I have been shopping at this location for 3 years. This TJ Maxx is very welcoming. Upon entering everyone is greeted with a welcome and given a sweet farewell as you leave the store. It's evident by the shopping carts placed in the front of the store that someone has sanitized each cart. I love shopping here. I can shop here for hours and hours without getting bored, and finding everything thing I need. The associates appear pleasant and willing to take time to assist in helping find an item. Also, I appreciate that garments are neatly hung and the sizing is clear to the customer. I have always found the cashiers friendly and helpful with returns, too. I have purchased many, many items from them including clothing, shoes, pet essentials, and household items. I have never been disappointed with all my purchases and the prices are great and unbeatable! read more

The sales staff are the rudest and unfriendly employees ever. I am not sure who is the hiring person in charge but they are extremely unprofessional, immature and not helpful. They literally run down their customers with their garment racks and don't even apologize or say excuse me. They are argumentative and have a very poor attitude when you shopping and they need to climb over you and push you over to place their items on the racks and shelves as you shop. This store is a mess - I had an asian woman literally argue and raising her voice at me at the cashier register! Unbelievable - TJ Corporate please do better! They have such a large selections of items to choose from. Their prices are unbeatable and they also have brand names for such good deals. I stopped in here to look for a NY Rangers sweatshirt since they are nowhere to be found in FL where I reside now. I have not been to this TJ Maxx in years. I used to shop here with my mother a lot when I lived here and when I visited. It was very busy when hubs and I visited this most recent time. It was his first time shopping here. Since this store never changed the layout or construction that I am aware of, I was very familiar with the layout of everything. The marketing is genius for women when we enter because the handbag section is to the left, right when you walk in the door. Of course I always browse! Honestly, this location has always sold very decent designer bags. I have gone to other locations and the best I could find was like Calvin Klein. I continued to browse the food, kitchen, pet, and women's clothing sections. I knew I would not find the sweatshirt in any of those sections but still! I found some cute stuff in the pet section and picked up these hats that said naughty on one side and nice on the other. I guess you display whatever behavior your dog is displaying on the front side lol. I picked up one for my munchkin and one for my parents' doggie. I was super elated I found only 1 Rangers jersey, even though it would not be my first choice if there were other options. We made our way towards the registers and waited on a nice long line. Very rarely have I shopped here and there was not a line. We finally were checking out and there was no conversation with the employee like I usually have with cashiers. I can't go a week without a trip to a TJ Maxx location. I found many goodies at this store, and they were all ridiculously cheap. I'm a fan of Bvlgari perfume. I found a bottle of Goldea for $34.99. So we went to this TJ Maxx to exchange it for a different size. EXCHANGE not return. The tag was still on because she didn't wear it out cause it was too big on her. We waited in that ridiculously long line to exchange it and the cashier said no you can't exchange it cause you don't have a receipt. So then she calls the manager? and she comes saying let me see the jacket. We show it to her and she starts smelling it saying sorry you can't exchange it cause it smells funny. I was just staring at her thinking wtf is this girl saying right now. We kept it in the bag and didn't even touch it after my mom tried it on once. I was ready to start a fight cause that was the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. We weren't asking for the money back- we were simply just trying to exchange the size cause it was TOO big. Just exchange the damn jacket and send us on our way. After couple minutes of arguing she goes ok I'll do it this once but next time don't do this. LOL we came to exchange it within 2 days after we got the jacket because we live really close to this TJ Maxx- 5 minute car ride. I've been inside of the store for 10 minutes. I hear the annoying woman telling people to apply for the card the third time now over the radio. Think that's all? No way. She walks around the aisles AND register line asking everyone if they have the card, and if not, she will proceed to ask personal questions like if one has a SS# and credit scores. It's not her business even if I wanted to apply for the card. You should also be awared of this card. If you are a responsible card holder and shop at TJ, Homegoods, etc a lot, this could be a good card with 5% cashback reward. BUT: the initial bonus of 10% of first transaction is a terrible initial bonus. Also, the purchase APR is 30%... lol... don't ever carry a balance on this card. It's also owned by Synchrony bank, which is notoriously famous for its poor customer service. read more

