon deal it is a relatively affordable experience. The staff are so nice and friendly. Art pieces left me in awe. Loveee the interactive scavenger hunt on the second floor. It made the experience fun! Definitely recommend making an appointment to have a guided tour. Very cool museum in downtown St Petersburg. I went during the free museum day, you have to register and get a pass. The art exhibit was glass art and it was all so beautiful. With the free museum day was only able to see the bottom floor but still worth it. They have very friendly and knowledgeable staff. We enjoyed the experience with the exception of the trivia part being about the squid games show- since this was a family event - the kids can't actually watch squid games- so of course they didn't know details about the characters etc. otherwise the actual museum is beautiful and all of the other aspects of the game were great and truly family friendly-loved the scavenger hunt around the museum! read more

Welcoming staff who are enthusiastic about the museum and its content. Spectacular new exhibits featuring the work of Louis Markoya, protege of Salvador Dali. The artwork exploring the third dimension is mind blowing. The art pieces are quite pretty, but there are some very clearly stated political views on display, from the anti-abortion piece of babies on rocks to the J K Rowling featured as a heroine of today's age to the multiple pieces decrying the use of medications for mental and physical health. I would have given a 5 star was it not for the entrance and Judy. During our visit there was a special event going on. The music and the people were so loud in the front hall we didn't understand the lady who sold the tickets at all. May be for that reason they needed a lady down the hall to explain some rules. It would have been a help if she was not so obnoxious and rude. Judy has to know to stop when guests want to be left alone. Judy doesn't send someone else after the guests if they want to be left alone! read more

So cool! I went to the Imagine Museum last week with my parents and we all loved it. There were so many amazing things to look at and admire. The museum has a ton of amazing glass art to look at, in styles I'd never heard of before. My mind was blown. I took so many pictures, and I keep going back and remembering my visit. I confess that as an adult, even with the number of signs that say not to touch, I really wanted to touch a bunch of the work. That said, I would not take children here. The temptation would be too much. They've got a very nice gift shop, with a very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Everyone working at the museum was smiling and nice. The visit was a real pleasure. This is just west of the Chihuly Museum and it has a parking lot, which is almost a must on Central Avenue. It's an eclectic collection of rotating exhibits. Big and small, industrial and artistic, the variety and thought put into the exhibits is outstanding. I highly encourage everyone to make this a stop. The gift shop is interesting too. read more

Three of us went to their special event, Sunset Market on Fri. nite. They had live music, a vendor market place outside and Food trucks. There was also a glass blowing demonstration. The best part was the museum itself, all matter of glass art. From ancient cultures, early techniques, sculptures, modern Japanese glass and current day innovations. They had a scavenger hunt thru the 2nd floor exhibit rooms. There is a lovely gift shop and a cafe on the first floor along with 9 galleries. The second floor has 12 galleries. There is a small elevator to travel to the floors. There are large clean restrooms on each floor and water fountains. The free parking lot is in the back of the building with an entry door to the museum. If you park at the metered spots on the street you'll have 2 hours of parking. The docents and volunteers were very helpful and friendly. We got our free museum passes from the Pinellas Public Libraries. Each pass is good for 2 adults and 2 children. They have special programs Central Ave where the museum is located has many great restaurants. We are planning to go again soon. read more

We had an unusually cool day during our recent St. Pete trip that forced us to choose something aside from beach time. I'm a fan of glass design because I've seen first-hand how hard it is to create. I've also created blown glass and can't even begin to understand how most of the artists in this museum create the work they've made. Unlike many museums, this one is filled with a great deal of content and a vast variance of displays. I didn't expect half of what I saw here and was really amazed at the different types of glass art on display. There are two floors of exploring to do, the combination of which will keep you busy for at least an hour.
