I had an excellent experience with the entire team at TJ Hair Clinic. Alicia, Ari, Fabio--every single person involved--showed genuine care and attention from the very beginning of the process. I'm a San Diego resident (92109), and on the day of my procedure Fabio picked me up from my home right on time at 8:00 AM. About 45 minutes later we arrived at the clinic in Tijuana, where the team welcomed me immediately and began prepping for the procedure. I needed the larger package (P3), and we started close to 10:00 AM. Including an hour break, the transplant was completed around 6:00 PM. Throughout the night, the nurses were attentive--cleaning my scalp, replacing pads, and making sure I had everything I needed. They provided refreshments during the day, as well as lunch and dinner, and breakfast the next morning. The food was perfectly good and kept me comfortable throughout my stay. I traveled from the United States to TJ Hair Clinic in Tijuana after being clearly told and agreeing in writing to a specific procedure (no-shave FUE + DHI). However, once I arrived, the procedure that was performed did not follow what was originally agreed upon. Changes were made without my informed consent, and the final treatment did not match what had been discussed and confirmed beforehand. This is not a matter of cosmetic dissatisfaction. My concern is that the procedure itself deviated from the agreed plan. This deviation was acknowledged in writing during my communication with the clinic. Following the procedure, I made multiple good-faith attempts over several weeks to resolve this matter directly. I requested clarification, accountability, and the names of the medical personnel involved, which were not fully provided. I also attempted to contact Dr. Fok and the treating physician directly but received no response. Despite these efforts, the clinic has refused to provide any resolution and has stated that they consider this matter closed. Due to the lack of resolution, I have filed formal complaints with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), PROFECO (Mexico's consumer protection agency), and COFEPRIS (Mexico's health regulatory authority). Hi, everyone! I wanted to share my experience with TJ Hair Clinic. I am a young female patient, who is not experiencing hair loss, rather I was just born with a high hairline. I wanted to share my insight as female hair transplants, for the purpose of lowering the hairline, is not something I would commonly see online. I considered doing a forehead reduction, but after seeing several women's results from hair transplant lowering, some of which were TJ Hair Clinic patients, I decided to opt for this option, as it looks more natural and is a less invasive procedure. I researched various clinics in Tijuana, and felt that TJ Hair Clinic did a good job at creating softer and rounder hairlines, which is essential for a feminine hairline.  From the moment I requested a quote, the case manager Ari was quick to respond to my questions and concerns. The doctor reviewed the images I sent in and provided a hairline drawing and a package quote. I emailed back that I wished to lower it a bit more, and attached my own image with my desired hairline level. This was reviewed and it was accepted. It was noted that the quote was still considered an estimate, as the number of follicles I would receive would depend on how much donor hair I was able to give. My surgery took place a month after the quote was provided. I live in San Diego so we chose to just drive in on our own. We arrived at the parking garage (which is very secure) and rode up the elevator straight to the clinic. The receptionist greeted us and I filled out some forms. Special thanks to Aldo, who assisted in the procedure. He came into my patient room (which has its own personal bathroom and shower and is only a few feet away from the reception desk) and gave me a thorough run down of what and how the procedure works, as well as aftercare. He answered all of our questions and was attentive when I described the hairline design I was aiming to achieve.  He then took me to get my blood drawn for testing and for PRP vials. I then met Alicia, who was the one to extract and insert the follicles. She was very nice and meticulously measured and designed my hairline. I asked her to lower it a tad bit and to make it a tad narrower too. She did just that, while keeping it still proportionate to the rest of my face. I was grinning ear to ear when she finished the final design. She then parted the back of my head and shaved the donor area. They then gave me a concoction of pills to support me through the procedure. I received a quick break and then it was time to begin the procedure. They first numbed me with local anesthetic and while it did hurt it, it was very much bearable and only lasted about 3 minutes. After that they began with the extraction, which was painless. I slept through most of it. They then gave me a lunch break and I opted for the sandwich, which was delicious. The second part of the procedure involved numbing and insertion of the hair follicles. The numbing hurt, but it was only a couple minutes of pain. I again slept through most of it. Thank you so much to Alicia; she did an amazing job! I have inserted some images the day of the surgery and the day after (where I am wearing a beige top and where I was already swollen). They then thoroughly explained the aftercare to me and answered any questions I had. They also let me know that in total they were able to extract and implant just under 4,500 hair follicles.  They then allowed me to rest in my room after the procedure and fed me dinner. The tacos and rice were really good, too.  