I'm teetering between 3 and 4 stars for this salon. When I first came to this shop, I wasn't greeted by anyone. The second time I was. It would be nice to say hello to everyone that walks through the door :-). Anywho I love the way my hair comes out. I forget the name of the stylist but she's an older woman who sits and the booth farthest from the right. The prices here are fair. I don't think I have ever spent more that 55 dollars for a relaxer. My hair was a disaster and I needed to washed when I got home. The price for wash and set without anything else is unbelievable $$$$$90 dollars. If they at least do a good job but it was terrible. So I went here for a wash/blow flat iron and curl . I was a walk in and came based on the reviews . The service was quick and she did a pretty good job, however the hair spray she used to hold my curls left my hair sticky and hard and then the curls fell by that night . However, my main concern was the price. The cost was $108! Madness ! I paid it but never on my life have I paid this for my hair without a major service included (trim/cut/color etc) The following week I went up the street to the Dominican hair place and paid 50 for the same service and they actually did a better job. read more

After the wash I sat for 20 mins. Before my hair was rolled. Then, I was put under the dry for 1 hr and 30min. even doe I was dry within 45mins. After being dried. I sat for almost 40 mins. Before she asked me can her unlicensed son press my hair. I pay 30 dollars and walked out. very unprofessional and they very races. she wanted to charge me 125.00 for a wash and roller set. Going to this salon was so refreshing! Everyone was professional and made me feel welcome. The women were very knowledgeable about dealing with my curls and pressed them out till I looked like I woke up with straight hair!! My hair was so straight and soft and silky. I might come back again!! A bit more on the expensive side, for a very short curly fro like my mine the silk press was $75. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I had an appointment with Connie and asked to get my hair washed, blow-dried, and straightened. She told me that my hair was dry and that I should try a leave-in conditioner, so I said sure. After a couple of days, I washed my hair and found balls of hair falling on the shower floor and my hair texture completely changed. I went in the salon with very thick curly hair. After I washed my hair after getting it done at this salon, I currently have thin, straight hair. I called Connie to find out what products she used in my hair, so I could figure out what went wrong only for her to tell me that SHE USED A RELAXER ON MY HAIR!!!! I have been tending to my natural curly hair for years now, only to have someone put a relaxer in my hair WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. The crazy thing is she clearly didn't put the relaxer on correctly because my hair has never fallen like this before. If you don't know or don't feel comfortable doing someone's hair DON'T DO IT, why would you go ahead and put a relaxer in my hair and tell me it's a deep conditioner. TERRIBLE!! I couldn't even give this place a 2 star! The experience was just horrible. I called the day before and asked if I could make an appointment, I was told that it was walk-ins only. I asked what the hours were, I was told that for Sundays it was 8:30am-12pm. I said ok thanks I'll be there tomorrow. I wake up early on Sunday and head over to the salon, I arrive at 9am sharp, I write my name down on the list. I was approached 30 mins later by one of the stylist asking me what I wanted done. I told her color and blow dry. She said ok, an assistant tells me to follow her that she will be applying my color. I noticed that there were only 2 stylists and about 11 women in the salon including myself. I said, well they must have a good system to have all of here so let me trust this business. My color sits the assistant washes my hair, (the assistant was a very nice sweet lady) then tells me just wait and you'll be next. Was I next, no I wasn't. Two other women were serviced before me, my this time the stylist walks over to me and tells me "You're next after her" (Mind you the client she was about to blow dry had very long hair") So half way through this wait I look at my phone and its 12:30pm. I told the assistant that I was not going to wait any longer if she could just charge me for the color so I could leave. The stylist starts asking me why I want to leave if she's almost done, I told her that I coolant wait anymore and I just wanted to leave. I have been here since 9am and its about to be 1 pm and I'm still waiting for a blow dry. She said ok I'm sorry and charged me the $40 for the color, I didn't mind paying the $40 however as a business owner myself I would of given a client like myself a discount for the inconvenience of the long wait and an incomplete service. I regret wasting my entire morning in a salon and ended up leaving unhappy and with undone hair! Tip for the business: Walk-ins are clearly not working because you just say yes to everyone that walks in the door and offer horrible service. A color and blow-dry shouldn't take over 4 hrs to complete. When you take a client service them and don't start on another person until you are done with them. It is a horrible experience and a client like myself will end up leaving very upset and unhappy and never come back. read more

The lady that did my hair did a pretty good job BUT the entire time she was doing my hair she was talking in Spanish with the other ladies. That was rude & very unprofessional. Great Experience! A Dominican Salon in Lauderhill/Broward is very hard to find but driving down University Blvd, you can't miss the flag. I stopped by early Wednesday morning to ask for prices and hours. $30 wash/set but they are open Thanksgiving day till 2:00. I arrive Thanksgiving day at 10 am and the $30.00 price tag includes wash/deep conditioning/set/blow dry & flat iron to seal the straightness in this FL humidity. I'm out by 12:00 and couldn't be happier with a fresh hair-do on Thanksgiving. The owner, forgot her name, mentioned she's open on Christmas Day at 5:00 am till noon. read more