I think this is one of the better TJ Maxx that is in Queens. This TJ Maxx has larger inventory. A wider selection of clothes, socks, suits, tank tops, briefs, pajamas, pots and pans, baking tools, books, and more. The prices here are marked down pretty nicely. I got a set of measuring spoons for like a dollar fifty. There's plenty of jeans, sweaters, and shirts for men here. The TJ Maxx in Rego Center is a disaster. There's absolutely nothing in that location and I have no clue how they're able to stay open with Century 21 right next to them. If you're looking for a convenient place to get cheap name brand clothes, this TJ Maxx could be a match for you. There's free parking unlike Rego Center. The only thing that I dislike about this TJ Maxx are the lines. They assemble the lines like in a long Maze-like position where they fill both sides of the lines with merchandise. I was looking for a new satchel and found a perfect one here but unfortunately it was the last of it's kind and one of the seams was starting to come apart. I know someone that could have fixed it so I took a chance and asked how much of a discount they would be willing to offer. The first person I spoke to: Me: this bag is damaged, do you offer discounts for damaged products? Sales Associate: I sorry, no speak Ingles. (Points to customer service desk). The second person I spoke to: Me: this bag is damaged, do you offer discounts for damaged products? Customer Service Rep (CSR): Oh. Hold on. (speaks with manager and whispers while pointing at me while they both stared alternately at the bag and then me) Me: Any luck? CSR: $7 off Me: no thanks, it is damaged, I will need to get it fixed. I was hoping for much less. CSR: that is 10% Oh well. I wound up finding a bag at the Queens Center Mall instead. I would have countered but it just seemed futile dealing with someone working in customer service exhibiting no actual customer service. I have always appreciated TJ Maxx for the shelves they have in the back. I can usually find a good deal on miscellaneous items that I can use for props on buffets as well as runners, placemats and vases. The furniture section usually has some off beat pieces that can work for banquet functions, and miscellaneous boxes work well for sugar caddies and silverware holders. This location did not disappoint. The store has it's advantages including attractive pricing, unique, ever changing product and convenient free parking. 12/18/15 Beware of Maria the night Manager. Store #0588, College Point. Unfortunately, racism still runs rampant and people like this still get to where they are. Fortunately, I was raised to see people, as people. We selected 4 Rolls of Wrapping Paper and I found 2 other similar ones to the one's we were purchasing. They were unraveled and not wrapped in cellophane. When I was at the register, I asked if they were discounted because it was opened. I had planned on purchasing them regardless but might as well inquire. The cashier called Maria, the night Manager over. Maria took the 2 rolls and went to the back. Then she walked back to the front, this time with 3 rolls - the 3rd was a partially unwrapped one. If she needed to know the original price, we had 4 other rolls on the counter right in front of us. Maria disappeared again with the 3 rolls. When she comes back, she tells the cashier that we intentionally damaged the wrapping paper, ripping the cellophane off in order to get a discount. SERIOUSLY? We purchased $300+ worth of products, we REALLY would stoop to that level to save $1?!? Then she makes a show to stick a full priced sticker on the inside of the roll even though the cashier said please don't as she would have trouble scanning it inside the tube. I purchased the wrapping paper in better condition regardless of that rude and demeaning comment. I also told the cashier to check the security cameras as I had nothing to hide. Small but we found some pretty good deal here on stuff. The prices here are great! This place is located inside a shopping center where there is also Target, BJ's, etc... Parking shouldn't be a problem here. The parking lot is huge. We never had a problem finding a parking space here. If you live nearby, definitely worth stopping by! read more

I frequently shop at this location as it is conveniently right next to Bj's and Target. Today I had the WORST experience at this store over a return. The quality of management at store #0588 located at College Point, White stone is horrible. I purchased a pair of clearance women's leather boots at this location 2/15/14. I went out this same location to return the item without a receipt today 4/5/14. (4 Days Overdue) The casher called over the manger to review the item, as it is over $100. The manager refused to return this item because I didn't have a receipt and according to him the treated leather looked "scuffed"... and rudely walked away. I had to request to speak to him again, I pointed out that the sole and heal of the shoe are clearly unworn and in excellent condition, which again he completely ignored the fact of this item is in perfect as-purchased condition, he kept asking to see a receipt with no other valid reason for not excepting the shoes. I had other customer agree with me, as well as the cashier apologize multiple times for the extremely uncomfortable situation caused by the manger. When asked for his name, he walked away without responding to my request for him to write it down.... scared maybe? I have never had such an unprofessional and insulting encounter with any employee, let alone manager at this location. Don't they take action against such a degrading and rude manager?. I've been here a few times. Each time I come here I wonder "why the eff do I keep coming here"? Oh right, because BJ's is next door. Oh right, because Target is nearby. Oh right, wait what was I saying? They are very organized like most of their TJ Maxx stores. I am saddened that they don't have a LARGER SELECTION for men as they always most certainly do for women. The prices, well I'd pay more for better quality/selection over at Century 21 but if I need something simple I'd come here. This TJ Maxx located in College Point is actually one of the nicer ones that I've been too. Unlike some others, this particular store is very organized in terms of