Later that night, a night nurse came to hook me up to an IV for Vitamin C and something else that I can't remember. She gave me my first round of pills and explained how I would be taking them for the next three days. She also placed a red light therapy device above my head for 30 minutes to help stimulate hair growth. The following morning I was discharged and the clinic provided us with a medical pass, so we could cross back to the US in 15 minutes, instead of waiting for hours in the line of cars heading back to the US. Overall, the whole staff was super friendly and the ambiance was very welcoming and light-hearted. The facility was super clean and well run and the 24-hour care was very quick to arrive when requested.  I am currently a week post-op and the recovery is not that bad. I didnt swell too much, but I did have headaches and it feels like I have a really tight ponytail on. So not 100% pain free, which I expected, but it's tolerable. The meds they provide you with also help a lot wih the pain and inflammation. And each day it feels less and less uncomfortable.  I am very excited to see the final results in about 12-18 months and will be updating my progress, with you all, every couple of months! read more

Well, I finally got my hair restoration done Tuesday 12-16-2025 I'm home now on Wednesday and can't believe what an experience. Dr. Alicia Is such an artist at what she does and very sweet person. It would be at least five times more than what I paid. I recently had my first hair transplant appointment with the excellent team at TJ Hair Clinic. I live in San Diego, so the travel accommodations were next to nothing as I drove myself and partner to the appointment. My partner stayed overnight in the nearby hotel, Grand Hotel Tijuana, which is very nice in itself. Everyone spoke perfect English, from the in person consultation, to the procedure day, and even post care instructions, everything was forthcoming, instructions were clear and they were always available to answer questions electronically. I did my hair transplant surgery on March 16, 2024 and I really enjoyed the experience. It has been 2 weeks and I'm thrilled to be waiting for the final results. For a while, I'd been considering hair transplant surgery, but the costs in the US is too high. I basically decided to travel to San Diego and then Tijuana for the surgery just 10 days before my departure. The entire process from the initial consultation to the post-surgery follow-up, was smooth and professional. The staff was friendly and attentive, and they made sure I felt comfortable throughout. It was a little painful but OK. The surgery itself went well, and the doctor kept me informed every step of the way. 3 meals were provided (lunch and dinner for the first day, and breakfast for the second day). Well, it's a vulnerable process deciding to get a hair transplant; I've been thinking about doing it for years, but have found most places in the US are far too expensive, and don't want to travel to Turkey or Thailand in the event of complications, or needing to return for further care. After many months of research, I decided to get an FUE transplant at TJ Hair Clinic. I know what you're thinking: Tijuana sounds like a bad idea- I had the same initial concern- but the amount of positive feedback this place has garnered on all corners of the internet was persuasive. Reddit, Google, Yelp, YouTube and beyond-- all spoke highly of the professionalism, quality of care, and quality of results. And moreover, whilst it's towards the more expensive end of clinics in Mexico- it is significantly cheaper than anything available in the domestic United States. I paid $5800 for 5800 grafts-- was quoted $48,000 by middle range surgeon in Beverly Hills for 4000 grafts. The reason I'm writing this review, and I don't really bother write reviews on Yelp, is because my expectations were exceeded. Not only were the team communicative, effective and kind- but their professionalism and skill were outstanding. Like I said- it's a scary, vulnerable thing to do, especially in a foreign country-- but in practice, none of that became a concern. From booking the procedure to having it done, the communication was crystal clear, instructions were consistent, and the staff were kind and responsive. They also make it extremely efficient-- I met my driver in San Diego at 8am, parked my car overnight, and they drove me across the border and straight to the clinic. My consultation started at 915am on the dot, and once I agreed to the design and finalized payment, my procedure started at 11am. I was done by about 4pm. At every step of the way, the surgeon and his team were extremely communicative and careful- no language barrier, they answered every question to my satisfaction, and generally made me as comfortable and safe as possible- I really trusted them, and am thrilled with the results thus far. The clinic itself was impressive- clean, modern and felt like any high end/Cedars like outfit in the US. I had a private room and bathroom which was equally clean, private and modern. After the procedure, I stayed the night in my room (the first night is the worst- so uncomfortable to sleep upright)- and was fed three meals during my stay (lunch, dinner and breakfast the following morning). Whilst it's definitely hospital food, it was much more pleasant than what I've gotten in US hospitals- which was a nice surprise. The next morning, the medical team came in, changed my dressing, walked me through my medication protocol and post-op care, and by 8am, I was back in the car and being taken through the express medical lane back into San Diego. That border can be a nightmare- and the regular line was long - but the medical pass they have got me across in ten minutes flat; the entire journey was no longer than 25 minutes from clinic to car, including crossing the border. It truly could not have been easier or more seamless. Moreover, the drivers- Javier and Ramon- were so unbelievably