I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Tita's Tailoring. If it were possible to give zero stars, I would. I brought in three items (a scarf, a sweatshirt, and a pair of pajamas) to be embroidered for my honeymoon. I was very specific about the details--monogram placement, font, and even requested that my name be done in all lowercase. Unfortunately, every item was done incorrectly. The monogram on the scarf was placed upside down (so when worn, it read incorrectly), and both the sweatshirt and pajamas were embroidered in the wrong font and not in lowercase as requested. When I brought this to their attention, I was told the original items could not be corrected and would need to be replaced and re-embroidered. To their credit, they agreed to repurchase the items. However, when I returned to pick them up, none of the items had been embroidered at all--and the pajamas provided were not even the correct pair. At that point, I requested a refund for the embroidery services I never received. I was told the employee present was unable to process a refund. I had to insist on getting something in writing stating that I would be refunded, but I have little confidence this will actually happen. I've since filed a dispute with my bank. Between the repeated errors, lack of attention to detail, and inability to resolve the issue properly, this was an incredibly frustrating experience--especially given that these items were meant for a special occasion. I would not recommend this business based on my experience. The level of inaccuracy and lack of follow-through here is simply unacceptable. read more

I've debated writing this review for quite some time, as I truly love supporting local businesses and believe even if mistakes are made they are human and deserve second chances. I reached out via Yelp to schedule my wedding dress alterations in advance of my wedding date last September. The day I showed up I wasn't told in advance I needed heels and was told we couldn't proceed even though heels were actually available for this purpose, and nobody told me. The owner did reach out to me to come back and I had to reschedule for another two weeks later as I was already home at that point. I came back to set up alterations confirming that the hem would come up 3 inches to accommodate heels and for it to fit comfortably I would have to lose about 10 pounds. This was no issue. When I came back to try it on I'm not sure why (as it was never explained to me), but the straps were shortened in such a way as you can see in my photos that my breasts had no support and were flattened or the material moved depending on angle of photo. Not happy. They put in a zipper for the buttons which I was grateful for. I had several weeks prior to the day I needed to pick up scheduled as our wedding was out of state. When I showed up, it was not ready, not pressed and I had to wait while they finished. I'm glad I double checked it on my way out or I would've left the state without a dress that was done as I asked for a bustle that was not on the dress, even though I had asked for it and paid for everything in advance at the last appointment. I am not a picky person or hard to deal with when it comes to brides. We had a simple elopement and were very flexible with changes as they came. I find it beyond frustrating that for such a big event, and given the other amazing reviews (which is why I picked this business), that I had nothing but issues. The pricing was great, but Tim seemed to be the only person on the same page as me. This seems like a family business, so I was really bummed this didn't work out. As you can see in my photos, the stomach portion was still loose (with the ripples) and could've been taken in to fit more appropriately. The straps shouldn't have been taken done without the bra area being adjusted to support me. It's so hard to look at my wedding photos because the lack of care to my dress is so evident. The day of my elopement the bustle broke and a button came off of the zippered area. For this reason, unfortunately I would not return or recommend. I brought my mother of the Bride Dress to Tita's for alterations. When I came back for my scheduled appointment to pick up 3 weeks later, no work had even been started on my dress. Titas rescheduled me for a 2nd appointment to pick up my dress. Again, when I arrived, no work had been done on my dress. When the alterations were finally completed by the 3rd pick up date, I was deeply disappointed by the poor workmanship and lack of attention to detail. This caused me significant stress, especially as the event date was fast approaching and I relied on these alterations being finished properly and on time. Below is a summary of the specific problems I encountered. Strap and Armhole Adjustments The dress straps required shortening, and though they were pulled up, the armhole was not adjusted accordingly. This resulted in the dress feeling tight, uncomfortable, and ill-fitting. Seam