displaying their products whether it be clothes, home decor, or beauty items. Anything you would possibly want to purchase you can probably find here at a low price. The location of this store is great because it's surrounded near other stores and there's a parking lot available for patrons. The store is divided up into the section for bags (travel bags, coachbags, school bags, etc...), shoes & undergarments, ladies clothes, men's clothes, kid's section and a kitchen/home area. My favorite places besides the ladies area is the kitchen and home section where you can find gourmet and healthy food for a bargain price. Only downfall is finding what you want in your size at times especially for petites. In the jeans and skirts section, it's hard to find something nice and fits you when you run a small size. So, perhaps it's best shopping for that elsewhere but the prices on jeans and skirts are really good compared to outside stores. So, you might have to spend HOURS finding the perfect pair but when you do, it's totally worth it. The prices are unbeatable and sometimes you find an AMAZING DEALS!!!! Beware of seasonal shopping, the stores can get very crowded and the racks of shoes disappear quickly. read more

I usually have decent experiences when I shop at TJMAXX located in College Point NY and 20th ave. However, today was anything but that. I was gifted 2 email gifts cards and decided to use them with my purchase today. The clerk that assisted me was sweet and pleasant. When we went to use the gifts cards for what ever reason they did not scan, the clerk says if they do not scan I think there isn't anything we can do. So at this point I'm thinking WTH its 2019 what do you mean nothing can be done. I suggest to her perhaps keying in the numbers would work, she replies as says to me it wasn't something she can do. She goes and get the manager of the cashier named Yasmin. She was the most arrogant, lazy and useless person I had spoken to all day, And believe me when I tell you I deal with many people in a professional level. She has the snottiest attitude and no F*** given. I questioned her and asked how could she possibly be the front cashier manager, no people skills or basic common sense. I decide before I curse her out and lose my cool I would drive back to work and print out actual copies. I come back and that still wouldn't register, at this point I am frustrated and I forgot to mention Im with my 4 year old. The clerk said she would go get the manager of the store, as she goes to get her, useless Yasmin comes back to tell me the manager said if it can not be scanned then I would have to get new gift cards. I told her that impossible and I wanted to her that from the managers mouth as I couldn't possibly believe they had 2 useless people running the store. Nella the manager comes, I explained my situation and she calls some number to ensure that gift cards are active which of course they are. So here's the kicker she ends up manually putting in the numbers for the gifts cards. I questioned her and asked her why they couldn't of done that the first time around. She apologized because what else could she do. They lack to understand the simplicity of just doing their job. This store is always very crowded. They do not sell men's shoes however there's a good amount of woman's shoes for sale. T.J. Maxx is a good go to store for some odds and ends. I like the selection of glass water bottles. I purchased a few to give as gifts for Teacher Appreciation gifts. There's no big and tall section for men. The bath and body section and the water bottle section is excellent. The manager and the cashiers move the line quickly. They are very organized. I really don't like this store mostly because of the people working there. I live in Malba and stopped by few times to take a look at what they have, even though I usually never shop in those type of stores . Well, I was looking at the makeup/ skincare section and some lady that works there came right where I was and was pretending to be organizing shelves. A woman with straight brown hair and pale skin, and a young black woman who claimed to be the night-manager would not let me return it, claiming they don't sell that brand there. MEANWHILE, on their racks are clothes bearing the labels "Pretty Girl" and "Forever 21" -- which means they allow other people to return clothes that really aren't from their store. I enjoy going to this store because is close from home and has many selections. I have been going seens they opened. But the manager SONYA is so rude, very nasty, way too unprofessional, extremely uneducated customer service background, disgusting temper and attitude, shows uncontrollable anger, uncivilized, inhuman behavior manager of a Tjmax?! So I had no chance to explain why I don't want the product. No excuse me, no one moment, and just left me while I was talking to her... ultra super rude!!! She told her employees not to touch (the bedding product I took back there) because of COVID. She treated me like I had a disgusting deadly disease!!! Like a low second class citizen! Even the employees where like wtf is wrong with her. But obviously afraid of retaliation so they stayed quiet and told me (I don't know and sorry when made eye contact with me) I said I'm sorry you guys have to work with her... Dumb as door knobs here! Not sure why it takes 3 transactions to process a refund correctly!! And this includes assistance from the "manager". If I paid sales tax on a time because it was purchased out of NYC, I am owed that when I return the item. The sales associate returned the item without including the sales tax. The manager "assisted" and got the tax amount wrong. I had to do the math for them! All the while, the initial sales associate just stood there with a dumb as smirk on her face.