friendly, chatty and made me feel very comfortable. All in all- I only had my procedure a few days ago, so I have a long way to go in terms of results, but the quality of the surgical work is very impressive. My grafts were placed with perfect density and micro-irregularities to ensure a natural hairline, and though the aftercare is a pain in the butt for the first week (it is no joke)-- I am thrilled with the results and look forward to seeing what comes of them. A lot of people will tell you that doing something like this in Mexico is a bad idea- perhaps there's a reason for that, perhaps they've watched too many movies. I'm glad I challenged my perception and went with TJ Clinic- I truly do not believe I would've gotten a better experience in the US, and certainly not for the price. From initial scheduling with Ari and Cristian to communication between scheduling and my appointment day, everything was first class. I drove from Orange County and parked on the San Diego side of the border (LAZ Parking). TJ Hair Clinic provided round-trip transportation in a 2024 Suburban Town & Country which was super clean. The driver, Martín, worked for the clinic and was very professional. Upon my arrival at the clinic, I was impressed with the quality of the modern and very clean facility. Procedure was on October 10th. I wanted to wait to see some results before posting a review. In summary everything was exactly the same as most reviewers; 5 stars. From my 1st email inquiry to an online meeting with Dr. Sergio, then the confirmed booking. I flew in from Calgary, Canada, 3.5-hour flight to San Diageo. Martin the driver was waiting and quick pick up in a newer white Suburban. Fast trip into Mexico with basically no border process; they let everyone drive through. LOL Stayed in the Grand Hotel that day and walked in the building to the office at 8 am. I won't detail every step of the procedure but just say it went smooth with everything explained by Dr. Sergio. After an easy night Martin picked me up at 9 am and drove back to the airport with the "medical pass" which helps get across the border quickly. I sprayed with water for about 3 weeks before working on removing my scabs. I took good care of my head and followed all of their instructions and even more. I am coming up on 4 weeks and so far, no shedding but I expect I will, based on everything I read. I am a fast healer, healthy lifestyle and almost 63 years old. I do work from home but have had online video meetings and one large group meeting at 2.5 weeks and the only comments I received were, "nice hair cut, it makes you look younger". After having my head shaved to the wood, it already looks good with growth of my donor and transplant areas. Very impressed so far including their follow up every two weeks, and if anything changes, I will be sure to update my review down the road. read more

First time in MX in over 10yrs and first hair transplant so I was a bit nervous. I started to relax when the driver Ramón picked me up in San Diego and was super nice and spoke perfect English. Also the entire team at the clinic spoke English and were very welcoming which helped take the edge off. I had a transplant a year ago and in the middle of the procedure one of the doctors had a family emergency and had to go and the tech did the best he could to give me a rebuilt hairline. It was a little thin after the period of regrowth. TJ Clinic did me a huge solid and performed a second transplant free of charge. I thought this was excellent customer service. For Americans, who may feel strange, going to Mexico due to geopolitical tensions and risk of violence. I can tell you this they will pick you up in San Diego in a tinted vehicle the process is seamless. You will be treated great. I set my appointment in October for Jan 15. From even before I sent a deposit they were very quick to respond to any and all questions I had. After sending the deposit the level of service remained consistent. The ensured that I received all instructions from arriving in San Diego (I live in Texas) to all day of and post op instructions. As part of the service, they send a driver to your hotel/airport in San Diego to transport you over the border. The day before my appointment I received an email that had a photo of my driver, the type of vehicle they would be in and the license plate number of the vehicle. The driver then contacted me to coordinate and verify time and location of pickup. Day of the driver showed up 5 minutes early but did not rush me at all. I arrived at a very clean suburban and driver dressed very professionally. It was a short drive to the facility where I was met upon arrival and taken to the office where the procedure would be. Once some quick paperwork was completed I was able to sit with the doctors, where they made sure I was happy with everything before being asked to complete payment to begin the procedure. The procedure went smoothly, and was very happy with the whole process. The return to the airport the next morning was just as seamless and the ride to the procedure. This is my second time doing this procedure, the previous time was in San Diego quite some years ago. I had my procedure on January 11, 2025. At the time of this review, I am about two weeks post-procedure, so it is too early to share pics or to describe the results. I will update the review in a few months with that. TJ Hair Clinic is top flight. I was referred by a coworker who went to TJ Hair Clinic and he had excellent results, which is why I went there. The initial contact via email and quotes were all timely and well explained. I was a little apprehensive about going to Tijuana. I had never been there before, so the only thing I knew about Tijuana was what I've read in the news. I never felt that I was in danger though. I did not leave the clinic during