Work and Bulk The seams were left untrimmed, causing unnecessary bulk that became visible on the outside. On one seam, the untrimmed fabric was folded into the seam and sewn over. Back Alterations Instead of properly taking in the back of the dress by about an inch, a second hook was simply added. This shortcut created a noticeable bulge in the back. Bra Cup Replacement The most problematic alteration involved the built-in bra cups of the dress. I requested that the original cups, which were sewn between the dress and lining, be replaced with more supportive ones. However, the cups were merely removed from between the layers and beige bra cups were tacked onto the inside lining, not between the lining and the dress as they should have been. The cups were uneven, and the neckline did not lay flat on the chest where the extra hook was placed. The beige cup was visible through the dark navy-blue dress, with navy thread showing on the cup itself. Personal Perspective My late mother was a top seamstress specializing in wedding gowns and formal wear in Rhode Island. While I do not share the same level of expertise, I am well aware when alterations are performed correctly. i tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but this is the second pair of pants that were tailored improperly. i was told that if i wanted them done the right way, they would have to charge me $25 dollars on top of the $25 dollars that i was going to pay. Rididiculous! if you cant do them correctly the 1st time, why would I go for another $25? i told them to keep the pants, because clearly they ruined them. read more

I have a leather coat, I needed cleaned. So I found Tita's back in mid September. I got a quote request via Yelp. The most affordable quote I've gotten on the coat, $40. So I brought it down to their shop that weekend and dropped it off with them. I was told to come back on October 1st. They didn't say how much the actual quote was. But when I left the shop I saw the price was double on the ticket! I went back inside and asked why it was $80 when I was quoted $40 and showed them the conversation. According to Tita's: "the quote for leather starts at $40, but it varies by the size and weight of the coat." Okay. You couldn't have mentioned that before charging me $80? So on September 30th, I called to check on the status of the leather jacket. I was then told to come on the 7th of October instead of the first like I had been originally told. Great... the 7th, a Monday. I call them during my lunch break and ask if the jacket is ready. They said come after 2:30 in a very unsure manner... I work in MA until 4:30, and they close at 6:00 (I was originally told they close at 6:30 too.) I got there at 5:50 PM. The woman behind the counter was searching her inventory for the jacket but couldn't find it. Then she told me they were supposed to tell me to come on TUESDAY! I am not doing this over and over again. Wasting gas over being bullshitted to. I decided I don't need the coat right away so I'll come back on Saturday. When I show up on Saturday. Again they can't find the coat! So the woman starts talking to her coworker about my missing jacket. Then she calls the employee who assisted me when I was there the other day. I waited a while, but the person running the counter handed her cell phone to me and had me speak with the original employee. She informed me that my coat is cleaned but not dry enough to polish yet. However , it's not at this location but their other location in Cranston. WTF. The original employee told me to leave my address with them and they will call me and drop it off at my house sometime Wednesday or Thursday. I wrote my address down on a post it and left. They took my ticket and didn't hand it back. I didn't think to ask either. My fault. Wednesday and Thursday went, they did not call me or drop anything off at my house. I am absolutely not paying them a dime until I actually receive this coat. Today, finally on Friday. I got a text from them saying the coat was ready. I picked it up after work. I was charged $91!!! NINETY ONE F***ING DOLLARS opposed to the $80 I was given. Actually was supposed to be $40. Not even a discount for all the shenanigans I went through over those past weeks. I asked, they didn't really understand. It's whatever. I finally got the coat back. I am never coming back to this place again. They are an absolute rip off! I fully understand that leather takes a long time to clean and can be very costly. I also understand being swamped in your work. The employees are nice, but Jesus Christ! Don't give an exact date if you have absolutely no idea what you're doing. TL;DR - this place will overcharge you and give you incorrect pickup times. They change their minds on how much things cost and when your items will be ready. This location in particular is extra disorganized. Can't speak of the other location. Find some place else to take your dry cleaning and tailoring. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid! read more

