This is a common practice that every stylist I've been to over the past several years is familiar with. Every time I would remind her to add it. Every time she would ask me what color she used previously. 3 times in a row this happened. I asked why she didn't keep records which is also a very common practice. 2 appointments ago she said she would start doing that. The last time I came in for a root touch up again she asked about the color. Luckily, I wrote the color number on a picture of my hair from a previous appointment because I had a feeling the promise of record keeping wouldn't be fulfilled. She then informed me that I was "lucky" that there was one application left of that color. I reminded her to add the Sweet 'n Low. As she put the color in, she sang non stop in my ear, every single song that played over the speakers. It was beyond irritating. I was there to relax and receive a service. Not be serenaded. After the color was applied, my scalp started itching and burning. I got up to go look for her, found her with her face in her phone and asked if she remembered to put the Sweet 'n Low in. She said she did. Pretty sure that wasn't true as this dye never gave me a reaction before. I spent 2 weeks with blisters and itching on my scalp. After the 3rd week the color faded so much that I had to spend another $200 at a different salon to fix this mess. I'm fairly certain that she used the wrong color because they were out of what she used previously. Needless to say they've lost my business forever.

My hair took longer than management expected and even when they asked her multiple times if she would be done so she could take another client she didn't start rushing to finish my hair which I appreciate. It's horrible feeling when you try to get a service and they rush you out just to get another client done. I will suggest that maybe there be an option for clients to choose a longer appointment time especially for those of us who have longer and thicker hair. When I learned that there are people who know how to cut curly hair, I looked for someone in this field and found someone in my area. I was incredibly fortunate that I found Christina, who somehow sees my mess of hair as a potential cascade of curls. She really sees my hair in its best light - before it's cut!!! Now, I just wet my hair and I see ringlets everywhere. I never got a haircut that lets my hair's natural curl easily do its thing!