my time there though, so I cannot comment about the surrounding area because I stayed in the clinic. I was picked up by a driver at the San Diego airport. He was on time, courteous, and professional. The vehicle was also nice (a late model Suburban). Getting to TJ from the airport was easy. It took about 30 minutes. I was met by a TJ Hair Clinic employee outside the building when I was dropped off. That employee escorted me in to the clinic where I had to complete some additional paperwork. From there, I quickly met the doctor and began the procedure. Please know that the procedure took about 10 hours for me. It was pain free due to the drugs. I actually fell asleep for part of the procedure. You get meal breaks and bathroom breaks during the procedure. The food was so-so, but I wasn't there for the food, so I would not let that stop you from going. The clinic has hospital style rooms for its patients. It is a clean room with a hospital bed and a full bathroom. There are nurses on site 24 hours. You even have a call button if you need a nurse during the night (usually for pain meds, I suspect). I hit the button once and had immediate help, which was bringing me an extra blanket. The pain post-procedure is not bad. I stopped taking the pain meds two days after the procedure. It is early, but my hair is growing back. The scabs are gone, and I feel great! I will update this review with photos in a few months. read more

Five stars all the way. A procedure that two SF docs quoted me at over $12,000 was just $3500 here - and I am absolutely convinced I got better care. Plus my outcome was better than I even imagined - people don't believe me when I say I had a hair transplant - even barbers!! I had a team of five people plus the surgeon that were with me and ONLY me all day long. You have a dedicated translator that speaks perfect English that stays with you and only you all day, too. (Surgeon's English was just fine, btw). They send a car that picks you up at the San Diego airport and drives you back two days later. Seamless, no dealing with passport control people or customs at all, the driver does it. They put you up at a nice hotel that has a Casino on the ground floor, and the neighborhood has a bunch of American chain restaurants and coffee shops within a couple of blocks. The hair clinic is in a building that is connected to the hotel - you just walk over! Never need a car at all. read more

I'm just over two weeks post op after a FUE 2.0 surgery. For anyone that's nervous about going to Mexico for the surgery, you don't need to be. The process was very easy. Communication was great, they picked us up in a safe San Diego parking lot and delivered my girlfriend and I right to the clinic where we were met outside and walked through the entire process. Facility was legit there were no language barrier issues. My girlfriend stayed the night at the attached hotel and we were on our way the next morning. Border crossing is a breeze with your medical pass. Only being 2 weeks in, I can't speak to full results yet, but everything is going smoothly and their communication continues to impress when I have questions. Procedure was on October 9th. Post procedure, I did not experience any bleeding, which was a relief. Two weeks later, my donor area scabs are completely gone and my hair continues to grow. The implant area still has scabs and recovering nicely. At this stage I'll continue to follow instructions with aftercare of the scalp. Overall I have a positive outlook and I am pleased with the healing process. One thing to note. If you can, take time of work and stay indoors. Your healing will be a lot smoother. read more

Last week I drove to Tijuana for my procedure with TJ Hair Clinic. From the beginning it was a great experience. The driver who picked me up at the parking lot on the US side was very personable and got me to the hotel in good time. The hotel was expecting me and I got into the very nice room without incident. Slept well, had an EXCELLENT breakfast at the hotel (very reasonably priced) and then reported to the other "tower" (the hotel building has two), rode up the escalator, and there was Russald Medical. (word of caution: NOBODY at the hotel or the guards in the tower had ever heard of TJ Hair Clinic. It's all Russald Medical) After the preliminaries were over and we got down to brass tacks, boy was I impressed. The team (Ivan-Arturo-Alicia) got down to work and immediately made me feel at ease. They all spoke phenomenal English and took very good care of me. Okay, the pain shots are by far the worst part (and there seemed to be no end to them), but the procedure itself was a snap (possibly thanks to the Valium they give you. I was worrying about how I was going to make it through such a long procedure, but that pill made it all palatable) All the post op stuff was well explained and I was on my way home the next morning with absolutely no regrets. Staff was great, they responded to my appointment request in one day. I parked in San Diego and they had a driver pick me up in a nice vehicle and take me directly to the clinic. Very safe, very professional. Lastly, the procedure was pain free, and Dr Ojeda was awesome. Looking forward to seeing my results soon! read more

I had an FUE procedure of 1,243 grafts and 3,464 follicles transplanted to bald areas of my head in February of 2023. It has been a little over a year at the time of this review and my donor areas are very thin. I am honestly embarrassed of the results. My donor area is so thin. Overall 3/10 for the results and paying $3,700 However I want to give credit to the staff and customer service representative. 10/10 for customer service and staff help they really did all they could on their end. I am only giving this a 1 out 5 because the result and that is what we are coming for. read more
