He explained to us the qualities of various types of vinyl plank flooring. We chose the "Palm Beach" pattern vinyl planks. Before the planks would be put on, Tony explained, an "underlayment" pad would be put on the bare concrete floor. He talked about the issues of moisture in the concrete pad and the ways to defeat its effects. He was knowledgeable. He talked about the qualities of the materials he could install. We liked the thoroughness of his explanations. He was able to come out to the house that same day to measure. On Monday, he gave us a very good bid and we accepted. The next day, installer Juan Jimenez came to our house on time. He was professional and worked hard. He did a great job of re-installing the baseboards over the vinyl planks. He took great care with our house and his products. Juan stayed for about 3 hours, tidying up as he worked. He was focused and pleasant. Within an hour of the completion of the job, Tony Rossi called us to make sure we were happy with the installation. We definitely were. I would highly recommend Tony Rossi and Flooring 101 in Goleta for the good product, great communication, great price and fine installation. Five stars. By the way, part of the reason I chose Flooring 101 was because it already had excellent Yelp recommendations. We found them true.

Ummm, okay. "Your business owner" is who sent me the direct text. He responded with an ooops that "his girl" sent the wrong proposal and by the way your proposal is an additional $9,000). Sorry! My "girl" mixed you up with your neighbor and by the way how do I contact your neighbor so I can send their quote? WHAT? Who refers to an employee as "my girl"? What day and age is this, exactly Len's???? My proposal then tripled after I asked to have the job scheduled. TRIPLED! With NO explanation other "ooops, sorry...my girl" Gave the business another chance after tripling the original quote. Dropped the ball AGAIN and had to follow up a third time to get them engaged and suddenly the sales rep is "on vacation" and will get back to me. That was another two weeks with NO proactive or reactive communication and then they stated "not us, the flooring sales rep". Yet ANOTHER inability to communicate. I wish them luck. As an extra bonus, John is a general contractor and we ended up hiring him to paint the interior/exterior of our home and do some electrical work. There were a few setbacks with painting and electrical, however, it happens with a big project as a lot of different workers and trades are involved, but John would always own up to his or other people's mistake and make it right. It needed the sand REPLACED after the power washing washed it away. The labor men were just doing what they were told: power wash, seal and paint. Period.