If I could rate 0 stars I would! I made a Yelp account just for this. I needed pants hemmed and a new button up dry cleaned for a graduation. Dropped off and was told it would be ready in 10 days on a Monday. Monday comes and they claim it'll be ready Tuesday. Was on vacation so this wasn't an issue and could pick up on Friday, to which the owner claimed it would be ready. I arrive to find my pants hemmed well but my shirt was not in store. Although unfortunate, I was okay with their next promise of a 3pm arrival the same day. However, when I arrived at 3:30pm, I was told my shirt was still not ready. The owner claimed my shirt was stained, even though I brought it in brand new. At this point, I expressed my dissatisfaction with the poor communication on their part, to which the owner rudely claimed that I was the one being inconsiderate of their business operations. This was already enough of a red flag, but again I fell for their promise of a delivery at my home address later that same day. Despite having several errands to run to prepare for my graduation weekend, I had to stay home for my shirt that they claimed they had and were just waiting for a delivery driver to bring in. Come to find out I was waiting around for no reason because they text (after the agreed upon time frame of delivery) that they cannot find my shirt! Had I known of this from the jump, i could've made arrangements to buy another shirt last minute. However, the complete lack of transparency and flat out lying has made this into an unnecessarily stressful process. Now, with guests arriving and a busy weekend ahead of me, I have to worry about replacing my shirt that was "stained" and "lost". After expressing my disappointment with the service and the lies I was told, the owner again proceeded to spin the story to absolve themselves of any blame as this is just the "cost of business". The owner was rude, unprofessional, a liar, unapologetic, and made no effort to communicate the real situation. Let me start off by saying this business shouldn't be up and running. I had an absolutely terrible experience with them. I brought my wedding gown in August before my wedding in September. All I needed was for it to be hemmed on the bottom and bustled in the back of my dress I had a dress fitting for me to go back on a Friday mind you this was a scheduled time and day for me to go for a fitting. I go to my fitting with some of my family members to come to find out that my dress wasn't even touched nor even ready , They finally took out my wedding gown from the back, rushed it by cutting the bottom of my dress Ripping it into pieces as shown in pictures the woman who supposedly is the owner at the shop told me to get my dress and go somewhere else and refused to put my laces back on my dress and told me to go somewhere else. I have evidence and videos and more pictures on what they did to my wedding gown completely ruined the bottom of my dress. I also had my parents dress and my dad suit as they paid $175 to get their suit and dress fixed and it wasn't even touched and they still got charged for the work that they didn't even do and let me add as they held my dress hostage. They told me that I had to pay 225 for the cut that they made on the bottom of my dress Mind. You didn't even put the laces on but still wanted me to get charged $225 for my wedding dress that they ruined never again... as the stress they put me threw this situation on how my dress is ruined I had to buy a new one ! Absolutely HORRIBLE experience with this company. Over the summer, I brought a floor length, plain black, no lining dress to this company to be hemmed. I wanted to take only an inch off the bottom. I tried the dress on, got the measurement marks put on the bottom and went to go ring out. When the woman rang out my ticket, the computer stated $115 for the cost. I asked the woman behind the counter why the cost was so expensive when the dress is so cheap, and I am only taking an inch of the bottom. She explains that the computer is wrong and the price will only be $15 instead of $115. Confused by this response, I accept the ticket and leave. When I go to pick up the dress, I cash out and I was only charged $15 like the woman previously explained. This was great, I left and had no issues with the dress. Two months later (last week) I bring in two floor length dresses, one brown, one blue, both velvet material, one has lining one does not. I am greeted by the same woman as last time. I asked her "Can we do the same thing we did the last time I was here and take an inch off the bottom for both? Also, is the material going to be an issue?" She responded "No issues with the material, we can do exactly what we did the last time" I go through the same process and cash out. The ticket states $145, however, being there 2 months prior with the same girl, I assumed this was the same issue as before. A week and a half later, I pick