This place is ok. I did my hair with Jinnette today she did fantastic job, but, her pricing makes no sense to me. I am natural have 3c curls and went in with my hair wash and set dry with rollers. So even though I'm natural my hair was pretty much straight when I walked in. She blew out the shape of the rollers and flat ironed it.... all in total of 30 mins. I know because I had texted my sister when she started and when I was done. She mentioned it was a little oily and I told her yes because I usually wear it natural with just use conditioner and I think I may have gone overboard with the leave-in. When I went to pay shes like "how much am I going to charge you and stayed thinking." Then she goes $40! In my head i'm like did she just make this number up I don't pay $40 at any salon when they wash -set and blow it?! So I said even though I didn't wash my hair? She goes yes cuz you're natural. This makes no sense since she never dealt with my hair in it's natural state. Then she said it's $20 for the blow dry and $20 for the flat iron. I was recommended to go to Tita's Hair Salon and wanted to write a fair review: 1) They are open 7 days a week, including late on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday until 10pm!!! Yes 10pm! Make sure to call and check. They even told me they will be open Christmas Eve at 7am! Great hours!! 2) The Hairdresser told me they are on the Perkas App. Get 4 hairdo's and your 5th one you get a free deep conditioner. 3) I have extremely frizzy, curly hair and they did a great job. Please see picture. 4) The review before where someone said "don't go to this place and expect them to be your Salon Bestie" is different from my experience. I had a consult prior to my hairdo and provided great tips, but I have never been into the "Beauty Salon Confessionals". When I asked them about the Yelp Review, they said to keep in mind most of the hairdressers speak Spanish only (which was not a problem for me). I brought my headphones and used the wifi next door to caught up on Hulu. 5) Yes, they are loud (again, ok by me). And Yes, they were eating and chatting. Being honest (glad I knew that prior to going as a 1st timer). My hair did take a long time (which is only reason I do not give it 5 stars) but in typical salon fashion, she had a client before me. I went here because I knew one of the ladies from another salon. Her name is Jinnette. She is very sweet and knows how to do style hair very well. My normal hair is extremely thick and now it has gotten pretty long as well. Just for perspective, it takes my other salon guy four hours to put Keratin in it. I came to her with a picture on pinterest that showed like a half set of cornrows and asked if she could do something like that on my hair. She said sure. It only took like thirty minutes or so, so i was pleased with that. Since cornrows generally need to be tight, you can only expect that it might hurt a bit as someone pulls the hair tight. Jinnette was very gentle. The cost was also very reasonable. I gave her almost half what it cost me, as a tip because I appreciated her work so much. She put the right products in my hair to make the braids stay and I am more than happy. She didn't overwhelm or soak my hair with products though. I would definitely recommend asking for her if you go to this salon. read more

I was excited when I first found this place because it was a Dominican salon. My first experience was horrible. I went in for a hair wash. The young lady that washed my hair didn't realize I spoke Spanish and started to talk bad about my hair to the other girl next to her. The girl next to her must have picked up I was latina and asked her, "Does she speak Spanish?" The remainder of the time they spent talking in Spanish about their "boyfriends". I moved from Philly to FL just recently and have been afraid to try any salon to get my hair straightened and Tita's "DOMINICAN" Salon proved why I was so scared. I didn't get the name of the woman who did my hair but she was an older woman and her salon chair is the last on the right when you walk in. When I tell you they need to take the "Dominican" out of their salon name because what Dominican doesn't know how to LAY YOUR EDGES! I asked for a middle part and when I tell you my roots look the same as when I walked in... I'm not kidding!! The roots along my hair line, SAME AS WHEN I CAME IN! Looked as if I just worked out and sweated my edges out.. What MAKES IT WORSE IS, SHE WANTED TO CHARGE ME $65!!!!! I mean I understand it's FL and prices might be higher but $65 compared to the $35 AMAZING job I would have got in Philly is VERY DISAPPOINTING! I feel like I was gagged and WILL NEVER RETURN FOR SERVICE! This is probably the worst experience I've had at a salon. I never write reviews but here's a tip...This place is full women who talks about their clients in Spanish right in their faces! You can never tell who speaks your language let alone who understands it. Then they charge according to their opinion of your appearance, as someone mentioned before maybe by the kind if car you're driving. I sat here for 3hrs and didn't get any bit of good customer service. They don't even greet you when you walk thru the door. Here's a tip for you at Titas: you're living in America and you need to treat others as you'd want to be treated. First and last time I will do my hair here. Very busy, very loud, but the price is right. The ladies in there a mix of a few who are friendly and a few who are rude and won't greet you when you walk in (which is, at minimum, expected of an establishment that claims to be professional, no?). But the prices are great so it's hard to complain. And if you walk them through exactly what style you want after your wash and condition, they'll get it done. I highly recommend this salon to anyone who is sick and tired of being over-charged at salons or by stylists who specialize in Black hair.