up the two dresses. A different employee explains to me that I owe $145 for the dresses. Naturally, I am SHOCKED. I asked "Why is it $145? The woman I worked with before told me the computer doesn't ring up tickets properly so I was under the impression it would be $45." He told me to wait 5 minutes for the owner to arrive. The owner arrives, who is not the woman I have worked with in the past. I explained to her the situation and even showed her my bank statement from the last time and show her that I only paid $15. She begins to raise her voice at me and tells me that the material of the dress causes it to be more expensive. I had told her that I was not informed of an extra cost for the material of the dresses and I specifically asked about the material. I told the woman that the additional costs should have been disclosed to me at the time of the visit because I would have never agreed to it and would have not had the service completed. She proceeds to raise her voice at me and asks me if I still have the dress they worked on the first time and for me to go home and get it and bring it back to their store. I said "Absolutely not, but I can show you a picture of it online." She continues to get loud and explains to me that she is not going to help me and that I can wait for her daughter to arrive at 3pm and work it out with her. I explained to the woman that I cannot do that because I have to catch a flight this afternoon. She then proceeds to yank my two dresses off the rack and aggressively shoves them at me and said "Then you can go". Absolutely mortified at what was happening, I walk out. She then follows me to the window and TAKES A PICTURE OF ME AND MY CAR. I will NEVER return to this establishment again. I cannot believe how unprofessional the "OWNER" of the business was. Absolutely disgusting behavior and I will never bring my business there again. read more

The women who run this place are SO nice and they are experts in their craft! Process: I went in on a Wednesday (9/25) at 5:30PM to get a bridesmaid dress shortened and I was out of there before 6:00PM! 1.) Tell them what you need (they also make their own creative suggestions on how to fit the clothing item better on you!) 2.) Dressing rooms to change into article of clothing 3.) Go up on a platform for them to pin adjustments Pick-Up: I told them the wedding was the following Wednesday (10/2) and scheduled the pick-up the day before, Tuesday (10/1), but they called me that Friday (9/27) and told me my dress was ready! Very quick service and EXTREMELY friendly ladies working here. I won't go to any other tailors and would gladly make the half hour trek out here! Price: My total was $65 for dress hem and sewing snaps. $40 for the dress and I think the $25 for rush. Note: Credit card for alterations $10 (someone correct me if this amount is wrong!) and above. This place is a little difficult to find/get into since the streets surrounding it are busy. You can get in from the Popeye's parking lot. read more

Using various drycleaners for over 30 years and never had a problem. First time using this one and they claimed my black suit jacket had a stain and that is why it wasn't cleaned after two weeks. When I complained, I was told I could pick it up that day after 3. How did it get resolved from 8am to 3pm? I got it returned, but will never trust them with my clothes again! Had the worst experience here. Dropped my dress off on a Monday for my baby shower Saturday, I picked it up Tuesday and it wasn't as much material off as I asked for (I ordered this dress oversized to fit my belly but the breast area had way too much material for my chest size) I dropped it off again Wednesday and they told me it would be ready Friday. I came back Friday and they told me it wasn't done yet because she said "if I take that off this will be too open on the boobs" although that's what I asked for? I don't have a big cup size to begin with and they never called me or emailed me to confirm or get my opinion and took it upon themselves not to even though my baby shower was Saturday. I tried on the dress again to show her and with attitude she said "are you sure you want it like that?" In a shameful way. I felt very uncomfortable and frustrated not receiving what I paid for. Went to this shop because it is right around the corner from me, after my long time friend and expert tailor in Providence passed away. It was a simple cuff on a pair of slacks.... oops. what should have been a simple fold under and fold up again and sew, turned into a "fake cuff" with length too short...and resulted in a job that could not be fixed. As a remedy, another tailor had to take it apart, and because of the damage, could not put a cuff on the pants. Don't really understand how this could happen in such a simple job. but I'm glad the pants were at lease salvaged, albeit with no cuff. Since these are suit separates, I may buy another pair of pants, and have them cuffed properly. read more
